5 Cylinder Radial Engine
a fun build... not quite finished yet..pistons, valving, crankshaft and propeller rotate smoothly...power to follow...

Great metal working model. Only complaint: Valve timing seems off.
This model, though expensive, is very well made and goes together flawlessly. Spares are included for some very small parts such as screws. looks fantastic when finished; I painted the spark plug insulators for greater realism. Tools are included, though I used my own, better quality tools - mostly metric Allen wrenches in about 4 different sizes. Study the instructions carefully to avoid issues. Lubricate thoroughly during assembly. After reading another review, I used Vaseline on the lifters to help avoid a falling-out issue - it's easy for the lifters and pushrods to come loose if the model is handled carelessly. My only complaint is when the engine runs, the valve timing seems off; the intake and exhaust valves both seem to open on piston upstroke.

Great gift
My husband actually asked fir this for his birthday…..something he never does. He built it quickly and it is so fun to watch all of the parts work. I know he likes it because we both show it off.

Excellent quality
Very well done. Completely happy with the finished model.

Great project for teaching kids
Lifters and pushrods should be heavily greased, they tend to fall out whenever you pick the motor up. You will never find the lifter's once they hit the floor, then you can't install pushrods

Incredibly fun build! Mesmerizing to watch!
The media could not be loaded. I recieved this as a Christmas gift. It's one of the most interesting and fun things I've ever recieved. I could watch it run for an unreasonable amount of time. The build itself took around 6 hours from start to finish. If you decide to build one, do yourself a favor a pick up an electric micro screwdriver with an assortment of bits. You're also going to need some lubrication as it's not included in the kit. I used Labelle106 for gears and Liquid Bearings for everything else. They seem to be working well. The kit comes in a handsome metal box. All the parts are held in individually numbered well marked areas and include detailed instructions in several languages. The only problems I ran into were that inserting the 5 pistons into the crankcase case really requires a second set of hands. Also, the tiny motherboard that runs the whole contraption was a bit confusing. Fortunately for me, wiring things backwards didn't cook anything.Overall, I couldn't be more pleased. I'd strongly recommend this as the perfect gift for the DIY aviation, motor, model, etc. enthusiast in your life. They won't be disappointed!
