TURSTED EMERGENCY LIGHT.... It just always works
I have installed many emergency lighting devices over the past 30-plus years. The basic function hasn’t changed much, but improvements have been made in terms of ease of installation, brightness, duration of light, battery size, replacement battery cost, adjustability of the light beam, the unit's overall weight, water resistance, and cost.Below are the highlights of this device that caught my attention initially and to order a unit to try out AND WERE the basis for my decision to buy more of this exact model after I tried one out personally:• The unit is UL-listed and has a water rating code, which means it is protected against water jets from any direction, splashing, dripping, misting, and rain. This is a major selling point for me, as I can install an emergency light outside my home for the first time.• Itis easy to install, as the manufacturer has appropriately marked the rear mounting plate to consider every possible mounting option. This ensures that the holes will be centered.• It operates automatically from initial charging to trickle charging and switching from standby to emergency mode. When the power fails, the unit illuminates your pathway in milliseconds.• In my first test of these lights, I left them running for 60 minutes. They never flickered, dimmed, or produced less light. I purposely have not run them long enough to discharge the batteries fully; I didn’t see a need after my 60-minute perfect test was completed.• This device does not hum or buzz, and the emergency light does not flicker or blink, as many other units seem to do.• The dual adjustable lamp heads allowed me to illuminate not just a straightforward pathway. With the light head that adjusts 90 degrees up and down plus rotates 360 degrees, I was able to light a pathway around a corner and at both the top and the bottom landings of a staircase. This is a big deal for me in a multistory house for myself, my family, and our dogs.• The only button on the device is a single push-to-test button. Therefore, I don’t have to worry if I left a switch in the correct place or if anyone else, like a kid, has been playing with it.• The device just always works.THIS DEVICE REQUIRES BEING HARDWIRED vs. having an electrical outlet to plug into. Take that into consideration when planning how you will install this light by considering your prevailing electrical code, your location's electrical permit requirements, and the skill level of anyone installing these lights.I have three of these units. The low cost is incredible for this easy-to-install, all-in-one, complete unit. I plan to get several more for each bedroom and the exterior of my house, garage, and workshop.

Decently bright, sturdy
These Sunco LED Emergency Lights are going to work well for me, which I'm using them indoors. These are intended to be hard wired, they do not come with a standard plug-in, just bare wires. One major note (and nearly a star off, but you be the judge) is that they say these are "Outdoor Emergency Lights", yet in the instructions they say "Suitable for use in damp environments at temperatures ranging from 32 F to 104 F. Not for use where directly exposed to water." Does this mean they should not be rained on? What about the majority of the country who have temperatures below freezing for several months of the year? Are these really "Outdoor" just because they can withstand humidity in a mid-range temperature environment? They are easy to get ready for use. Getting them apart is a bit tricky, but not real difficult. They have clips that definitely keep them in place and put together. The plastic cover is solid and very clear, and it keeps people from moving the lights in different directions - you set them how you want them and they're going to stay that way. Once you have it apart, there are knock-outs on the back to run the wires through for installation. Once you have it wired up, plug the battery in and put it back together and you're ready to go.They could put their stickers inside in better spots. In the future when it comes time to replace the batteries.... the sticker telling you what batteries to replace them with is underneath all the wiring and circuit boards - doesn't seem like a smart place for that sticker.I put this where I am going to want it to light up my kitchen to make sure it was going to work the way I needed it to. It easily illuminates the 20' x 25' kitchen well enough to see any obstacles and be able to get out.

Whoa bright!
Honestly, they're almost too bright. But they do work, and work well. Easy to mount/install, and the instructions are clear.Definitely great in an emergency and probably something every homeowner should have in their basement or garage. Good deal too.

Bright emergency light
These pair of emergency lights were functional during the power outage. Pretty easy to install for an electrician, the manual is easy to follow. It is well made and good quality housing. Gives bright light and helps on the dark hallway. Good battery life, power came back on to

What a waste of time
These emergency lights are ALMOST perfect. The lights occupy minimal space on the wall, they’re easily adjustable, they’re compatible with 120-277V AC, and they feature a weatherproof shell. Each light includes a weatherproof gasket, mounting hardware, and wire nuts for installation. Before installation, the installer must connect the battery wire connector to the main board. Mounting the light is simple and straight forward, however, the lights will not stay latched onto the back plate. These lights feature two plastic tabs on the top and two plastic tabs on the bottom of the lights that keep the lights latched to the back plate. The two plastic tabs on the top are very small and completely inadequate to keep the light in place. What ends up happening is the lights fall forward inside of the weatherproof shell, which causes the test button to activate the lights and drain the battery. On one of the lights, I was able to put a screw through the top of the lights that lined up with a hole I drilled in the top of the back plate to keep the lights in place. On the other light, I was able to wedge a piece of foam board between the top of the lights and the top of the back plate. Both of these lights wasted way too much of my time on what was supposed to be a simple and quick installation. If it wasn’t for the horribly ineffective tabs, these lights would be perfect. The lights turn on instantly when power is lost and provide plenty of light to light a fairly large area. In my case, I used the lights in a stairwell and the lights provide plenty of light for the stairwell in a power outage.
