High Protein Goat Milk Powder

We often have trouble digesting cow's milk but I really didn't want to buy actual goat's milk, although I have heard it healthy and easily digestible, so I thought this powdered goat's milk would be good to try. I'm glad I did because it mixes easily into smoothies and other baked goods where I would use milk, and it's shelf stable in an obviously resealable container. I love that this product is double to protein compared to their original goat milk powder, as I am always trying to increase my protein intake and this makes it super easy. I don't think I would drink it straight up, just mixed with water, but I wouldn't drink cow's milk that way, either. I highly recommend this product.

This powdered goat milk comes in a one pound plastic tub. It is easy to prepare. You use 1/3 cup powder per one cup of water. I shook mine in a jar to mix, and it blended perfectly, with no clumps. It has a very slight gamey taste when you taste it on its own, but I don't taste it when I use it in my tea. I got this for my husband, who has a lactose issue, to use in tea. It hasn't caused him any problems. I like that this is convenient to have on hand for when I need it, and won't go bad right away. I also like that it's high in protein and calcium, but contains no fat. It says on the container you can use it to make cheese. I love goat cheese, and can't wait to try that. I think this is a decent value if you need to use a milk alternative, or are just looking for a nutritionally-superior milk.

I drink milk with my coffee and like to have a shelf-stable alternative to milk for the times that I run out of refrigerated milk, and this goat milk powder suits my needs wonderfully! The powder mixes easily with water and doesn't clump, and makes for a delicious cold coffee drink. The taste is somewhere between powdered cow milk with notes of feta cheese, but a bit of sugar in my coffee cuts the taste and makes a satisfying drink. This powder does settle and separate if making more than one serving at a time, but it quickly mixes back into itself when shaken. I'm a huge fan of cow's milk, and while I don't think I've ever had the opportunity to try goat milk, I have tried and love goat cheese. My husband is a big fan of the high protein content this has. :) I have fond memories of reading the book Heidi as a little girl, and dreaming of having goats of my own in the Swiss Alps. I was very pleased when I mixed myself up 1/3c of this powder with 8oz warm water (as directed) and took a sip. I was even more pleased after it had cooled way down in the fridge and I drank the rest. I think I expected it to taste stronger (based on my cheese experience), but to my delight it had thickened up a bit and it was smooth, rich, and mild. Yummy! This 1lb jar of powdered goat's milk makes about 15 servings as directed, and a gallon of cow's milk is about 16 (8oz) servings. I figure if you use just a little less powder per 8oz of water, this jar of powder pretty much equals a gallon of cow's milk. Since the powder's expiration date is about 10 months from when I got it, that will last as long as I need it to (though it'll probably be long gone a lot quicker, as good as it is). Goat's milk is generally out of my budget, but this powdered form is so good that I'm sure I'll be adding it to my pantry for special occasions and trying it in recipes. Speaking of that, I really appreciate the recipe on the product page, and the container says there are more products & recipe ideas on their website, so I'll definitely be checking that out. I sure wish more companies offered that perk! This gets a very strong 4 stars from me, and a big yodel from the mountaintop.

I love goat milk, this tastes nothing like goat milk. I can still use it as a protein drink with fruits or veggies. Makes good froth for coffee and kitties love it so we’ll use it up. Update: I ordered another jar because my babies (kitties) like it, however, it doesn’t seem the same. The color is not as white and there’s a lot of clumping. It’s not expired so am not sure whats the problem. My Kitties didn’t even like it as they did with the prior purchase. So it confirmed something was not right. When it arrived the top of the container had a white film I checked and the seal was not broken. Perhaps another jar had busted and no one cared enough to clean up the jars surrounding it. Who knows.

So many possible uses for us with this. I got it because I like having goat milk on hand in case of a downed baby squirrel kitten or other random animal. We lost one in the past when we found it outside but didn't have enough time to get supplies to feed it before it passed. Now we like to keep supplies at home just in case. This is a great shelf-stable option in case. On top of that it also tastes pretty good and I used it as a general milk replacement when we ran out of milk and even on cereal it wasn't overwhelmingly strong and tasted creamy and good. Doesn't granulate if you follow the instructions first and this might be a new staple in our cupboard.

If I could give a negative star commenting this product I would without any hesitation. It is the most and only strange Mike powder I have tasted in my life: strong and disgusting taste in mouth, the pasty kind of thickness the mild power formed after hot water adding in it. I tried twice and hated it more each time I tried. It ended I throw the whole plastic jar right way after my 2nd try. It is a horrible product beyond disappointment. It is scary it is sold on Amazon.
