Anabar Protein Bar, The Sampler Pack, The Protein-Packed Candy Bar, World's Best Tasting Protein Bar, No Sugar Alcohols, High Protein, Amazingly Delicious, 20 Grams of Protein (6 Bars, Original Variety)

On a new schedule at work, I was going into lunch time starving hungry every day. Regular snacks weren't doing anything for me and I didn't want to redo my schedule into a whole full breakfast production every day. These worked great. They're tasty and make my face happy. I can eat one in the 10-15min time frame where I'm at work early just hanging out, and then later I don't feel distracted by hunger an hour before lunch. I would not call them candy bars. They are very dense and chewy, and they're big. It's more like a big serious chewy granola bar as far as how they eat. Some of them are softer and labeled 'soft'. Others are in the middle and are 'soft/chewy' and some are really dense, labeled 'chewy/crunchy' but I didn't get much crunch out of them. I received Monster Cookie Crunch, Triple Chocolate Wasted, Campfire Smores, Fruity Cereal Crunch, Bussin' Birthday Cake and Strawberry Cupcake. They were all good enough that I wanted to finish them. Birthday cake was the worst, more boring than 'bussin'. The chocolate coated ones were all melty and messy at room temperature and didn't seem very chocolaty on the interior, except for Triple Chocolate Wasted. Eating all of them, I kept thinking it would be better suited to peanut butter. I saved Monster Cookie Crunch for last but it wasn't peanut buttery enough and, again, it was melty and messy. I think I'm going to get a box of the Death by Peanut Butter ones. I'm hoping the peanut butter coating will stay solid like the white chocolate did and not be a big mess, but even if it's melty the Death by Peanut Butter is labeled as the softer 'soft/chewy' so I could try them cold and hopefully they wouldn't be super hard.

Triple Chocolate - this was delicious and enjoyable. Favorite flavor of the pack! Very chocolatey. Monster Cookie Crunch - disappointing. I love Reese's and peanut butter. This bar lacked flavor and was hard to chew. Frosted Strawberry Cupcake- birthday cake bar with strawberry coating. There's a sweetness to the icing, and I like it. If you like strawberry, this is for you. Refreshing to get away from chocolate. White Chocolate Cereal Crunch - VERY fruity pebbles tasting. I didn't get a lot of white chocolate, but major morning cereal flavor. Bussin birthday cake- only bar that wasn't melty. This bar is tough to chew. It's not delivering on the cake claim. Its also not sweet. It says there are 24g of sugar, but I cannot detect any sugar. Campfire S'mores - This tastes like a standard protein bar. Apparently I can’t read because i thought it was a 20 pack for $35, instead it was a 6 pack for that price. That’s on me, I’ll admit, and I wouldn’t have bought it if I had realized. So overpriced, it’s ridiculous, and to make it worse they are hard to chew. Like the bars fight back. You’ll get a great jaw workout with these, it’s the kind of chewy that’s also hard to bite into at first. Like, why couldn’t they have made them softer? They advertise that it eats like a candy bar, but candy bars are soft and tender. The birthday cake flavor was surprisingly okay, I normally don’t like birthday cake flavors but it was a randomized variety pack. However, the fruity cereal flavor was not good, the white chocolate used tastes like puke. I haven’t tried some of the flavors yet, but there’s no way any of them are gonna be good enough to justify the price and the difficult chewing. There are way better protein bars put there that taste like candy bars, like the Gorilla Mind bars, which are also kinda pricey but way better than these.

These protein bars taste amazing. Good value for the money, a bit on the expensive side. The quality of the packaging is also great. The filling inside of the bars themselves is delicious. Wish it had more protein though. They are not stale.

You can't have your cake and eat it to. Do these contain a decent amount of protein for a bar? At 20g I would say definitely. Do they taste good at least? YES! Best tasting protein bars I've had. Are they good for you? ehhh that's where the starts start going away. These things taste like delectable baked treats with virtually no bad flavor in the entire variety box. The caveat? they are PACKED with sugar. And not even an "ok that's not so bad" amount....its bad. Like 32-42% of your daily value in a single 270-300 calorie snack amount. Do they taste amazing, yes. But damn if you don't feel real bad after eating one. I can not justify using these in my meal replacement routine with that much sugar. The 20g of protein isn't worth it. In a world where sugar wasn't killing us slowly, I'd give these 5 stars. But these are as bad as breakfast cereals or candy when it boils down to nutrition.

These do very much taste like candy bars which on the one hand is great because its like eating a candy bar plus 20g of protein. But, and its 22g of but, its alot of sugar content which isn't to say don't get them just know they should be literally treated like a candy bar that happens to have 20g of protein. And as several mentioned it can melt if they're shipping anywhere hot. Taste is very good, a lot of peanut butter based flavors so take that into account.

I ordered the sample box - although I didn't care for the strawberry cupcake flavor - every other flavor is good (that was in the sample pack) - I have yet to try the Cookies & Cream as it wasn't in the sample pack and I don't want to buy a whole box not knowing IF I like them. That being said my favorite is the Campfire Smore's followed by the Monster Cookie Crunch I eat these now every night - I save up calories for them as my after dinner treat. Sad to say (for me) I look forward to when I get to have one and as someone who is using my fitness pal to track calories IYKYN....

Good variety. Makes you feel less guilty about eating chocolate
