The Tusk Folding Shift Lever +10mm is a fantastic upgrade for Kawasaki KLR650 owners. Although listed for 1987–2018 models, it fits perfectly on my 2024 KLR650 Adventure, so the description is accurate. The build quality is excellent—solid construction with great knurling on the tip for secure shifting. The weight feels just right, and the lever looks great even after heavy use. I’ve put about 15,000 miles on it, and it’s still going strong with no signs of wear. For the price, this is a very reasonable option from a reputable brand. Let's face it, between the shotty rubber foot pegs and super short shifter on the new klr650 kawasaki must think we all wear a size 8 boot. The shifter with its +10mm is long enough to improve shifting even with stock pegs but is even better with a solid set of pegs, I Wear a size 13 and can fit everything from an aggressive offroad boot to my steel toe workbooks now. Tusk nailed it on this mod and their a super awesome company to boot. Also retains the same failsafe with the notch on the shifter shaft and screw on the lever.

Super lightweight compared to OEM. Much easier to get my size 12 boot under. Haven't had a chance to ride with it yet, but it looks and feels solid. Nice upgrade for a good price.

Got this for my 2006 KLR 650. The longer length help to get toes under the shifter easier. It is a bit wider so I had to adjust my foot a bit when shifting to avoid being on the pivot area which is kind of uncomfortable. Once I got used to that, it is just fine! As an added bonus, I probably lost about a pound of weight over the heavy steel stock shifter.

This seems to be a sturdy nice folding shift lever for my 2016 KLR650 it went on easy and moves the shift point forward about 1/2 inch or so which is nice for my size 12 foot. It puts the shift lever at about the middle of my big toe which is where I like it not back on my foot where it was. I only took one star off of durability because it is light weight aluminum and I can't say if it will outlive the steel or not, but I do recommend it. FYI I still have stock pegs. I don't care for the MX style ones.

Also have the tusk footpegs and if you have them or have ordered them I strongly recommend a shift lever too, longer is a must if you are a size 12 foot imo, and I'm only wearing a leather riding boot, not even and mx style boot. The shifting feel is nice too, the end is much smaller and much more slippy, your toe glides under it a lot better and the slips back out a lot easier too. So even if you don't need the length it still has benefit. Quality wise it is what you expect, it is a light alloy that looks like a Chinese part tusk has just branded, not sure how susceptible to work softening it'll be without crashing it but I would rather ruin the lever than the shaft it attaches to. I'm seeing some people say the lever is not longer and even images where it doesn't seem longer but it is deceptive, you can line up the lever before putting it on and it looks the same length but on the bike it is longer, and I think this listing doesn't even mention being longer so I think maybe tusk only does a longer lever, I may be remembering wrong though, I mainly purchased because my old lever was cracked, didn't know at the time my pegs were going to make a longer lever a necessity.
