I gave recently purchased a hose that a remodel was started on by the previous owner. There are a lot of wires that go from a box to unknown locations and are not powered. I have been able t to easily trace every wire and be able to make a wiring print to help me with the project.I have also used it to trace some wiring buried underground. I was able to find wires going to the pump house and the water pump underground.I have also used it at my work where I am an maintenance tech art a metal fab shop. I find it really helpful for the outdoor lighting when it don't work i can trace the wires back and found the short circuit much quicker and easier. I attach the alligator clips to the source voltage wires at the lighting then go backwards along the conduit in different spots until I loose signal then can go back and usually find a bad joint.I recommend it. I would have loved the Fluke one but couldn't justify the extra expense myself.I would recommend it.

Have to play with it to learn how it works. It can be confusing

Not sure how this got highly rated. I bought this based on reviews both on YouTube and Amazon which were all good. I didn’t try it out when I first got it since I trusted the reviews. Thought I’d better try it and it kept giving me false readings at high sensitivity and no readings at all at low sensitivity. I really don’t understand how it was so bad given what I had read. Perhaps I got a faulty one? I’ll see if can get better results with the Klein tools version

I’ve been a commercial electrician for 20 years and never had a circuit tracer that was worth squat. This tool just makes you feel… valid. It’s very accurate and can pay for itself in one little job. Simple as can be to operate and even easily traces wires buried 24 inches in the earth. I’ve used it to trace wires for pole lights, broken or undone splices in buried quazite boxes. I found the neighbors invisible dog fence when the water company broke it. Just a fantastic tool.

This tool does it all. EXCEPT it would be perfect if it had a GFI test button built in.

Very accurate on 120v Circuits especially in homes. Also works well on live 240 3 phase applications. Definitely a valuable piece of equipment for troubleshooting and identifying circuits.

Best pro tool for verifying various types of electrical circuits. This is a must have tool if you are an electricalfield technician. It can locate circuitry live or dead through the ground, concrete or walls.

This tester is definitely a time saver. I was able to locate a hidden GFCI that tripped which was controlling various outlets in a home. I definitely recommend this to anyone that works with electrical.
