StarTech 8-Outlet 1U PDU, 120V/15A, Surge, 6ft Cord, TAA (RKPW081915)

Simple to mount and easy to use. Seems reasonably well-built. Plenty of outlets at the back. No fancy electrical isolation, but it does offer basic protection from electrical spikes, and I already have electrical protection upstream of this device, so I didn't care. Nitpicks: the logo and other model information printed prominently on the far right of the faceplate looks amateurish and detracts from its otherwise simple good-looks. Also, there are two status lights on the front panel: SURGE (red) and GROUND (green). Both lights are illuminated under normal conditions. Normal convention is that a r red light, especially right next to a green light, means that there is a problem. This issue is of course no big deal - you can get used to it. But it makes it more difficult for a new user to quickly have a look at the status lights and know everything is OK, and it's typical of the design mistakes that inexperienced product engineers make.

Took my rack mount to the next level for a great price. No complaints. The plugs ground to the side so this one was useful for my project bc the plugs fit in the limited space. The others like it did not.

Fit a rack. Good outlet spacing. Good price. Nice and solid and comes with the mounting hardware.

I was looking for a PSU that had the outlets in the back and this fit the bill. It runs cool and I’ve had no dead outlets.

These fit on the rear of my rack without interfering with anything installed in it, they only stick into the rack about 4 inches with plugs installed. My gripes with these are that the outlets are very tight, so no room for any wall bricks, and the exterior has some weird overspray texture on it. The bottom of one of the ones I got was quite sticky from whatever was sprayed on it. I managed to clean it up with some IPA, but not sure why it was like that.

Purchased more than 5 years ago and still working perfectly. Easy to connect extender short power cords. The 1U rack mount is plenty for multiple switches and other devices. The cord's length is great and fits into a electricity house service device. Never had an issue with surge protection. Currently looking for a StarTech rack mount with individual on/off push buttons.

El producto es muy bueno y está muy bien construido. Tiene un acabado y textura agradables al tacto y aunque hubiera preferido que las orejas de montaje fueran de 2mm de espesor y desmontables siento que está muy bien y cumple su función dentro de mi flyrack de producción sonora. Tambien me hubiera gustado que el cable de alimentación fuera desmontable y que los conectores de las dsalidas de poder estuvieran un poco mas separados aprovechando que hay espacio para ello pero en general no puedo quejarme.

Does everything well, however the positioning of the power plugs does make it so it can be hard sometimes plugging in two plugs that have a bigger footprint. If the plugs were a little further apart it would have been better. I had to get very short extension cords for some outlets so I didn't have to worry about spacing.

While I think these plugs are overpriced, I still went back and bought a second one for my rack. They are sturdy, and they are easy to install. So far, they are working as expected. I used the two units to split the amp load between UPSs so neither one is carrying all that much current. On the surface, they appear well-made, but I have not opened them up to inspect the circuitry.

I needed a power strip for an additional rack of gear that I already had conditioned power available. I have always found StarTech products to be of good quality, so I thought I would give this a chance. Mine arrived in excellent condition, despite seeing that many reviews complain about damage in shipping. To be fair, the packaging could be more protective. The switch, sockets, and cables are all solid and I have had zero issues using this (turning it off and on) daily.

Very good and simple power distribution. No noise whatsoever. No issues at all after many months in my studio desk.

This is a great unit, glad to have purchased it. Two little things: the mounting ears were both slightly bent on arrival. Easily enough bent back prior to installation, but a little disappointing. Secondly, it would be nice if the unit arrived with mounting screws for my rack. Otherwise a good product at a reasonable price.
