I was finally allowed (I'm clumsy) to get a knife for our canoe camping trip. Every year I beg. This was the beauty I picked! She worked great! We did sharpen her since she was a little dull. For 10 days she stayed by my side ready to attack bears or wolves. She got lots of use cutting rope and randomly being flashed at children with an enthusiastic "Yaaaah!" by me. The children, realizing how special she was, took her from me to widdle magical wands. She was better than the other knives at camp at wand-making. Never once did she draw blood, but I know she wants to.

I kept staring at this knife when it came, the blue color and the raised etching of the dragon. WOW this knife is beautiful I can't get enough of it. Now for the mechanics of it, easy blade release, and it locks every time. The grip is solid fits my large hand perfectly. Yes, it's razor Sharp, removes body hair in one pass. This knife is very beautiful and very well made. Up date, I've noticed that people are having a hard time with the blade release, maybe this can help. The tendency is to push down when instead you should pull towards you, put your finger towards the bottom of the trigger and pull towards you. Also there's a s.s. Screw that connects the blade to the handle, on some knifes this screw can be too tight. Remove the screw when knife is closed and apply blue or red lock tight on the screw and thread it back in, when it gets snug stop, don't over tighten the screw, allow the lock tight to dry over night then lubricate. I hope this helps. I have to say it again, this is one beautifully designed knife.

I collect Benchmade Knives. So most other knives pale in comparison. I bought this one just based on looks, and didn't expect it to be very usable. Boy was I wrong. This knife is not only beautiful, but It is also very functional and well crafted. The blade is decently sharp. The flipper is large, and makes deployment of the blade easy. The joint is solid, and even after many actions of the spring it still feels tight as ever. It is a bit on the heavy side, and it's curved design means that it may not make the best daily carry knife, but I don't feel like it was designed for that purpose anyways. I would highly recommend this knife. At this price point, it's hard to beat.

Make that...I love the way it looks, don't love how hard it is to open. Balanced out to 3 stars. This is really gorgeous. One of the prettiest knives I own. After liberal use of WD40, it will now open with only moderate difficulty. This is a step up from forcing it open with both hands...yes, that was how hard it was to open. I have other knives that flick open with the touch of a finger tip. This will never be one of those knives. Very disappointing. No, I do not have the same strength in my hands that men do. However, that is the point of spring assisted, isn't it?? I have larger, heavier knives that open with ease. Don't know if it's bad design, or I got a lemon...

I really love the shape of this knife, the balance and weight and size are perfect for my hand.It was a little tricky to open and close until I figured out the little claw things by the hing are for opening one-handed, and there's a little catch under the blade at the hinge the you have to press to the side to close.I like the color, and the blue is pretty too.I got several and put them around the house because I'm always looking for a knife and these are easy to spot----------Update: a couple years later and I have been very pleased with the durability of these knives. The color has not worn off, I have both blue and rainbow, several of each. I got a bunch and put one in each place where I had kept looking for a knife but couldn't find it, now I don't have to search. The angle of the curve fits exactly right with the size of my hand and the way I hold my wrist. The little closing latch thing is a bit stiff at first but gets easier with use.

I don't care what people say about cheap knives. I doubt anyone will be complaining about the quality, if you have to use it on them in self defense. I used to have a really high quality bench-made knife that I never used for practical purposes because I didn't want to damage a really expensive knife. Then one day, it fell out of my pocket and was gone forever. So I bought about 15 various cheap knives to replace it, and I love them! They are great because I can keep them in various places such as my car or at work. And I'm not worried about ruining them or losing them because they were so cheap. I use them on a daily basis, and they work fine for every day use. Sure it would be nice to have a high quality knife, but in most cases for me, it's not practical. The cheaper ones come in all different cool styles and they are fun to just have on hand without worrying about losing them. Some of them function better than others concerning the sharpness and the way they flip open, but overall, I like them all. Some of them I bought just for the aesthetics, regardless of the quality. This is one of them.

This knife is so cool! It looks great, feels great, and is super sharp. It is a little stiff and takes some getting used to for closing it, but it opens easily which is the important thing. It looks just like the picture. I got it to have next to my bed to help me sleep sounder and not be terrified of every little noise at night. It came super sharp. I wasn't careful enough looking at it when it first arrived and barley hit my hand with the tip and it cut me. If you are careful (like you should be with a knife) it is safe. Since I haven't had any home intruders yet I can't tell you if it will intimidate them, but you can use it to cut up boxes, open packages, cut string, and much more.
