Got this mainly for break jobs. The magnet is strong and it seems designed well enough to do the job and is very movable so it will adjust to any strut and break setup you might have.

Good product I have used this dial more than a dozen times building transmissions. I have checked it against other dial indicators and it is with spec. I prefer the link style arm over the cumbersome rods. This tool is fast to setup and has worked flawlessly. Only thing I would like for it to be better would be the magnet be a little bit stronger, but if you have a flat spot big enough it will hold . I have used mine to check shaft end play on axels, differentials, and main and countershafts. Should also work well for run out on rotors.

The price on this tool was not bad at all and the build quality is definitely there. Magnet is plenty strong for what I needed. Was easy to use very adjustable and accurate as can be expected.

To be honest I was skeptical buying this. That changed once it arrived and I unpacked this device and examined the built in quality! Finely machined materials, completely flexible and sturdy! It is well worth the money if a shade tree mechanic like me can determine the run out on my truck rotors for a few bucks. Heck, if the run off is out of spec, well, no choice: buy new rotors. If it’s in spec, guess what, there’s something else that’s causing the problem and buying ten pair of new rotors won’t fix the problem! A great addition to the shop for sure. Once I take off the front tires tomorrow, this little baby may have already paid for itself.

Magnets a bit weak, fell off the couple times I tried it. Set up right on a solid piece of metal. Other than that it seems to work pretty well.

Great kit. The dial is definitely worth it alone as it is smooth and shows movement quite well, but the arm just seems to not be able to clamp firmly and can be moved with a small nudge. But I don't think the dial itself could impart enough force to move it so maybe it's just me being picky.

The dial is good but when you try and tighten the arm when its curved you have to hold it straight up and tighten the end at the dial before you bend it otherwise the the lock near the base won't tighten down fully and you'll get inaccurate results

The digital display is easily read and switches from millimeters to inches with one button press. The quality is certainly up to the standards I would expect for this price. A useful tool for aligning cutting blades and routers. I am very satisfied with this product.

The indicator is pretty good, the probe moves very smoothy, and the readout is large and contrasty. The magnetic base with the gooseneck are of interesting design, I had to get used to the goosneck. The trick is to pre-tension it using a threaded collar, and then it can be cinched down with an eccentric lever near the base. Once it's tightened, it keeps position quite stably.

I'll hang on to it, but over all quality is VERY low. Putting enough tension on the cable means the adjustment is almost at its limit. Even then, use it with kid gloves. Once it wears out (cable stretches) I won't be replacing it with the same.
