Good solid USB based laptop type drive for newer Pcs.
Older bluray drive /reader writer for up to bd xl 100gb. (Speed is only 2x for them) . Also did several dvd copys and burns successfully. Not for UHD disks as too old to have UHD capability. I bought a second after verifying the drive worked well for most blu ray disks. I have recently upgraded to new win11 pcs and hardly any new pcs will have CD rom or DVD/Bluray drives included. System came set to region 2 DVDs, so you have to set to region 1 for us disks. Google using vlc to play blu ray disks to find instructions on software downloads needed. No software is provided with the drive. Both drives I received included the cable needed to connect to a Usb 3 port and the cable length was about 15" long, adequate to connect to most PCs ports.

Excellent drives at a great price!
I’ve now ordered two of these drives, which I’m using with two Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny PC’s serving as media centers. Both drives are Panasonic-branded. Each drive works well in the Lenovo 12.7mm I/O box no matter whether I feed it a regular CD, a DVD, or a Blu-Ray. Burning performance is also as expected. Both drives are marked with older dates—one from 2012 and the other from 2014. It appears both of them are new as advertised despite being 10+ years old. Also as a side note: only one of two drives came with the USB to SATA cable. If you’re going to use the drive internally, you won’t need it. If you plan on using this as an external drive, know you might not get that cable. I’ve tested the one I got with one of the Lenovo OEM drives that I removed in favor of these drives, and it ran the old drive as expected. This is the best deal you’ll get on a name-brand internal 12.7mm Blu-Ray drive anywhere. I’ve now had good luck with two, so I can safely recommend these.

it works
tried two of the $70-80 drives. Both failed after just a couple of disks playing. Bit the bullet and paid the extra $30 . . . it works, at least so far.
