Superior exterior paint
I can't believe it has taken until now to discover this paint. I'm now in my 60s and have owned a number of Victorian/Edwardian properties, all of which had sash windows. Original 100year old sash windows are lovely - and if maintained, will last for ever! They do however, need to be maintained. My present property has eleven windows - that's 22 panes, 11 frames. Over the years I've used solvent based and water based exterior paints - Dulux, Crown, Ronseal etc etc. They are all much of a muchness. I prefer sovent based for exterior work - but drying time is a major issue with sash windows. There are too many points of contact between the frame and the individual sashes. Water based paints seem to crack and turn powdery after a few years. The 750ml tin of Rustoleum satin universal is nothing short of a revelation: it has a very low viscosity so it applies and spreads really easily. The downside is that it is definitely NOT non-drip. For such a low viscosity paint, it covers exceptionally well. For me, it's single biggest advantage is that it dries much more quickly than conventional solvent based paints. I tend to dismantle the sash windows to paint them so being able to handle the sashes after a couple of hours - and put them back in four - is a big, big plus point. As others have observed, the paint has a powerful odour - not sure what the solvent is, but it's unlike the odour from other solvent based paints I have used in the past. Obviously, proof of the pudding, so to speak, will be longevity. Maybe I'll come back in a few years and update this review.

Great paint bar none!
Well with a large metal double garage door to paint I wanted an easy to apply, good covering reasonably priced paint that gives a nice looking finish and you know what, I think I found it. The British racing green shade out performed my expectations. Fantastic coverage meeting the claimed 11 sqM for a 750ml tin, this must be a first for any paint I've ever used! Yes it is a little on the smelly side, but previous experience shows the smellier the better (and boy have I used some smelly paints in my time) as far as finish life is concerned.Yes as others have said it is a bit runny, but if you take your time and don't over load your brush the thinner paint actually makes putting it on easier, getting it into all the contours of the door was straight forward, one thing I did find was not to over work an area or it can lift off, best to let it cure for 48hrs and give it a second touch up coat which is what I did. Clean up was also straight forward, soak the brush in proper blue brush cleaner for 10 mins, then work the cleaner into the bristles and wash out with washing up liquid and warm water. So in conclusion, yes I'd highly recommend this paint, being strict with my brush technique it was very easy to work with and the result is very pleasing, hopefully it will last many years.

Garden Pots Upgrade
Needed a few larger plastic pots to be black not brown and this paint was ideal. Also brought and old iron patio table and chairs back to life in black. The whole job took an hour plus another the next day. This is excellent paint but absolutely must follow the directions. If it is very hot outside do not do it; brush will quickly become a stick. Stir well. Apply and brush rapidly. Do not keeping brushing over. If you miss a little bit then leave it. Catch it the next day. Brushes will clean with cheap white spirit. Agitate brush vigorously, wrap in an old rag to clean off then do the same again. It will be fit for use on second coat. I left every item I paint to harden off for a few days before use. Results perfect and a rather nice patio setting created from junk.

It will be perfect for whatever you want to paint!
Okay so the paint is perfect well to me. If you can paint and have patience, I don’t see you having a problem with it.I bought a 750ml thinking I’d need to apply a several layers but a smaller tub would have been just fine as the paint is really pigmented and two layers was enough for me.The paint went on easily, apply lightly as it may begin to drip/ droop but no worries with that! As soon as it’s close to being dry use you finger nail to flatten it. You do not need to dip your paint brush deep into the paint as a little goes a long way.Yes! The first layer may appear patchy but when the second goes on it looks incredible. Take your time, enjoy the process.Odour: A little strong but isolate the area where possible and open up a window or twoFinish: Dries great, glossy, no cracking, gives off a plasticity look750ml - goes a LONG way! Multiple projects maybe

Brilliant finish on external doors
Brilliant stuff!I purchased this in gloss white and gloss black to paint the inside and outside of my front and back doors. Minimal prep is needed with this paint - a light sanding to remove any flaking paint and a good clean with soapy water. The paint it quite thin, but spreads easily. I painted the entire door using a brush and it's dried with a brilliant finish with no visible brush marks.I used the gloss white on the inside of both doors and found that one coat was enough to cover lighter colour but 3 coats were needed to cover a medium grey on the inside of the front door. The gloss black covered over white in one coat with a few touch ups needed.I've attached a before and after of one of the doors - the black gloss was used over other worn and faded black paint. The photo is the result after just one coat. The small tins go a long way, I only needed 1 small tin of black to do the outside of front and back door with extra paint left over. The white I needed two small tins, as one door needed 3 coats to cover, but I have plenty left in one tin.
