Works good but the one handle seems to be bent?
The one side handle does not line up with the other side. This is not shown in a photo of the product or in the video. It looks like it came bent. Other than that, it is a serviceable lower priced hog ring pliers.

Worked for 1/2" hardware cloth
This has worked for my projects involving 1/2" hardware cloth as well as trap building and repairs with a simple modification. I wrap a elastic band around the grips to put closing pressure on the hog ring while I maneuver into position (so the hog ring doesn't fall out of the jaws- same function as a closing spring.) The angled aspect comes in handy from time to time. I have numerous hog ring pliers. This one seems decent. I've been pretty abusive to it with leaving it wet and out in the elements and it's still fine. The grips could be more comfortable, that's why a one star deduction. I might wrap some cushioning around them at some point. The pliers can make the hog ring as snug as needed. I recommend this tool.

Get these if you need to get the job done
I was tempted, damn tempted, to get the cheap $5 imitation set of these, but I am so glad that I didn't. I was replacing some seat covers on Corvette seats, and only needed to do about 10 hog rings, but they had to be TIGHT and were up inside the seat, which was a beeyatch to get to. I'm so glad I bought these quality pliers so I could do a good job on my $1000 seat covers. If your job is worth more than the $20 difference in price, get the good pliers! The spring that holds the ring inside in indispensable, and the handles are comfortable enough to get a real tight crimp. I only used them one time and may never again, but I'd rather have bought these than had my expensive seat covers look like turd because I cheaped out on the smallest part.

but they worked wonderfully for my automotive upholstery project and made short work ...
Having never owned or used a set of hog ring pliers I wasn't sure how much I should spend to make sure I got a quality product. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality when these arrived since they were in the lower end of the price spectrum, but they worked wonderfully for my automotive upholstery project and made short work of the aftermarket hog rings that I purchased, which were a heavier gauge than the original Toyota hog rings I was removing. I will definitely be recommending these to friends, who will also be doing a similar project as I did.

Good, but not 45 degrees!
Beware, there are NOT 45 degrees, but more like 5! I'm sure they'll help a little bit more than straight in some places, but just be warned.

Excellent Quality
I was happy with quality of this tool. The spring that keeps tension on the ring is handy. The only problem I had was the Seymore pig rings I also ordered were a fraction of an inch too large to fit the pliers. I just crimped them down a little and it worked fine. That would get old for someone planning on doing more than one set of seats.

Super comfortable
These pliers are the bees knees. Spring loaded so the hog ring doesn't fall out, the angle makes them more comfortable to use in most positions. The rubber handles are comfortable to use over and over again. The only issue I have with them is sometimes the hog ring will strike the opposite face instead of sliding past and so I will only be able to close them partway. Obviously, for hogs, this is intentional, but it's nice to cinch them up for upholstery.
