Shure MV6 USB Gaming Microphone for Streaming & Recording

Just a disclaimer that I am by no means a microphone or audio connoisseur. This mic is actually my very first external one used primarily for gaming/discord chats. Really really simple set up procedure, just one cable that's all, the software you get is basic enough but you can still do a lot with it. Great features in thge software with good background noise cancellation, pop filtering and a high pass filter if you require. This along with all the audio features in discord then the mic acts brilliantly. I am that annoying guy that usually has background music coming through his mic in the chat while we are all trying to play a game haha but I was pleasantly surprised with this as the noise cancellation and the correct adjustments to gain, my chat could not hear any background noise whatsoever, whether that was my music, football on the tv or the rattling of my mechanical keyboard so that was a big big plus! The design is fairly basic but clean enough and slick, the green isn't my favourite colour but if that's one of my main comlaints I guess the mic itself does a great job. The sound quality is fantastic and I really do love the mute button located on the body/casing of the mic, its a flat non-press button so a simple tap is enough, I just wish the light indicator was a little better because it's almost impossible to tell if you're on mute or not at a simple glance, unless maybe if you're in the dark. Overall, I am delighted with the purchase and I can not reccomend this mic anymore, especially for the price. Brilliant value.

Bought this after looking for a standalone mic for recording my voice. Overall, I’m really happy with it! It’s quite literally plug and play. Although be mindful that the box comes with a usb c to usb c connection. I had a spare cable that let me plug into my old USB slot but worth remembering in case you don’t have one. Once plugged in you should download the Shure app in order to have a proper look at the microphone and enable/tweak settings. The little stand it comes with is also great, although I wish it had the ability to adjust height. I will say though that it feels sturdy and is made of metal which in my eyes is a plus. Due to the nature of this kind of microphone (dynamic), you don’t need to worry too much about sound isolation or noises nearby, but you do need to speak closely into the microphone in order to get the best sound from it. After recording few samples, I was really surprised with the quality of it. It’s not perfect, but is completely on par with a lot of the voice recordings you’ll hear on YouTube videos. You get a full sounding voice and sounds far more professional than recording from your laptop or phone. I’ve tried this on Mac and Windows without issue too. I would recommend this for most people, especially if they don’t want to have a massive microphone stand setup or a mixer to deal with.

More than excellent, had for less than a year now and provides excellent sound quality and versatility to my gaming setup in terms of whether im just randomly chatting to playing games in a competitive environment, sleek appearance and functions extremely well out of the box

Bought this mic to replace a cheap one I had. This mics quality is impressive for the price. The software it comes with is so so, but paired with other software the mic is very clear. Have had no issues whatsoever with it.

Great mic, I use it for video voice over and it picks up clear crisp sound with great noise cancelling. I gave it 4 stars, because the "touch sensitive mute button" on top, is actually a pain, every time you go to adjust or move this thing you can accidentally mute it without realising. I would have preferred it was on the back or somewhere you are not likely to grip it when moving position.

I spent weeks looking for a great-quality, mid-range microphone to use with my Mac computer—one that worked out of the box and allowed me to use it for video and voice calls while enabling those I speak to to hear me much clearer. The Shure MV6 is amazing—it has a great, well-weighted desk stand, it's a plug-and-play device, and it has an application you can download to boost the EQ. However, as a total novice, I simply wanted a great-sounding microphone, and this is it. The Shure microphone is great quality - it's got a simple mute touch button on the top, and whilst I know it can be used for so many applications including podcasts, I just wanted it for it's most basic use - and I am delighted.

I use this microphone as part of my home office setup for work calls and the sound quality is excellent. No echo in the room. Very solid construction and works great via USB C. Looks great. I have also had the SM7B in the past too, but that needed a separate cloud lifter to become usable so cost 2-3x more. Highly recommended!

I’m doing more vocal recording and my existing built in microphone was inadequate. This provides all the functionality I needed and matched with the bundled Motiv Mix software allows all the adjustment I needed. The desktop stand is solid and well made but as a tall man was a bit low for my liking so I ended up buying the matching boom mic stand. I think the bundled 1 meter cable is too short and if you buy a boom mic stand you’ll need a 3 meter cable. That feels like something that should have been included. It was simple to set up and although there are cheaper microphones available this is solid metal construction and satisfies my needs and had great reviews

If you want anything close to the SM7dB but don't want to spend that much, this is a no-brainer. The MV6 gets you most of the way there for a fraction of the price. I've used a handful of USB mics over the years and the MV6 is the first one that made me stop fiddling and just record. Setup was genuinely plug-and-play over USB-C — no interface, no phantom power, no drivers. Within about two minutes I was tracking. What surprised me most is how rich and full my voice sounds. It's a dynamic mic, so it rejects room noise and keyboard clatter really well, but the detail and warmth you get almost feel like a condenser. For podcasting, streaming, and voice recording it hits way above what I expected at this price. A few things I appreciate: - Voice Isolation and the Auto Level mode do a great job keeping levels consistent without me riding the gain. - Headphone monitoring straight off the mic means zero-latency playback while I record. - The Shure app (Motiv) gives you real DSP control if you want to tweak, but the defaults sound great out of the box. Minor notes: it needs a boom arm or stand (not included), and like any dynamic mic you'll want to speak fairly close to it for the best tone. Neither is a dealbreaker. Overall this is the easiest recommendation I've made in a while. If you want that Shure dynamic sound without the price or the XLR setup, the MV6 nails it.
