Easily measure in tablespoons when needing for recipes.
I have found my go to for beeswax. I love how these are already in small bead form allowing it to be easily measured by tablespoon. No more guessing for me when I need to measure it. I used to by beeswax in the form of bricks and always had to guess on measurement. Saw this product and tried it out. Fell in love with it so I will definitely buy again.

Not pure beeswax!
I am a beekeeper and regularly melt beeswax straight from my hive. I bought this because I needed to wax the foundations for my new hive frames and had just sold all of my available beeswax. I needed pure beeswax, which this claims to be. It is not.How do I know? I’ll tell you!First, it doesn’t smell anything like beeswax. But because beeswax can lose its scent if it’s been heated to about 170°, that isn’t definitive proof of anything. But adding to that suspicion is that if you melt beeswax at a temperature high enough to make it lose its scent, it will also be discolored and this was not discolored.I was suspicious, but figured maybe it was just old enough that the smell had dissipated. Nope! The definitive answer came when I melted it down. Beeswax has a relatively low melting point of 144-147 degrees Fahrenheit (62-64 degrees Celsius). I put it a third of a cup of these pellets on my electric burner and set the temperature to 64 degree Celsius, as I do with all my beeswax. An HOUR LATER, it wasn’t even thinking about melting!! I cranked it up to 70..still nothing. At 75, it started softening and at 78 it finally melted. It meets the melting profile of a blend. Given the higher melting point, I suspect carnauba wax, but it’s definitely not pure beeswax and I won’t be using it on my beehive component because I can’t be sure what’s in it.Edited to add: after writing this, I bought a different beeswax and had enough to wax all but one full frame and one side of another foundation. I was desperate and decided to wax those with this wax. I marked the frames so I could find them later. It’s now months later and I’m winterizing the hives. Although I knew this wasn’t pure beeswax, I still didn’t expect this: * every* other frame has drawn comb *except* these two. They didn’t touch the fully waxed frame at all, even though it was in the center of the super. Interestingly, In the frame with one side of the foundation waxed with beeswax, that side is filled with pollen and capped honey. The other side looks like a brand new foundation with not even a hint of comb.So it turns out it probably won’t harm the bees, but if yours are like mine, they’ll just avoid it like the plague! If you’re using this for candles or something, it’s probably fine. If you’re expecting beeswax though, this won’t fool your bees.

Melts easily
I used this product to make twist-ip lotion sticks and will be using it in some handmade lip balm. It also mixes easily with the other ingredients that I use to make these things .
