A fun way to play old favorites
This little device has been so much fun to play with ever since I got it. I strongly recommend you purchase it with Onion OS. I do believe that is the better of the two operating systems. The device comes with a Micro SD to USB reader as well as a Micro SD card already in the unit, so there is no need to purchase another one. However I did find after cloning the OS to a new Micro SD card from a more reputable brand that I did get slightly better performance. For people stating that it does not work or they are having issues getting certain games onto it, please remember that you will need to provide your own roms for many of the games you want to play. There are a lot of way to do that legally if you Google it.Anyway, great little device. Strong recommend if you want some simple portable gaming and to feel like a kid again in the 90s.

Fun little console
Fantastic little emulator. Super fun, very easy to set up, and very customizable.I bought this to play some old favorites and I didn't like playing on my phone, so I found this and got it. I had it shipped with OnionOS, and I would recommend anyone do the same or get it installed. I also recommend getting another SD card, but so far the generic one it came with hasn't caused me trouble. The build quality is pretty good, I've seen some defective ones but that seems to be uncommon. The buttons are accurate and feels good, the screen is high quality and you can configure the colors to get the retro-vibe dialed in, and all of my games so far have worked very well. Features like the game switcher and WIFI connectivity is a plus, and the battery life is great too. It ships with a ton of games, most I removed though and a lot didn't work (not a problem for me honestly). One con I can think of is the size of the console is still a bit small despite this being the plus version. I could see people's hands cramping after a while, but at that point you should just take a break and go outside. The thing autosaves when you power it off anyway. Overall, great for anyone who have a basic understanding of computers and who like to tinker around with stuff. I'll update my review if something comes up.

Pretty great, if you can load your own games.
Overall it’s a pretty cool little device. I had been considering buying my son an actual classic gameboy, bought one, and regretted it. I guess I forgot how badly the screens were, and actual gameplay. So I then looked for an emulator, found this device, and ordered it. The games it came with did not work, but I found someone locally who would upload games for me. The SIM card it comes with is crap, unbranded, and wouldn’t load games, but I was able to buy one from the person who loaded the games for $5 so wasn’t a huge deal. If I didn’t have this local guy it would’ve been a bad deal but luckily, he was available. I guess you can figure out all of that on your own, but this was way easier for me. Had it come preloaded with perfectly working games I’d give 5 stars.I also wanted other games not preloaded such as Pokemon, Mario, sonic games and whatnot, so again the local guy who loaded all of these for me made the purchase worth it. Planning on buying myself one as well and repeating the process.

Words cannot describe the awesomeness. I think I'm in love.
This thing is a video game miracle of modern science- you can now have every single old game in your pocket 🤯. There is definitely a learning curve with how to use it, interface and saving your game progress (makes all the ridicously hard games less frustrating). Also adding games at first can be tricky. But reddit and YouTube are your friend here, you can find detailed instructions and help on every aspect. Just do yourself a favor and buy it, more than worth the $, honestly the best thing I have ever bought myself.

Great for all ages, especially those wanting to relive our 90s/early 2000s childhoods
I gifted this to my 9 year old for his birthday yesterday and he was immediately obsessed. Out of the box, it has a plethora of games ready to play, but there are a couple of things that I recommend doing right away.Update the memory card with a higher quality, name brand one, like Sandisk or Samsung. You can get one for $10-$15 depending on the size. The one it comes with has plenty of storage, but it has no brand listed and who’s to say how great the quality is or how long the life is, so better to be safe than sorry.Follow a YouTube tutorial to install the operating system Onion (if it doesn’t come with it already, like mine did). It opens up a whole new library of games for different consoles that are compatible with this device, and installing it is a lot easier than it sounds. Onion even has a desktop installer that simplifies everything tenfold, and will even format the memory card for you all in one without any extra steps.Learning how to install new games is essential as well, but again, a lot easier than it sounds. There is a megathread on Reddit that has most everything you need in one place. Just download, drag, and drop into the memory card’s Rom folder for the specific console type (gameboy, PS, etc.). You don’t even need to extract each individual zip file. With Onion, you can also utilize a program called Scraper by pressing Y in the games list to find the box art for every game installed on the device, if there’s not one already, so the picture will pop up instead of just the highlighted name of the game on the list. So far, I am finding that certain PlayStation files will not work, so you need to find the ones that will (unsure of the name off the top of my head, but will update if I come back to this post). If nothing else, the stock card already has an extensive list of games to choose from.So far, I’m fairly impressed and as a kid, I would’ve freaked out if I had all of my gameboy and console games in one device. Miyoo is a reputable brand as far as these devices go, and I appreciate the kit that this device comes with as it has all the necessities I look for in a new device in one (screen protector and case), that not a lot of other listings are offering at this price.
