Very easy to use
Bought this because it's compatible with EVs and will automatically go into Standby mode when not in use (many OSB dongles do not do so on EVs). I use it with the Car Scanner App on my Phone, and it was quick and easy to set up. Not had it long enough to discover its full potential, but looks good so far.

Versatile and effective
There's no easy way to test an OBD reader other than how easy it connects and readings it gives. O chose to use Car Scanner as I've used it before but in the rather nice quality magnetic box you get a little booklet showing the QR codes for most of the popular free or free-to-try software. Probably the most difficult part is locating your OBD port which in my case was over on the left side of the driver's footwell. not where I was expecting it. Once plugged in it lights up to confirm it's working and you can then connect from your phone. In my case I was able to connect from within the app with no pairing codes required but your experience may vary. Once connected you gat a mass of live data options and most home mechanics won't need or in some cases understand a lot of them. Some things are useful to anyone, things like coolant temperature, voltages, misfire data and so on. Most useful are the vast database of error codes but I am very fortunate in that none were identified on my car so I can't check that. Compatibility seems to be extensive and it has an auto-sleep function meaning it can be left connected, though I have to say I always remove them for peace-of mind. This seems to be one of the better-quality units currently available but I feel it would benefit from having its own, dedicated software. Like so many of the tools I own, it won't be used most days but when I do need it nothing else will do.

Modern data supply device requiring a rented app for full use.
Review of vLinker iCar Pro 2S OBD2 Bluetooth Adapter. This iCar Pro V25 is a small device to plug into a vehicle OBD2 port to provide faults codes, sensor readings and more from within the vehicle, the device made by VGate a well known brand in more modest diagnostic tools for vehicles. The specifications for the device are impressive with a full list of connection protocols found on the huge assortment of makes and brands of vehicles this device may be plugged into, however this OBD2 adapter merely a transmitter connecting to a mobile phone by bluetooth which will require one of the many available OBD2 apps before this device will communicate. We should not forget vehicle diagnostic equipment can cost tens of thousands for vehicle dealers or thousands for high street garages, this device at a fraction of the cost will only do a fraction of the diagnostics, that said it is useful but highly dependant on the app version used, basic free apps provide basic info from the device, pro version apps at extra cost release more information from this device, be aware one only gets what one pays for in both OBD2 diagnostic tools and apps. That said this device will provide fault codes and supply graphs amongst many other features, it will not diagnose the fault like expensive units, it’s function is to merely transfer information from the vehicles onboard computers for the user to analyse, find rectification procedures and rectify, the user has to be fairly knowledgeable in the vehicle mechanics, vehicle operation, its equipment and the internet to gain full use and understand this device. For me this a useful device to keep in the glove box with chosen app already installed on my phone, the data and fault codes it supplies have to be researched on the internet to provide answers, this adapter just reads and transfers data not provide solutions or the tools to rectify. This OBD2 adapter is a modern version compared to others and works on electric and hybrid vehicles, however it is only as good as the phone app chosen, rented pro versions are usually required to get the full range of usage from this device. The Pro 25 adapter works well, supplies a lot of information in different formats to those whom understand and can use it however it can be bewildering to those whom do not understand the data it provides.

Great little OBD reader, compatible with many apps
I already have an old Vgate device, and it has saved me a lot of money being able to diagnose and tinker with my car, including updating settings instead of having to go to the main dealer. I use it on my BMW F10. When I saw this latest device I thought it was time for an upgrade. The vLinker iCar Pro 2S OBD2 Bluetooth Adapter is a top-tier tool that combines impressive build quality with user-friendly functionality. It’s clear the manufacturer has put significant thought into the user experience, including a manual and QR codes for recommended apps that make setup straightforward. I noted that unlike my previous OBD scanner there were no LED lights on this one, not as pretty, however, it is worth the sacrifice given that this has a low power saving sleep function. The adapter connects seamlessly to my Android device, it also connects to IOS but I haven't used this, supporting a wide range of apps that use the ELM 327 protocol. It allows users to read and reset Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) and access a vast array of data, including engine parameters, fluid temperatures, and more. The Bluetooth 5.2 technology ensures reliable and efficient performance, making this a versatile and cost-effective tool. Beginners may find the setup process and app usage a bit complex, as there is a learning curve involved. Despite this, the device offers extensive functionality via free 3rd party apps, and a robust build. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enhance their vehicle diagnostics with a reliable and efficient OBD2 adapter. The apps I use are Bimmercode, Torque (Pro version) and Car Scanner - all confirmed to work well with this device.

Not bad
This is a plug and play device suitable for any car with a OBD2 port. This is quite a compact reader, others I have seen have been somewhat bulkier and pairing was a breeze. I use this with my old VW Polo to read fault codes using the recommended software. Is noting however thought you may have to pay for premium software to get the full benefit from this device.

Essential glove box item
I've always kept one of these in my glove box as they're super handy to diagnose faults while saving money having to pay a garage to do it, especially if it's something that you're then able to fix yourself. Having loaned my old one out I thought I'd give this one a try. It connected with no issues to my Samsung S22 android phone using the Torque app which allows me to read fault codes and view real time data from my car (2017 Vauxhall Astra 1.4T). You can also look up fault code details online directly from the app. Although this device works on most post 1996 petrol and post 2001 diesel vehicles it is also able to support more modern hybrid and electric vehicles so would be great if you own one of those or are considering getting one in the future. It's well made and can be kept safely in its box when not in use which features a magnetic closure. Even if you only use it a couple of times to diagnose some simple easy to DIY fix faults it will easily pay for itself.
