Fun and engaging activity for the kids
As a parent of a 3 and 6 year olds, this kit definitely have us an afternoon worth of fun and excitement. The kids were certainly engaged the entire time was they awaited what mysterious treasure they would find. The curiosity and fascination of the digging aspect has led to my oldest wanting to become a geologist! The pieces they discovered are not super valuable in themselves, but the intrigue of the activity itself brings about so much additional value. Highly recommend for your young ones, as silly as it may seem. Great quality and nice looking gems came from this dig kit.

Fun to dig
My grandson loves digging for stuff and loves space, so these are right up his alley. The digging is about the same as with similar items I’ve purchased. A bit of a mess is unavoidable but the time spent watching him discover the treasures inside is well worth a little cleanup!

This thing is solid!
It's fun, educational and unique! My 10-yr old nephew had to use a small hammer to actually get anywhere, and I'm not sure that is the point...?! The kit comes with a print out of lots of facts about the planet and the stones you'll reveal. The stones themselves are pretty small, about the size of a nickel. They are super cute though. This would be fun for any youngin' wanting to spend some time to find treasure while also learning a bit about the solar system and it's planets. It does come with a small brush and wooden stick to help dig. Maybe he'll be Indiana Jones someday!! Anyway, definitely do it on a pan or some newspaper as it's quite messy, and chalk-like substance will get everywhere.
