So far this ecollar is very easy to use and very helpful teaching my pup boundaries for acceptable behavior. The battery life is good so far and ease of use makes this a good tool for training. Just try it on yourself first so you know how strong the different levels are, then I followed an online tutorial. The tutorial has you very gradually increase levels until your pup reacts slightly. Then you have an idea of your dogs tolerance without hurting them. Good product.

While I can’t review this particular product yet because I just bought it, I highly recommend the dogtra brand collars over any other brand. I’ve used other models before and they’ve all been consistently effective. The adjustable range allows for precise correction level without over or under stimulation. I just purchased this model. Haven’t used it yet but I like the compactness of the device, and the extra features that it offers over the ones I have previously used.

This is my first e-collar so I don’t have another product to compare to: but the 280x is compact, feels sturdy and rugged, and works as advertised. Love the led light so you can see your doggo in low light conditions. Also the boost function is genius. Mine has a pretty low working level until a squirrel or deer runs in front of her and then the high prey drive kicks on so this preset feature makes it easy to get their attention when theyre locked in to chase mode

Ease of use and no-nonsense setup was greatly appreciated. Works perfectly at distances as it should. Well made unit and charging was a breeze with USB-C connections.

I did need to return this model, exchange it for the dogtra ARC-X however I do believe this unit is every bit as good as the one I exchanged it forThis is an excellent product. I've got a young husky, that should say it all, but she really has a mind of her own and I didn't want something to punish her I wanted something to teach her to engage her to share time with her. This product gives me the ability to do just that. I can communicate with her non-verbally and verbally to create a connection between the two of us. This is a quality product not like some of the "cheaper" products that you can find. This is a professional piece of equipment that allows the average dog owner the ability to take care of their four-legged family members. I opted for this unit for several reasons the slim fit the fact that it will fit multiple sizes of animals as I have a 110 lb GSD I have an 80 lb Ridgeback and a 60 lb husky after undergoing a four-way bypass surgery I needed something to help me get through to this husky, then I realized I really need to get through to the others so the fact that it has three family member capacity was key in my purchase. I am very pleased and happy that I was able to find this product.

As a dog trainer I have used e-collars for about 30 years. I prefer the Dogtra collars over all the others. I recently just purchased the new Dogtra 280X. Dogtra has made alot of upgrades and added new features with this collar. The new 280X E-Collar Receiver is small is size and not bulky like some older models. The E-Collar Strap is the same type with all dogtra collars. This 280X includes a beacon and locate light, making it easy to spot your dog in low-light conditions. In addition, they come with removable contact points for non-stimulation training (dummy box). The Nick/Constant button is a large button in the center of the Remote Transmitter. The Rheostat Dial is still just as easy to use turn up/turn down, and now the dial has a Safety level lock which prevents unintentional level changes. The collar is three-Dog Expandable, and toggles between the three very easily.The collar has a new Boost Function that is nice when you need to increases stimulation intensity for immediate response. This collar does have Audible Tone and XPP (Extreme Performance Pager) Vibration that allows multiple ways to communicate with your dog. I really love that Dogtra added the tone when you are turning the receiver & collar on and off. In the past there has only been the light and sometimes it would be hard to see during sunny time. This collar is still very simple to use even though is has alot more features. Reading through the instructions once is all you need to learn the new features. I was very glad to see that Dogtra upgraded to a USB-C Charging cube for faster and more efficient charging. Included with thsi collar is a Test light, Belt Clip, Lanyard, and Owner’s Manual. I really like everything with this collar and will recommend it to others. I have never been disappointed with Dogtra's product.

I have used dogtra 33yrs, successfully. Dogtra 230c malfunctioned after 2 yrs continuous use.Purchased Dogtra 280x yesterday for those moments of wildlife chases, my 9yr old malinois needs minimal corrections otherwise.My malionis is trained, German, English, off leash, 100% recall and hand signals with the assistance of Dogtra 280C.One tap together, remote and collar, comes running immediately, he know he will be going out.This Dogtra 280x unit is a powerful, please check setting starting a extremely low regardless what setting was previously performance level use. 280c setting 52,280x setting 23.Also, I like is the turn on beep remote, beep turn collar, separately, rather than pairing. This insure both unit are on. Also, light on collar is a bonus.Ok, back to distance off leash, 100% recall !Thank you, Dogtra

This is the second pup I’ve trained on an e collar and this one certainly has more bells and whistles than the one I purchased 14 years ago. Strangely, our Wheaten responds much quicker on the pulse option than a shock. (An option not previously available to me.) I also really like the availability of lighting up her collar in the dark. Another great add on!
