This air filter fits and works as expected!
The media could not be loaded. I looked at many reviews for this air filter, and I was curious how so many people had "issues" with it fitting their vehicles, and many had no issues at all. I appreciated the lower price for the filter, and decided that I would give it a try myself for my 2014 Ford Escape SE.I noticed the "troublesome" tab that people had mentioned, and I recognized that the old (dirty) filter did not have one. Was this going to be an issue? No, all I had to do is make sure when I was installing it that I had that tab pointing straight down because the air box has a notch where that tab can easily fit, so no problem there.Next, I had noticed that the filter length seemed just the slightest bit too long, and I could not get the "ring" of the filter to fit into the groove on the edge of the air box. This seemed to be something that a lot of people complained about, and said that their filters did not fit. Well, it took me some time, and some muscle, but this filter DOES actually fit, but you have to use some strength to push it into place really hard. When it is seated properly, it is a VERY snug fit and the filter is not going anywhere! My final issue was getting the cover back onto the air box. It appears that the previous technicians have stripped the holes where the screws go in, and it was difficult to align the box onto the top of the air filter AND line up the holes for the screws to secure the top down. Well, I managed to do my best, but my advice is to make sure that you do NOT OVER TIGHTEN the screws when securing the lid. Doing this will create a situation for you down the road.Overall, I am very satisfied with the product, and I appreciate the lower price I found on Amazon! I hope this review is helpful, and check out the step-by-step process I provided in the video. Best of luck!

Tight fit.
This seems like the correct filter for my 2015 Escape but the fit is crazy tight. When I compared this filter to the one I took out, this one is a little longer, BUT if you look close, at least in my case, the old filter was twisted a bit to get it in and I twisted this one the same way and it was perfect. I think they are deceptively the same size, but slightly twisting makes it shorter and actually gives it a tighter seal.

The Amazon website might tell you that this filter does not fit your car. This may not be true. Look in your owner's manual under Capacities and Specifications. Mine was on page 307.This is the first air filter I have encountered where the filter itself is part of the filter housing. The filter will appear too large and indeed the plastic cap will not seem to make the groove of the lower half of the housing. Here's what to do: find a clean soft thing to put on the floor. Put the filter down on the soft surface with the filter media oriented vertically. Push down on the end of the filter until the filter media looks a bit zig-zaggy (compress the filter). Now you should be able to: put the rubber end of the filter over the part of the housing that leads into the engine block, then scrunch the filter enough so that the opposite end fits into the groove. VoilaPlease observe that somewhere in the old filter the lines of the media are not perfectly straight. This is evidence that someone at the factory or at the last filter change did the exact same thing you're doing. This is as cheap as you're going to find an OEM motorcraft filter. People please do your homework before down-rating legit products.

Fits 2017 Ford Escape SE
Genuine Ford Motorcraft replacement. It is a bit tricky getting the air filter on the car. Loosen the four bolts holding the air cleaner cover. Twist off the old air cleaner. Now for the tricky part. There is a small tab on the solid side of the air cleaner that needs to fit into a groove in the air cleaner box assembly. Orient the tab downward. Also, you need to use quite a bit of force -- pushing the air filter toward the passenger side of the car on its fitting. This force is necessary so the solid side of the air cleaner fits in a groove in the air cleaner box assembly. I know this is required every time I change the air cleaner and, still, I struggle with it every time. Hope this helps!

Definitely the correct OEM filter for my '18 Focus, and it DOES fit!
I've read some reviews in which people say they can't get the filter installed because of it being too long, incorrect size, etc. THAT IS NOT THE CASE. I have included a photo to show the new Motorcraft filter next to the original, factory Motorcraft filter. The other photos show where the singular tab goes into the housing, both before and after installation. As other reviewers have suggested, it does NOT require oil or banging on it to shorten it to get it to fit. In fact, DON'T do that.First, while making sure the singular tab on the back of the filter is facing DOWN, gently press the round opening into the engine side, then lower the back of the filter into the slot, as seen in the second photo. Make sure the singular tab is lined up with the slot. Then, just above the singular tab, press the filter IN toward the engine, as you lower it into the slot; see the photo of the tab in the slot. The two tangs in the filter housing will be OUTSIDE the filter, as seen in the center of the photo. Voila! The cover is ready to be lowered onto the filter housing for the final step of the installation. Don't over-tighten the 8 millimeter screws.Don't pay attention to those reviews that say it isn't the correct filter. It most definitely IS, you just have to follow the correct procedure to install it. It fits tightly for a reason; this prevents air from bypassing the filter as it's being sucked into the engine.I hope this helps! I'd hate to see people buy a lower-quality air filter because they think this Motorcraft filter won't fit. You can't beat OEM. There is serious value for the money here.
