Update: I've had one for 4 years that I love, but the second one ..
So I got one of these 4 years ago that I still have and is still fabulous, in spite of being used in the shower many times. See my original review below.I ordered another one and things did not go so well. The delivery was problematic and took a long time, and then when I finally opened the package, one of the feet was completely smashed, AND one of the two pieces that makes up the stem was missing. There was no way you could put this chair together or use it without it - and it's not a small piece!!I'm not sure if this is an Amazon problem, or a seller problem. Amazon did make it right for me, but I was really disappointed. I almost just ordered another one, because I want another one!! But now I might just get a different kind. Again, I want something for in the shower, because, 4 years later, I'm still injured. This chair is better for using in a small-ish stand-up shower than any of the other actual medical shower seats I could find. I have one of those too. I have been using my old drafting stool that I've had for 4 years at a kitchen countertop and it's great there too. Everyone likes how it looks and it doesn't have any rust or anything. I do live in a dry climate.____________This is a fabulous chair for the price. It is not as industrial-grade, heavy-duty as it might look in the pictures, but it seems solid. It's easy to put together, it elevates and descends smoothly and easily, the plastic seat and back rest look great - though they are plastic. I'm very happy with it. I am recovering from an injury/ surgery and can't put weight on my leg for about 3 months, so I needed something in the shower to sit/ perch on. This isn't made to be getting wet, so I'll see how it holds up. Most stools that are made for showers are so low, I don't understand why they're made that way, unless you're getting onto them from a wheelchair or something. With this, I can adjust the height, and I can be almost standing. It feels a lot safer than having to lower myself down to some really short stool, and it's easier to bathe, and I don't have to get the water blasted in my face the whole time I'm in the shower. The base is solid and doesn't slip. It looks stylish, so I'm hoping it's still in good shape when I'm recovered and I can just use it as a cool, extra chair in my place.

Excellent Stools
I have bought 4 of these stools. The first was lime green on wheels, no back. I love it, bought 2 years ago, still in fabulous condition, despite kids thinking it's an indoor xtension of the outdoor playset. I use it at my kitchen desk, but can also use it as an extra stool at my island, should I need to. Because I love it so much, and because I was a bit bored with my kitchen, I purchased 3 more to replace the cheap, falling apart kitchen island stools I'd been dealing with. It may have been ADD, it may have been wine, it may have been a complete misplaced sense of style, but I decided to buy three different colors. Red, blue, and yellow-orange. Now, to be fair, I thought the yellow-orange would be more orangy than yellow, but it's bright yellow. Like, kindergarten classroom, primary colors yellow. If you like yellow, you will be thrilled. If you prefer orange (as I do), you will be somewhat disappointed. The cherry tomato red is spot on. The bright blue is bright, as in sparkly. Got an "ehhh", but no real criticism. It helps that I have three girls who think these are the coolest thing ever. and they've each claimed their own. The males in my family say things like "not what I had in mind, but, eh..."But these stools are easy to assemble (my 8 yr old did one with assistance from my 6 yr old)- extend and lower sturdily (have to be mom-heavy to make it go down, but the kids LOVE to get it to go up) and they look good. Really nice-- if you ignore the red/yellow/blue/green impact. Full disclosure, I'm going to see if they will swap out for the orange seat, but since the chair is already together that may be more trouble than it's worth. But to sum up from this rambling review: Great stools. Sturdy and comfortable. Very bright. Make the room happy, make the kids happy. If I'd stuck with red only, I think even my husband and teenage son would have been happy. My only advice is don't get so excited by the 17 different colors that you attempt to order one of each for your kitchen. It may not turn out exactly as you planned. I'll try to remember to add a photo later.
