These softbox lights are excellent! The quality is great, they are easy to set up, and the lighting is perfect for photography or video projects. The set includes everything you need, and the carrying bag is a nice bonus for portability.

Everything is amazing! I’ve used them for a few shoots already. One of the three lightbulbs did come damaged, it flickers like a strobe light. I contacted NEEWER and their customer service was quick to respond and are sending me a new PAIR of bulbs!

This softbox kit will supplement a professional’s lighting arsenal or provide a beginner photog with two of the trade’s most useful tools. Commercially produced softboxes are said to have been popularized in the late ‘70s although makeshift prototypes providing even, near-shadowless light were around long before that. The NEEWER boxes are classic designs, unadorned except for a highly reflective, silvery lining that boosts the already generous output of the three enclosed 35W LED bulbs (each equivalent to a 350W incandescent bulb). Except by varying the light distance or other means, the brightness is not adjustable, so it is worth noting that the lights’ popular E26 socket accepts other photoflood lamps and household bulbs having a standard base and various wattages to conveniently achieve desired light ratios. The moderate size of the boxes makes them convenient and versatile. A well-designed mount atop seven-foot, quality light stands allows the light to be angled almost directly downward or straight toward the ceiling. Even without the diffusion screen, the reflective surface of the light is not harsh, but moderately diffused. I’d prefer that the diffusion screens were larger and joined with more Velcro than the four 4-inch strips placed in the center of each side, leaving the corners unattached. Depending on the setup, light leaks can be a nuisance. Perhaps the trade-off is in ventilation. In an unscientific test using an infrared thermometer, after 12 minutes of continuous use, the inside and outside of the box surface measured a near identical 81 degrees. The diffusion screen was 83, while the bulb itself was 102. Considering the room temperature was low 70s, the lights are pretty cool customers, but handle that bulb with care. Included are a carrying bag, thread protectors for the bulbs and an instruction sheet.

We get three lights, but most LED light bulbs can also work with this setup should you need one. The reflective material inside the hood throws a good amount of light, and the frosted bulb makes a good amount of soft light as is, but the soft white cover for the hood softens that up a bit more. My other LED lights are bright white, and frosted, so this allows additional lighting in the area as need be. This system is very easy to set up and be ready to go - practicing with it two, maybe three times, and you're good to go with it, and it should be a quick process of unpacking and repacking the setup - even if you have never used one of these systems previously, it is very understandable how it all works. Excellent system, easy to use, easy to understand quickly... Five Stars!

This lighting set has been a great value for the price. It was super easy for my daughter to set up herself. It provided bright & even lighting that's perfect for photography and video. The softbox diffuse the light nicely, reducing harsh shadows. The stands are sturdy and adjustable, and I sure do like that the kit comes with a carrying case for easy transport and storage. We feel that the quality and performance of this kit is a awesome deal for the low cost.

I think the core qualifications for this product are the brightness, the efficacy of the soft box and how easy it is to put together and take it apart. I'd say this achieves high marks in all those aspects making it completely easy and feasible to quickly put a studio lighting and take it down in a couple minutes. Better yet this came as a set so I have two to cover separate angles. I used it to like the photos posted with this review.

Neewer consistently puts out quality items and this lighting kit is no exception. The stands are easy to put together. There are 3 lights and 2 stands, so you do have an extra bulb. I would recommend keeping the bulb boxes or having some place to store them separately as if you have to collapse the softboxes for any reason you do have to remove the bulbs. The softboxes are easy to remove and collapse. The lights are not adjustable in terms of brightness but they work beautifully for my macro photography. I like that there is a switch on the cords for turning them on and off.

Made my videos and pictures so much brighter with better visuals. The difference is stark and I’m wondering why I haven’t gotten it all along.
