Therm-a-Rest MondoKing 3D Self-Inflating Camping Sleeping Pad

Bought this based on reviews from many sites (most notably Gear Lab). It is surely something you're not going to backpack with, but for car camping, it truly is almost like sleeping on a regular bed. Used it camping across the country in a tent and never felt any rocks underneath me. Then I used it on the floor in a home (it really is good enough to have as a 'spare' mattress....lower than, say, an aero-bed, but just as comfortable). Deflates and rolls up fairly easily (you do need to roll it tight to get the air out). I am 6' tall and like that the MondoKing is long enough that I can fit length-wise and still have a full pillow at the top end without it falling off.

I'm 54 so I don't camp like I used to. In order to enjoy the day, I really need a good night sleep. I should also add, that I trunk camp, not backpacking or anything. When assembling my gear for the first time, I bought an extra wide cot and memory foam pad (if you've been browsing Amazon for a sleeping pad, I guarantee the one I got has come up in your feed). The cot size took up too much real estate in my 6 person tent, and the pad when rolled up took about 1/3 of the cargo space of my car (it didn't compress). I got a better, more packable cot and this MondoKing to save space in the car for other "glamping" equipment... admittedly, this is not a cheap sleeping pad but I get a good nights sleep and enjoy my camping - and that's the point!!

Excellent Camping Mat

I do extended car camping in the Spring each year and finally ditched the air mattress and got a cot. This pad is just super. With the one way valves it's easy to regulate the firmness to just how you like it. It's a perfect size for the cot.I've used it 3 years now I think without any problems so it's pretty durable. The only thing I didn't much care for was the stuff sack which is really a bear to get the pad back into. Why do they do that? Also the bag can be used to inflate the pad. The is an attachment point neat the bottom of the bag that clips to the inflation valve. I managed to tear it out of the bag on my 3rd use. I use a 12v pump now. The pad itself is excellent. The stuff sack sucks.

This is one amazing air mattress. I have never liked sleeping on air mattresses. This one is a game changer. I am 300lbs and it was so comfortable I slept better on this than on my own bed. Five stars. Highly recommend!!!!

Pros- Great for camping. Self inflates with bag of air (please watch a video on how to fill up quickly). Can adjust how much air for firmness, pretty comfy, good quality, good length. Con- toddlers think it’s a trampoline, hard to sleep next to someone as they are meant for one person, even with a second next to them. Does slide a bit on the bottom of a tent.

Thin, weak nylon cloth covers all sides of the mattress. Very thin and very weak. Mine got a small tear in the cloth the first time I slept on it. I patched the tiny hole, but it got several more holes the next time I used it. The cover cloth is so weak that if you put your knee on the inflated mattress, it can be damaged. I now have more than 10 patches on holes I've found, but I've never been able to keep the MondoKing inflated overnight. It's just not made of sufficient material.

Endlich kann ich wieder schlafen. Handling ist sehr einfach. Ausrollen, eine Weile mit geöffnetem IN-Ventil liegen lassen, ggf. Nachpusten oder mit dem Packsack, der gleichzeitig auch ein Pumpsack ist, Nachbefüllen. Abbau geht schnell. Es ist ausreichend, nur 1x beim Luftablassen zusammenzurollen, der Packsack ist ausreichend groß.

Amazing. The most comfortable air mattress I've ever slept on.

The most comfortable sleeping pad I have ever used or slept on. With an R value of 7 it will no doubt be suitable for all seasons. It feels very durable & the soft, stretchy material just adds to the comfort factor. Sure it packs large & is not exactly suited or designed for hiking or backpacking but after several punctures & leaks with expensive ultralight pads I would much prefer the security of knowing I will get a great nights sleep so I will make the extra bulk & weight work. 5 stars!

Nicht billig, aber es gibt kaum was besseres in der Gewichtsklasse. Wenn man schon alles andere durchprobiert einen Versuch wert!

Best mattress ever for camping. We are using these in our RTT and they pack up small and are very comfortable.
