Dyson DC08 Silver/Yellow Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner

Hose was not attached to the hoover and mechanism to do this was either missing or broken. Had to glue this in place

I've had one of these vacuum cleaners for about 15 years now. It cleans fabulously, is easy to empty and easy to clean the filters. After about 5 years(!) it started to lose suction so I watched a youtube video, took it apart and cleaned the holes in the suction device. Good as new. After ten years something on the head broke, but turns out you can buy a new one and it's easy to replace. Then last week the motor went, so I thought it was the end, but youtube won again - new motor for <£15 and I replaced it myself in about 30 mins. Good as new again! Fabulous.

i keep using the thing because it cost so much but I find it awkward to use, heavy to carry (I am 5"4 and late fifties), and poorly designed. the dust bin is very hard to detatch, sometimes I have to belt it loosen; the attachment that holds the various tools catches in things and falls off; and the hose only swivles at one end so the damn thing is forever kinking. it does clean well, but so do others at a lower price and a lot less strain on the users muscles. it is also a complete pain in the #### to store because it won,t fold down and the image you see of the hose wrapped round the body is absolute b######s, it takes up too much space. I cant wait for it to break down so I can replace it with a clear conscience!

I purchased this after finally losing patience with my ineffective hoover. The difference is dramatic. I have found the Dyson to be powerful, reliable and easy to manoevre. I have been motivated to write this review because I was surprised to read other negative reviews.I have had no problems whatsoever since I purchased it over 6 months ago and would thoroughly recommend it.

I'd been advised by many people to buy a Dyson so I thought I'd jump in with the DCo8. Fantastic service from Amazon, a competative price and delivered promptly. Thank you please.My first impressions on this product were positive. It looks meaty, is lightweight, is solid in construction and the tools are conveniently located. It packs into small space and is easy to carry around. Even down to the rubber wheels, it has been well thought of up until this point.My gripe with the product is the telescopic wand. It collapses for easy storage and extends for use. However, you cannot lock it into place in use. Therefore, once the super suction has adhered to the floor, any forward pressure just collapses the wand. You end up just having to drag the wand towards you in one direction. A poor design fault.Great suction, power and low noise level. A good product except for this minor fault.
