Original Eau De Toilette Spray, 100 ml

It's always a problem writing reviews on perfumes/fragrances because it's so subjective. I started wearing Brut in about 1965 which is when it first came out it was really expensive and it's fragrance just blew me away. During the later 60s it became so popular even young women wore it especially mods there was a cult Following for wearing Brut. Then the company decided to do something with it and employed Henry Cooper the boxer to do adverts on TV splash it on all over how uncouth they called it brut 33 and put it in a plastic bottle instead of a nice glass bottle. It only had 33% of the perfume compared with the original but it was cheap even Wilko sold it and did up until it went bankrupt so it became a bargain basement cheap product for the masses instead of an expensive niche product. This new version in a different bottle it's glass again not plastic I think is very close to much older formulations. They say you get what you pay for well you get a lot more than what you've paid for with this product it is truly astonishing. The fragrance is old school barbers shop style called fougere which is French for fern but ferns don't smell the surrounding area where they grow may have a damp smell but that's all. I don't know how to describe the smell of Brut and when it first came out it was like nothing else, it was unique. There is a modern fragrance that smells very much like it and it is also worn by the current King and it's called penhaligon's sartorial it's very expensive and smells remarkably similar. I think one expression is punches well above its weight. If you want fragrances as a man on the cheap apart from this you could try Old Spice, tabac and Clubman. They all smell completely different from each other and all have remarkably unique complex fragrances.

Amazing smell. I have Creed, Halfeti, Tom Fords… this gets as many compliments Top tip - this is the only aftershave I advise to spray on clothes, it lasts much longer

The product itself is fine however the product arrived from a 3rd party seller damaged and they expected me to pay for the return. Contacted Amazon and refund issued immediately. Well done Amazon. I will not buy from this seller again.

Bought this for my husband as I used to love the smell of Brute. I had a quick sqirt myself, and could hardly smell anything. This is not Brute, this is a watered down imitation. Fortunately, my husband hasn't got a great sense of smell, so he shouldn't be disappointed :-).

Long-lasting smell, that stays on even after washing, Brut is the way to go anytime i want to get something affordable and okay

Bonne odeur vintage qui se dissipe assez vite. Si vous voulez la même mais plus persistante, il faut acheter l'eau de toilette en vaporisateur.
