This book was fun and had a lot of side notes from apprentices that were great. Received the book very quickly and it was in perfect shape. Add this to your Spooks collection by all means.

Wenn man dieses Buch liest, kann man sich genau vorstellen, wie John Gregory seine Notizen niederschreibt und Tom nachschlägt, wie er Hexen unschädlich macht. Für Fans der Spook Reihe, die in Deutschland leider nicht sehr bekannt ist, auf jeden Fall ein Muss! Ich empfehle aber es erst im Anschluss an die komplette Reihe und die Kurzgeschichten zu lesen, da sonst das ein oder andere spoilern könnte.

This book is a great reference material for writers who wish to save on some research time, you'll find the creatures here line up with traditional legends quite accurately. The writer of the spooks series beautifully set this book up like a prop from the book itself, it's a delight to read and I still have it even after finishing the series.

Undoubtedly the best book to learn how to fight the dark. A Joseph Delaney masterpiece. Must have for Spook Series fans.

The Wardstone Chronicles are one of my, if not my, favourite book series ever written and Joseph Delaney is a brilliant writer who can deliver chills and action as well as a gripping storyline and a cast of well drawn characters. This book is a replica of the Spook's very own bestiary that is mentioned frequently throughout the series. It's more than that though, yes it is loaded with interesting information about all of the dark, evil creatures that inhabit the books, but it is crammed with extra notes and plenty of short stories to appease those waiting in high anticipation for the next novel in the series. Delaney's trademarks are all over the pages, from the creepy, vivid descriptions to the assides written by Tom. There are also loads of illustrations that are detailed and match Delaney's descriptions perfectly as well as mirroring the eerie, spooky atmosphere that is clear throughout the books. If you are a fan of the series then this is a vital addition to your collection as it provides insights into the world of the Spook and the creatures he and Tom battle as well as some hints and developments of plot details.
