Sauder Carson Forge Armoire, Washington Cherry finish

Bought this and item was even on sale and still better yet the company is in Ohio. Fast shipping of course cause it was through Amazon. When arrived for some reason time we got ready to put doors on noticed a punch crack in door, not a good thing by this time. So we put the door on anyway thinking we are stuck. Husband did call following day to Sauder Company waiting to be put on hold, run over by the grain truck, you name we was waiting for it, NOPE didn’t happen. Best company to complain to, actually just telling them no explanation was neede, no photo was needed, no return was needed, just our name and address, got the new door perfect condition in couple days. Now try to beat this for great service. The product it self is wonderful in fact better that we was expecting, nice finish, drawers was great, hinges on doors are wonderful so they adjust perfect for this old uneven house floors, no complaints on our part. They get a 5 star for their service department too. But for a you put it together piece of furniture they certainly get a 5 star too, I even gave my husband 5 stars for putting it together, he said it was pretty simple to do. As soon as I can figure out how to use another one with inserts for storage and not hangers I’m getting another one, I really like this easy to assemble very decent looking piece of furniture, at least in our case we did not go wrong and the Sauder Company did not go wrong in their service department.

First off the good stuff. The product is sturdy, solid and well crafted. Instructions were by-and-large clear and easy to follow (but see below). The hardware was packaged in such a way as to make finding the proper piece for each step quite easy. Once assembled it looks nice, indeed just like the photos, and there is little complain on that score. There are a couple of things to be aware of, however. None of them would warrant not purchasing this item but just things you should know going into this project. 1st.In our experience, it takes two people to assemble and move this unit during the assembling process. 2d. The instructions illustrations can be a bit tricky and at one point we missed a crucial part of a step which resulted in our putting the shelf in backwards. By the time we discovered this it was too late to go back and so we had to improvise. Just pay special attention to which direction the cam side of the shelf is facing and you'll do fine. 3d. This took us about five hours to put together. Granted, we're not used to doing this sort of thing so if you're handy with a screwdriver and used to putting pieces of furniture together it might go quicker. Just be aware of the time it took us.

Yes it did take a long time to assemble, but end product is worth it. I love how the instructions were easy to follow, and video aides very helpful. I loved how everything was labeled making it easy to identify the pieces. I especially loved how the small pieces like screws and nails were in individual pouches and labeled. Nothing worse than trying to identify the correct screw by a photo. I had a little trouble adjusting the doors. I found that when your attaching the doors with hinges it’s best to turn in the screws a little because it’s difficult to line up the screws to the holes. It’s a very sturdy unit and I would definitely buy it again!

This was easier to put together than I thought it would be, and it looks great. It was also a great value and Amazon was fast about shipping it. The closet is deep and the drawer is really big. I love the look of the wood because it matches my end tables almost exactly. It took me about 3 hours to put it together, and it was easy to do. I just had to follow the directions and it slowly came together. I put it together by myself, but you may need someone to help lift the furniture off of the floor. It's heavy when put together. I really think that I will enjoy mine for years to come, and I hope you enjoy yours too. Thanks for reading my review.

First of all I was missing piece K. It was supposed to be identical to M, but with different predrilled holes. I received 2 M pieces so figured I would just drill the holes myself. I continue putting the product together and go to nail in the back piece. This is the thin board that is nailed in to cover the back of the armoire. The piece was not correctly shaped and is crooked. It sticks out on part of one side and is too short on the other side. The same with the top. So, I continue even though I'm getting really angry at the results of this product. I go to stand it up, and not really to my surprise at this point, it is wobbly. Terrible piece of furniture. Do not buy! I should be refunded for this POS.

I've assembled a lot of Sauder furniture over the years and I have to say that this piece was probably one of the most annoying. Not necessarily difficult,but compared to a desk I put together a couple of months ago, definitely not as straightforward. The assembly hardware comes jumbled together in one bag, unlike other Sauder pieces that have the hardware separated according to the step in the assembly process. Also, the assembly instructions are not very clear - especially where it concerns the assembly of the front feet. Because the instructions are slightly out of order, I wound up having to disassemble one part to assemble another part. Definitely not up to the standards I had previously experienced. Total assembly time was about two hours. As a side note, both side panels had some minor damage on the front edge near where the center door hinge gets attached. Considering how well packaged the unit was when it arrived, I can only surmise that the damage happened in the production or packaging process. Fortunately, the damage is hidden by the doors and was not significant enough to return the armoire. Once finally assembled and placed where I wanted it (on a level floor) the doors wouldn't line up correctly. I had seen this in other reviews but considering that I had assembled a number of other Sauder products and was very familiar with adjusting the doors, I didn't give it much thought. Long story short, I wound up placing a shim under one of the rear supports to get the doors to (mostly) line up correctly. They are still off by about a millimeter or two but it's close enough for me. In summary, this is a good (not great) product that should have the assembly instructions re-written with clearer step-by-step instructions and the hardware separated for those steps as in other Sauder products. Additionally, there should be better quality control and inspection of the individual pieces before they are packed. And as a final note, the actual product is a few shades darker than whats presented in the pictures.

Takes a while to put together. Instructions were clear and it looks great. Decent material.

Great armoire!!! Shipping was perfect and timely! It took some time to put together but it was worth it!! Great size.. not too big or small. Couldn’t be happier!!
