Cuisinart CSB-179 Smart Stick Variable Speed Hand Blender, Stainless Steel

I’m very happy with this Cuisinart Smart Stick hand blender. It has plenty of power, the variable speed control is convenient, and it blends quickly and smoothly. I especially like being able to blend right in the pot or container without having to pull out a full-size blender. It’s comfortable to use, easy to clean, and doesn’t take up much storage space. A handy, well-made kitchen tool that I find myself reaching for often. Definitely five stars!

I've had an immersion blender for years. It didn't work all that well, but I thought it worked as well as any would. Little did I know. I made a soup recently that needed blending, and the old immersion blender fell far short, so I gave up and used a blender...and that made a huge mess. I was done making excuses for that old immersion blender. So I did some research, found this, ordered it and it arrived today. Tonight I made a Broccoli Cheddar soup, used my new immersion blender to blend it, and it was perfect. I'm excited to find ways I'll need the rest of the tools that came with this, but I already feel the money was well spent!

I did a lot of comparison research before buying this, including looking at KitchenAid and other top brands, and this model consistently ranked at the top. It has absolutely lived up to that. The power is outstanding. It handles everything I’ve thrown at it, from crushing ice for protein shakes to finely blending garlic and olive oil. The results are smooth and consistent every time. The variable speed control is easy to use, and the safety mechanism is a nice feature that prevents accidental starts. I primarily use the blender and chopper attachments, both of which perform extremely well. The chopper in particular is a great addition and very effective. I haven’t used the whisk yet, but based on everything else, I expect it to perform just as well. This has become a go to tool in my kitchen. Strong performance, well designed, and versatile. I picked this up because I’ve been needing an immersion blender for some time and suddenly found myself in urgent need. Honestly, I picked this one because of the known brand, the attachments, and the price point signaled it wasn’t flimsy junk, but not excessive top of the line either. And most importantly, it would be here the next morning. On unboxing everything, I did find my predictions basically right. The handle unit itself is sturdy and somewhat heavy. It feels well built, made of metal and plastic. The blender stem seems durable as well. Everything fits and snaps together with a satisfying click. The various bowls are made of some sort of acrylic material that is likely quite durable, but I expect will crack eventually. I can’t say I love the button placements on the handle that much. They’re just a little awkward to press in from the natural grip position. Not the end of the world, but a trigger configuration would have been better than inset buttons. I was originally quite interested in the chopper bowl attachment, thinking maybe I could use it to make quick tuna and chicken salads and such, but that was disappointing. It’s just too small. I’m honestly not sure what this attachment would be good for. It’s not large enough to pulse chop stuff unless it’s totally dry, or there’s a very small amount of it, and so it’s sort of just a purée dish. Oh well. What I needed was an immersion blender, and that part of things seems quite good. I didn’t notice any strange smells or odors or anything. It’s just a decent quality plug-in kitchen gadget with a variety of (fairly narrow) uses. Overall, 4/5 stars. With a more ergonomic button placement and a wider chopping bowl, this would be an easy 5/5. As it is, it’s a very good utility for the price, but has room for improvement.

I like the way it feels in my hand. Easy to operate. Came with other attachments that I have used several times now. I feel like it is well built and sturdy for our kitchen.

I love this immersion blender and all the attachments. A must have for every kitchen. I have 2 and one at my son's house.

I've owned this product for 2 years. I used it less than 5 times with no issue for blending soup. I went to use it today, and it wouldn't turn on. I could almost understand it dying if I was using it constantly and burning the motor out, but for a product that's barely been used I would expect it to last more than 5 uses.

So far, very pleased. Sturdy feel works like a champ. I have been wanting one for some time. I had bought another brand but it didnt work. This works. This has been a great addition to my kitchen so far. The unlock and power button need to be pressed at same time. So place in hand with buttons facing away from you. Line up your fingers to be able to press both. This will get it powered up. Once going, you can release the lock button, but dont have to. Just know that if you stop, you will have to start that over again. Pretty sure this is the norm. Attachments are easy on/easy off, easy clean. Have yet to use the whisk, but can say that both the immersion attachment and the Chopper does a great job. This tool is something I have been missing in my life. I love not having to get out my big heavy noisy blenders all the time, especially for small jobs. What a game changer.

This is our second time purchasing this product as our last model lasted us nearly 15 years. It was used regularly and performed without issue! I am sure this one will be equally great!
