It's Good Music People, Give It A Chance
Here we go. Before I begin, let me state I am one of those that appreciates good music. I don't condemn bands with new members, it happens. It especially happens if a member dies. I liked the Motley Crue record with John Corabi, in fact it was Motley's best. This review is about Quiet Riot though. I liked the QR album with Paul Shortino, change is not always bad people. Kevin Dubrow was and will always be considered the classic voice of Quiet Riot. On the other hand he hasn't always been the voice of Quiet Riot, ex: the above mentioned Shortino album. James Durbin is an awesome talented singer and song writer. Road Rage is great. Does it sound like Metal Health, no. It isn't supposed to. These songs were written for now, not then. QR has always had a variety of songs such as heavy tunes, party tunes, ballads, blues and commercial friendly pop metal. Once again I am wandering, this is a review of Road Rage, so here we go. "Can't Get Enough" is a blues rock song with melody and harmony. If US radio would play new rock I believe it would get plenty of airplay. "Getaway" is good, it starts off with some almost mid eastern sounds before breaking into a cool mid tempo groove. "Roll This Joint" is a track with an almost 70's vibe.. "Freak Flag" reminds me of classic Quiet Riot. Quiet Riot always screamed out for the underdog. I can picture Kevin singing this next one. "Wasted" has a rocking groove with a f.u. attitude. "Still Wild" returns to the mid tempo groove with a message of still kicking it. "Make A Way" is another good one. "Renegades" picks up the pace a little, but not much. Another good song. "The Road" is a border line ballad about being away from family and home when out touring. One of my favs. "Shame" is the one I like the least. It is still a good song, but just doesn't do a lot for me. "Knock 'Em Down" is a cool rock tune with some blues and funk mixed in. Over all I would rate this a five star album. I would have deducted 1/2 star for the production. It doesn't make it unlistenable at all, just needs a little work. To sum up, highly recommended. To the diehards, Kevin would not have wanted QR to die. Listen with an open mind. Road Rage is very good! James Durbin sounds great. The songs are good.

Awesome
What a surprise!!! The best Quiet Riot cd ever. And F. Banali is one of the greatest drummer in rock.
