For an expensive (€40) mini bluetooth speaker, the sound is atrocious. Very thinny, no bass. No wide stereo sound. Very enclosed small sound even at max volume and bass boost on. This is the updated version with better spec of 20Watts - No way it's that. Maybe 10W at a push! I've heard way better from cheaper no-name brands. I bought this expecting more from Anker with that price tag. Not worth it. Look elsewhere!

I already own a Soundcore 2 and was very happy with it. The Select 2S is a bit larger and heavier but with an even larger sound! 12W vs 20W. And this difference in power is very noticeable. Bass Boost function really makes a huge difference too. Bluetooth range is about the same as the Soundcore 2 and is better then most cheaper speakers. Can use it all around the house and wont lose connection. Battery does lasts almost a week if you use it a couple of hours every day and the unit does warn you with LED colors about the charge status. Only small downside is this model does not display battery charge status in phones bluetooth menu unlike the old model does. However this model does support a userfriendly app that i haven't tried yet. So there's some new stuff here. Speaker will go power itself off when bluetooth connection is lost for too long so it won't kill the battery. Select 2S seems to wait twice the time for automatic shutdown which gives you time to finish a phonecall without having to manually turn the speaker back on. You can tell Anker is working on improving things with each product just by looking at the improvements over previous models. The speaker is pretty smart and doesn't allow itself to be blown up by too much volume. Downside of this smart volume function is that sometimes during play/pause/next track the volume starts either way too loud or too low for a second. I am hoping Anker will improve this small problem in the future models. Not disturbing in a serious way and to be fair this function allows you to use max volume all the time without worrying about blowing the speakers. Would have been nice if you had the option to turn the feature off somehow. Very satisfied with the unit and like everything out there its not 100% perfect but its as good as it can get and you cant beat the price quality on this one. Got it during black friday week. I'm actually considering buying a larger model from Anker in the future.

The Soundcore Select 2S delivers impressive sound for a speaker in this size range. The 20W stereo output produces clear audio with solid volume, and the BassUp feature adds noticeable depth without overwhelming the mids and highs. Whether listening to music, podcasts, or videos, the sound stays balanced and distortion remains minimal even at higher volumes. Battery life has been excellent, easily lasting through long listening sessions and outdoor use. The IPX7 waterproof rating makes it great for poolside, camping, or shower use without worrying about splashes or rain. It’s also compact enough to throw into a backpack, which makes it convenient for travel or hiking. Wireless connection is quick and stable, and the option to pair two speakers for stereo sound is a nice bonus if you want a bigger audio setup. One helpful tip is to place the speaker on a solid surface like a table or shelf to enhance bass response. Also, keeping it charged before longer outings ensures you get the full benefit of the extended battery life. Overall, this is a well-built portable speaker that offers strong sound quality, durability, and excellent battery performance for both indoor and outdoor listening.
