Better then expected in most areas anyway...
11/01/2012***Update*** (1 star) Stay far away from this, after one year, the battery has died, this is not worth the price. I will now try the CaseLogic version from a local store. 10/19/11***UP DATE*** (3 stars)after some tests that had astonishingly great results, I'll explain those in a moment, it seems the MOPHIE pack does not want to charge its own battery after charging the iPHONES while the phone is still attached. The work around is to remove the iPHONE, at which point the MOPHIE will charge it's self. I researched this and found others experienced similar issues. I have contacted and sent the item back to MOPHIE, I just hope they have the same result as me otherwise; I may need to rename them, MOFO's. As for the promised results of my tests, the MOPHIE did recharge the phone from 0% to 100% and had extra power. Also, if the MOPHIE is charged 100% and the iPHONE is 100% and you leave the MOPHIE on, it lasted for more than 18 hours with the battery icon showing the PLUG icon not the BOLT icon. I will update again, when I receive the NEW MOPHIE JUICE PACK PLUS or if they send the original back, at which point I will scream, never recommend them again and be stuck with a dead item, while being out $80. 10/14/11 NOTE: (5 stars) is for SELLER and Battery Performance: Here we go, the seller is an excellent asset to AMAZON. However, the item itself is a bit lacking. For $75 I expect a few things. Here are the problems plain and simple; the USB cable is the 3 foot one. Well, I don't use a lap top and I don't always have my computer on, so, yeah, the 6 foot for the wall plug would have been better. The item does NOT come with the wall adapter, really, for this price. Also, the item, JUICE PACK PLUS is not really compatible with the VERIZON version because the mute switch is a little lower than the slot. It's still usable though, I can switch the button, it's just a little tight and it does not interfere with the alignment of the top and bottom pieces. Please note, MOPHIE is aware and is updating the battery cover accordingly. As for the battery performance, item recharged 0% iPHONE 4 battery to 100% and still had power. Please be aware it recharges at .5 amps, it took nearly four hours with no phone use from me. Out of the four power LED indicators, the first three went out quickly but the last one just stayed on for what seemed like forever. The case by itself is super lite, it adds bulk not weight and some piece of mind if you were to drop it with the phone in it. One more thing, despite the YouTube videos, the back of the product has a slippery feel to it, not one that interacts well with human fingers, almost dropped the phone the first day when I put it on, sides have grip though. For the record I would still purchase it because I have enough LG and BlackBerry chargers lying around that ARE compatible with the MOPHIE recharge jack. For reference, the chargers I'm refereeing to have the bottom of a triangle base, look to them. Hoping this review helps.

Amazing product, if you actually buy a genuine one
First of all, I'd like to say that all the one star reviews for counterfeit products need to take it up with the seller, not on the product. If an offer is too good to be true (50% off a $100 item), it probably is. I bought mine directly from Amazon (select Amazon from the list of sellers) to ensure that I received a genuine product, I paid $99. Furthermore, I registered my serial number with Mophie to make sure that the product I received is, in fact, genuine. Now on to the actual review: The case came in good packaging, something I would expect for shelling out $100 just for an iPhone case. After opening it I found a micro-USB cable, the case, and an instruction manual. The case came fully charged (nice touch from Mophie) and worked right out of the box. It disassembles at the top to slide the phone in, and it makes a nice click when reassembling it, it feels very solid. It is made of quality soft-touch rubber and feels solid in my hand. Although it does add some bulk to the phone it still looks classy, and is much smaller than I expected, especially coming from a 2000mAh battery. All the buttons feel exactly as if I'm pressing the iPhone buttons, they click very nicely and give good feedback. Unlike other people (who probably bought counterfeit products) I don't have any problem taking photos with flash, they look exactly as if I didn't have a case at all. Although it does add a little bit of weight, it's nothing that I really notice when holding it, and it even gives the iPhone a nice weight and makes it easier to hold. The LED indicator at the bottom of the case works well too. I have tried multiple micro-USB cables with this and they all work perfectly, I don't see the USB assembly coming apart any time soon, and it seems very well made. The microphone and speaker work just as if there were no case at all, and all sounds from the phone come through with clarity, and people on the other end of a call can hear me just fine. The 2000mAh battery works like a dream. I love the standby switch and I usually leave the phone to drain to around 5 or 10% before I flip the switch. I can usually get about 2 full charges from the case (I haven't recharged my phone from an outlet or computer for 2 days now, which is really nice). I find that this case is much better than an Otterbox, and I urge anyone considering an Otterbox to seriously consider this one too. I really have no gripes about this product and I'm really satisfied with it so far, I think it is worth the $100. I would recommend this product.

Never buying Mophie again
I should have heeded the other negative reviews, they were spot on. Also, I (until now) never return Amazon items or wrote reviews, but this experience definitely merited one. I wrote the following review to save others the pain I experienced. I tried 3 different battery cases (yes 3) all of this iPhone 4 model and interestingly, at 3 different prices from 3 different vendors. Here's how it went down: I had a Boost case for over a year that served me well and over doubled my battery life. Unfortunately, the top part of the case was cheap and eventually cracked so the phone didn't stay snug in the case anymore. Even though the battery was fine, I had stopped using it because of this inconvenience. I wanted to get a new battery pack, and had heard mostly good things about Mophie. Also just FYI, my existing iPhone battery still lasts me a full day with normal use. I bought the first case with Retail Packaging for $60. The fit wasn't as snug as the reviews led me to believe it should be, but it seemed authentic enough based on another customer's review of how to tell if it was fake. I fully charged it and then tried it out on my phone when the phone battery was at 20%. It only charged to 60%. I was surprised by this since with a 2000mAh battery it was supposed to over double the alleged 1400mAh iPhone battery (a bit of math suggests the battery was only worth about 560mAh effectively). I assumed that I had a dud, so I gave Mophie the benefit of the doubt and returned it and ordered another one, this time in the "Universal Packaging" for $50. After receiving it, I again checked it to see if it was counterfeit, but without the Retail packaging, it's more difficult to verify. Nevertheless, I fully charged it up and repeated my experiment. This one was a total fail. It made the phone make the "power connected" tone every second as it was connected/disconnected constantly and wasn't able to charge the phone at all. I blamed myself for buying the "Universal Packaging" version as it was probably refurbished or fake (even though it said it was new). Ok, third attempt. I purchased the Retail Packaging again, this time from a third vendor (the original vendor no longer had stock) and now it was at $70 (I really wanted to believe). Repeat the same experiment (run phone down to 20%, plug in fully charged battery case and turn on), and again, just a 45% boost. At that point, I decided I was done with Mophie and would be returning my third case. I continued to use the battery over the weekend since the RMA couldn't go out until Monday. On Sunday, the charging case was knocked down from a coffee table to a carpeted floor (about 16") and the sensitive USB micro connector didn't like that. That insignificant movement caused the battery case to be rendered useless. It would no longer charge the phone, the USB micro would no longer charge the case, and the computer would no longer recognize the iPhone when the iPhone was in the case (but with a regular 30pin Apple connector it worked fine). After the rest of my experiences with Mophie's cases, it was the icing on the cake (and one referenced in several other reviews). In summary, I'm never buying a Mophie product again. I'm giving a Maxboost case a shot now. Hope it works out...

Really works - extended my battery life from poor to excellent
The battery life of my new iPhone 4S was terrible. I am a heavy phone/email/internet user for work, averaging about 6-7 hours per day or more on the phone in some capacity. The iPhone 4S battery lasted up until about lunchtime (which is barely half the day for me). I purchased the Mophie Juice Pack "Plus" Case for the added battery life AND for the protection of the phone. Wow! What a difference. Backtrack slightly: before the Mophie, Apple wanted me to disable half the features of the iPhone so that the battery would last longer than lunchtime....What? I bought the iPhone for the functions, and now they wanted me to disable them! Duh! Now, with the Mophie "Plus" case (not the Mophie "Air") my battery life lasts easily all day and most of the next day. In fact, the Mophie has much better battery life than the IPhone 4S battery, and typically at the end of the day my iPhone battery has not even been used....still running off the Mophie case battery. Plus it allows really good access to all the buttons of the iPhone, so no big issues. Here are the pro's and cons: Pro's: 1. Battery lasts all day and more 2. Protects the iPhone with hard shell casing 3. Allows direct access to all buttons on iPhone 4. Super easy to get IPhone out of the case (seconds) - and yet the case never comes apart on accident 5. Case comes with and allows USB charging - don't have to take off the case AND don't have to use Apple cable or connector 6. Mophie case has button and lights on bottom of case that you can use to check "how much power left" - never use this feature because the Mophie case power almost always lasts all day, and then switches to iPhone's battery - so who cares how much power is left. 7. I am sure there are more, but these are all top of head. Cons: 1. Case gives the iPhone bigger size - with this much battery power, I can understand why, and I don't really mind it, but others might 2. Takes hours for the Mophie case to recharge. Have not timed it, but I charge all night, so not an issue here. (FYI - There are 4 LED lights on the bottom of the case that blink as the case gets charged, so you "know" when it is fully charged when all four lights blink). 3. The camera hole on the back must be too small, because pictures that require a "flash" usually get washed out. When I have really needed the flash (not often), I have taken the iPhone out of the Mophie case (quickly) and taken my pictures. I strongly recommend this case - for the battery life, and for some reasonable protection of the iPhone. NOTE: This is the first and only battery case I have ever had to use...most of my previous cell phones had the option of putting in a much larger battery to meet my power needs....perhaps Apple can think about that as they design iPhone 6, 7, and beyond.

Now I can go a full flight with plenty of charge, and warranty replacement policy is superb!
My iPhone 4S, configured to access MS-Exchange Server with McAfee EMM, could not go a full day on a single charge. And, since I use ForeFlight on the iPhone in-flight aboard my Cessna 210 as a backup to ForeFlight on my iPad, and Google Maps for driving to client offices after I arrive, I struggled to have enough charge on the iPhone at the end of the flight to make any phone calls, let alone cancel my flight plan with Flight Service. Then I bought the Mophie and all my problems were solved. Seriously solved as I could now go a day and a half minimum between charges, even when flying with it. But, after about 4 months of regular use, the micro USB charging port broke free of its mount in the Mophie, making it impossible to attach the charging cord. Before tossing the battery in the recycle bin, I decided to write Mophie and learn what, if any, options there would be for repair. To my surprise, they sent me an RMA number with prepaid USPS shipping label within 24 hours. When I finally got around to mailing it to them, they turned it around in 48 hours by shipping me a brand new Mophie! On a side note, I also had the Mophie-branded leather case. The belt clip had broken on it, so it was useless to me. I placed the Mophie battery in the broken case for return with a post-it note noting the case wasn't included in the RMA but it, too, was broke. In the box with my new Mophie battery was a brand-new replacement case (also purchased on Amazon and reviewed by me). So, am I happy with my Mophie? Of course. Do I recommend you buy it? Absolutely. Should you be confident that it will be well supported by the manufacturer? Let my positive experience speak answer that question for you.

Protective, Great Battery but Flash Pictures are Flawed
I recently upgraded to the iPhone 4S and was looking for a case that would provide protection for ALL areas of the phone and still allow me some discretion on looks and style. Some cases are thin and functional but offer very little protection, while others are too bulky and won't fit in my pocket. I wanted something that would protect my phone, be functional to my needs and allow me to slide my phone on my desk and counter top and not have to worry about nicks or scratches. Having the ability to place my phone FACE DOWN without scratching the surface was a necessity. I prefer not to keep my phone facing up as people walking into my office could read messages that popup. The Mophie Juice Pack Plus offers everything that I was looking for...plus. The case is all black with rounded edges and a sleek design. It's narrow around the screen and doesn't add much bulk to the top or sides of the phone. Most the bulk is on the back where the battery is located. It adds about 3/16" (.5cm) to the sides and top, 1/2" (1.2cm) to the bottom and 3/8" (.8cm)to the back of the phone. At first I wasn't looking for a case with a built in battery. However, sitting back and evaluating at my needs it only made sense to have one. My job requires me to leave within a moments notice and sometimes the 15% left on my phone won't make the trip. I'm a stickler for allowing my battery to drop to 5% prior to charging my phone to prevent battery memory issues. I'm aware that the iPhone has an Lithium Ion Battery and in "theory" prevents memory, but experience trumps theory. Pros): - Protects ALL areas of the phone - Raised edges on the front to allow the phone to be placed FACED DOWN without scratching the glass surface - Provides edge-to-edge screen protector without pealing up edges - Great design and iPhone 4S fits snug into the case. Doesn't move or slide around. - LED indicator lights - Matte non slick finish which doesn't show minor scratches or fingerprints - It allows for me to charge the phone from 0% to 100% Cons: - Vibrate button is not centered (The Mophie case was originally designed for the iPhone 4. The iPhone 4S's new design moved the vibrate button down a few millimeters. However, it's still fits within the opening as you can see from the pictures). - Color options (for me I actually liked the red in the 1500mAh but that color wasn't an option for the 2000mAh - I'm aware that this is just a preference but's something that I pondered over prior to ordering just the Black for the Plus) - When taking picture in low light where the flash is heavily used, the pictures are washed out. Overall this case is a great investment for me. It's protective, allows me to get up and go at a moment's notice, works with the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4, fits in my pocket and gives me 200% battery when both are fully charged. The issue with the camera and washout that other have mentioned does exist. **UPDATE** After having the device for less than 2 weeks it has already failed. I plugged the device into the wall using the iPhone wall charger and the cable they provided. The light began to flash and the phone began to charge so I went to bed. I woke up (8 hours later) to find that the phone was now at 96%, no longer charging and the same 1 light was still flashing. I unplugged the device from the wall and pressed the silver indicator button on the bottom of the device. No lights appeared and the device didn't even take a charge. I contacted Mophie support and they told me that I needed to fill out a form on their web site and then they would send me instructions on how to send back my device. I didn't want to go 2 weeks without a case and since I was within 30 days I decided to return the product to Amazon. I have since received a new Red - Mophie Juice Pack Plus which seems to have fixed the issues with the lights and charging. In the end I ended up returning the case. After extensive review of other cases and products I've decided that the case needs to provide functionality for all aspects of the phone. For me, if it can't take pictures at night without washing them out, then I need to find something that works for me. Other may not need the night flash, but for the rare occasion that I do need it, I do want to have it.

works great, however
The Mophie works great. does just what is says it does. I would recommend this for your iPhone 4 or 5 (keep in mind that the 5 is a different size and model number). After using this product now for over a year, I find the need to amend my review. It does work great, that fact has not changed. There are two aspects about this product that I'm not crazy about. I still recommend it though. 1. It is bulky. But this fact is not a show stopper for me. However, it would be better if it were not so bulky. 2. My #1 complaint with this product is the charging cord, or mini USB. The cord that comes with it has a slightly longer tip than any other mini USB. The charging port on the Mophie is on he radius of the case. The molded portion of the male end of the charge cord interferes with the cord making snug contact. A regular mini USB will not insert far enough to 'lock' in and will keep the unit charging. Which is why their cord has a slightly longer insert. Most of us have numerous mini USB cords from a variety of products. You would think they are all the same so I grab one to charge this up.., it will not stay in all the way and comes loose. After an hour or so I think my phone is charged.., but noooooooooo, the cord came loose! It's just a bad design. Mophie could have easily put the charging port on a flat side so this would NOT happen.

I evidently got the real Mophie and it is hands down the best choice.
After trying a number of different solutions to adding additional power to my phone to get through several days of use with lots of wifi linking to my laptop or use in remote locations- the Mophie is hands down the best choice. Save yourself the time and frustration of trying different products and get one of these. I have read about complaints about the USB port, but if you treat it with reasonable care it will last just fine. I have had two of these in use for quite a while now and they are great. The Mophie case with integrated battery is the same size as an Otterbox case and it lighter than any other battery/case that I have seen or tested. Skip the other choices of cases with the solar panels- they take a week of sitting in the sun to recharge. You will just be frustrated with their performance. I have dropped my phone multiple times and even on hard concrete and the Mophie case did its job in protecting the face as the edges are beveled above the display (nice feature). You have the choice of when you want to charge your phone and I don't see what the problem is flipping the little switch. It's a much better option than others where it automatically charges your phone until the battery is exhausted and then keeps making noises as it tries to turn itself on again to charge, only to cut out 30 seconds later. There was obviously some engineering and field testing that went into this product. It works so well that I am surprised that Apple isn't the manufacture. It seems like it is rare to find an extremely well performing item but when you do- it really nice to get to write about it.

A great battery case
Well designed. Works great. We have an iPhone 4 that works and works well. We had despaired about finding another battery case for it until this came along. As described, well packaged and very promptly mailed.

Soddisfatto
Prodotto ottimo. Grazie.

Buy the original from Amazon directly and you won't regret it
Befofe purchasing this case I was somewhat apprehensive due to the very variable reviews. Having now used the case for the past 6 months I can emphatically recommend it. I suspect a number of bad reviews regarding this product are due to the fact customers are buying from third party sellers (currently the default option if you just click buy from the front page!), rather than directly through Amazon themselves. Admittedly this is cheaper, but you run the risk of buying an inferior counterfeit case. My advice - select the 'New/Used' option & under 'New' select Amazon as the seller. The cheapest seller may be selling the case for 1/3 of the price Amazon are - but remember if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Battery cases are all about the quality of the components to get adequate protection, good battery life etc. Amazon will send you the genuine product and it's worth the extra cash. Anyway, on with the review of the product. Compatibility I have only used this case with an iPhone 4S - it fits brilliantly and works perfectly. Build Quality I've used Mophie cases previously on older iPhone models and they've improved their build quality since then. This case adds a reassuring weight and bulk to the phone. It's hard to get used to at first, but now I prefer it & hate using my iPhone without the case on. The volume & power buttons line up perfectly in the same way they do with Apple's own hideously overpriced bumpers. The two halves of the case click together perfectly leaving no loose connections or rattling of the phone inside the case. It's pricier than most competitors cases & this gets you a superbly manufactured bit of kit. Function You charge the case using a micro USB plug. From memory the cable comes with the case but not the plug. To get around this simply plug the 'plug' end of the USB lead into the plug that came with your iPhone. The case can be charged with or without the iPhone within it. If iPhone is in case, the phone's battery will be charged first and then the Juice Pack's once it has reached capacity. I have used both batteries until they are completely flat, plugged the case (with iPhone) in overnight & in the morning both batteries are charged to capacity. The button at the bottom of the case lights 0-4 white LED's at the bottom of the case to indicate the charge left in the Juice Pack. I tend to turn my Juice Pack on (via a switch on the bottom corner of the case) when my iPhone has <10% charge remaining. It then charges my iPhone to 100% with some Juice Pack charge remaining. It is more efficient to do this than to leave the Juice Pack on all the time according to the manual. There is a cut out on the back of the case for the camera lens and flash. Dust can gather here after a while so I'd recommend removing the case and briefly wiping the back of the phone before using the camera. The front of the case is somewhat protected from scratches as the bevel of the case prevents the screen's glass from touching a surface on which it is placed. However it affords no protection to the screen directly. Appearance I must admit the phone does look more attractive without the case, but this is marginal. Few people use an iPhone without a case, and as cases go I think this one looks pretty good. It adds interest to the phone since friends recognise it as an iPhone, but want to know more about the case! It looks like a well made bit of kit. Negatives It is pricey, but in my opinion worth it. I wish they used the standard Apple dock connector for charging, but I suspect this would add significant bulk, hence the choice of micro USB. You can still charge/sync the iPhone using the micro USB, but obviously the phone must be removed from the case before connecting to docks etc. The increasing prevalence of AirPlay devices may render this negative point obsolete in future. Overall Buy this case. Don't think about it, just buy it. It's excellent. Obviously not all third party sellers are selling counterfeits, perhaps none of them are, but to my mind it's worth the extra cash to buy from Amazon and know you're getting the real deal. If all these reviews were based on the genuine article I'm convinced they'd all be 5 stars.
