Premium Extra Large Acacia Wooden Bamboo Bread Box | Bread Storage & Organizer | Kitchen Organizer with Rattan Pull-Down - 16"x 10.5"x 9"

I am writing this review after buying two of these boxes way back in 2013. I originally bought one for my mother, then had to buy one for my sister cause she loved it so much. More than 10 years later, and this bread box is still going strong. Considering how long they've lasted, I'd say that you get a pretty good bang for your buck. It is large enough to hold about 3-4 store bought loaves of bread, and I've definitely noticed them staying fresh longer. Overall, an incredible bread box.

The quality is excellent. I have put it on top of my desk against the wall and stored lots of little misc stuff inside that was making my desk look too cluttered and put more on top which works great as a shelf, I've got a glass full of pens and elongated items such as stylus, file, etc. on top.I plan to drill a hole in the back so I can insert my battery charger thru the hole and have a place to charge my cell phone inside the box.I'm glad the box doesn't look too "antique-y". That was what I was most worried about. If they didn't use the hinges (which work exceptionally well) with the little "curley-q" detail, it would have somewhat of a more Asian style look which is what I REALLY like. But oh well, the hinge detail is tolerable, maybe even adds a bit of "soul" to my contemporary modern style. (and the little woven panel in front looks a little Asian - maybe like bamboo a little bit - since the front panel is lighter in color than rest of box, it keeps the whole box from being too dark..)I will probably buy at least one more when we finish remodeling - will probably buy one for storage of my vitamins (more decluttering) on the kitchen counter - great product with a good "feel" of quality about it. Highly recommend.correction: the hinges are on the bottom and the front panel is "pulled down" rather than "pulled up". So the "curley-q" detail that is on the top is strictly for decoration and it not part of the hinge. Rest of review above still holds

I purchased this antique style bread box from Mountain Woods because I'd concluded that the sleek stainless steel box we had was for some reason making bread and rolls spoil quickly. Hopefully the wooden box from Mountain Woods will allow better air circulation and solve the problem; time will tell.The Mountain Woods bread box arrived very promptly (they ship from their factory by FedEx, for which you have to pay). The bread box was carefully packed to protect the finish. It's clearly well made and well designed, with care and attention paid to the way in which it is put together and stained. The front is held in place by a magnet, and there is a slight recess on the top center to facilitate opening.Two "caveats" (not problems, but worth noting): First, the bread box is much lighter than it looks, so if you are expecting it to weigh what it would if it was solid oak, for example, you are in for a surprise. This is not a criticism of the product, but just be aware of what you are getting. Second, the weight and finish can mean the box will slide on a polished marble or granite counter. This is easily remedied by applying very small self-adhesive rubber "footings" though perhaps Mountain Woods might want to include them. Again, not a big deal at all.

The wood is really beautiful. The rattan front is level and even. The storage area is great, holds 1 loaf + 6-pack muffins + 6-pack bagels comfortably. The problem is the assembly...the left side rear was improperly aligned with the bottom, top and rear cross pieces, so that the left rear corner never touches the counter top. Not level and it wobbles. It's not warped, the pieces are visibly off. I solved it by gluing a rubber washer to the bottom left rear. No one will notice. Hand crafting...I get it. Also the magnet on top of the door is too small if anyone is listening.

After much searching to find a wooden bread box (they all seem to be metal anymore) and a lot of going back and forth and reading of previous reviews, I finally decided on this breadbox and I love it. It was shipped in a decent amount of time and I took it right out of the box able to use. I opened it up to air it out over night and filled it the next morning. There is plenty of room inside for your bread products and one of the things I was happiest about was the space on top that I could use. Many are so narrow you can barely fit your salt and pepper. I was looking for that extra space and was more than happy with it. I have wanted a nice wooden bread box for so long and still when I walk into my kitchen and see it on my counter it makes me smile. It all looks so much neater now.

Although this appears sturdy, the wood is very thin - the front metal corner pieces on the door are merely attached with 1/8" decorative nails -I had to return the first one as it was not level and wobbled on the counter. Nice inside room, but too pricey for the cost. Also, the front is unfortunately labeled with the manufacturer's name! I don't like advertising, and to remove it leaves holes. I was in desperate need of a bread box and looked at dozens on line - this was the largest one I could find, But its cost does not match its quality.

This bread box is not as big as I thought it would be. BUT...the dimensions were in the description - so that is my fault. Having said that, I love this bread box. The color is beautiful. It has light and dark color wood. That is not as obvious by the picture. So, this would go with either type of wood cabinets. It is plenty big enough for my needs. It does not take up a lot of space on my counter top. It will hold 2 loaves of bread - one on top of the other and I can also get a couple packs of hamburger or hot dog buns in there. I also have a pouch of kitty treats in mine. The delivery was fabulous. I received when I was told I would.
