Simple Scanner for Peace of Mind
The media could not be loaded. picked up this portable scanner for checking hotel rooms during business trips and its pretty straightforward! been using it for about three weeks now and appreciate how compact it is - fits easily in my laptop bag. really like having different scanning modes all in one device instead of carrying multiple tools. the aluminum case feels sturdy enough for regular travel and those simple controls mean you dont need to be tech savvy to use it. few things to note tho - battery life varies depending which features youre using and sometimes you need to scan areas multiple times to be thorough. comes with clear instructions which helped get started quickly. tried it in different environments and its sensitive enough to pick up regular electronics so you need to learn which signals to ignore. makes checking new spaces quick and simple. the ai mode is interesting though takes some practice to understand what different alerts mean. just remember to charge it fully before trips cause theres no backup battery option and maybe practice at home first to understand how it responds to normal devices like wifi routers. nice having something portable for quick checks without drawing attention. definitely read the manual carefully before first use since theres lots of features to figure out.ββββββββββββββββ

An amazing little multipurpose alarm, though a bit pricey
I'd been on the lookout for something like this for a while now. There have been a number of times I'd wished I had a simple little motion alarm I could deploy without too much hassle, and this one absolutely fills that need. It is extremely easy to use, and it takes zero effort to set it up as an alarm. Not only does it work great as an alarm, it has a list of other useful features that aren't just gimmicks.Pros:+ Very compact package, but it packs a serious punch.+ The alarm is quite loud, and when used as a personal SOS device, I cannot imagine anyone would stick around once activated.+ The light and IR sensors are pretty good and have fairly consistent detection. I have used it with great success both at keeping the kids out of our snack cabinet, and detecting them trying to sneak out at night.+ Thanks to its small size, it is very easy to carry while traveling. The Bluetooth distance alarm is a super nice feature I didn't realize I needed until I had it. Traveling with kids it is easy to get distracted and not pay attention to a bag you've set down, but this alarm solves that issue.+ Can be used as an emergency flashlight in a pinch, and the flashing red/white lighting mode makes you quite visible.+ It is *extremely* easy to use. Flip the on/off switch on, then click the menu button to select which mode you want to use. After a few seconds, the light on the display will go out and it will be armed.+ Standard USB-C charging and a very long battery life despite its diminutive size.Cons:- Not really a con so much as an observation: While the icons basically make sense and aren't too hard to remember, pressing and holding the menu button to access the flashlight feature is pretty unintuitive. Other than that, there really aren't any cons to this thing.- I feel that it is a bit expensive, even considering what it can do.Overall, as someone who travels somewhat often, especially with family, it is nice having this little alarm. I love the size and functionality of it, and the fact that it can fit so many different use cases. If you're considering a small, portable alarm that you can deploy almost anywhere, look no further.Note: To give you a better sense of the size, I've taken a picture of it next to a LEGO minifigure.

Good but not perfect
I think this alarm is a pretty cool idea, and the hardware seems pretty solid. The simplicity (once you figure out what the little icons represent) means that you can quickly set it up in one of the modes and expect it to do the job of startling someone who is getting near/into something they shouldn't.I tested all of the modes except the bluetooth one, and they seemed to activate and alarm as expected. But you need to test each new scenario when setting it up to make sure that the positioning and sensitivity meets your needs and performs how you expect.I tried to emulate the "alarm hanging on the hotel room door handle" use-case and noticed that if I very slowly moved the door (causing the alarm to swing back and forth slightly while hanging underneath the handle), as long as I moved it slowly enough that the swinging alarm didn't contact the door, it wouldn't set off the alarm. It seems like in that situation it would be better to prop the alarm on the floor so that when the door swings open it contacts and knocks over the alarm. The other thing that I was curious about was how to turn off/reset the alarm. It appears that you cancel the alarm sound and lights when you press any of the buttons (it doesn't require you to turn the on/off switch off). So it might be less of a deterrent to quick-thinking/quick-handed intruders when you are not present and in the vicinity to hear the sound. (If you just quickly grab at the alarm, you may invariably press a button and disarm it.)If this alarm came with a radio remote to arm/change modes/disarm and set off/cancel the alarm, I think that would make it 5 stars. It does give you about 10 seconds to situate the alarm after using the buttons to activate the mode, but this would be easier if you could position the alarm first and then use the remote to set the alarm. And if you were using it temporarily to alert you if a bike moves at a cafe, this would allow you to disarm the alarm before you go to move the bike. Without the remote, you basically end up setting off the alarm whenever you want to disarm it, and that can draw unnecessary attention to your location.I'll definitely keep this in my travel bag for a little more piece of mind.
