Outstanding Sturdiness and Strong Spring
This Satol Umbrella is one of the best umbrellas I’ve ever used – and I’ve used quite a few. While I generally like a full-sized golf umbrella, I like the fact that this one folds up to make it easier to carry than a "regular" full-sized golf umbrella.Right out of the box, I could feel the powerful spring in the automatic open/close mechanism—it opens with a strong, satisfying snap that really feels sturdy and reliable. (Just make sure you’re prepared for the initial pop – and not standing near anyone. It really surprised me how strong it was when it opened.)Somewhat unique (in my experience) is the push button CLOSURE feature. I think the design is pretty smart, too. Since the spring is so powerful, my natural tendency is to point the umbrella at the ground and then push the handle down to complete to closure of the expanding shaft. (You don’t need to be strong to put your weight on the handle and push it into the ground.) And, to accommodate this method of closing it, the umbrella has a sturdy metal plate at the tip that seems to be made for this very purpose, so the umbrella is undamaged when using the ground to close it. As I said, a thoughtful design. The overall construction of the umbrella is top-notch, especially with the 10-rib design and vented double canopy, which helps it withstand strong winds without flipping or bending. I’ve been out in some fairly intense weather, and this umbrella held up like a champ! The yellow trim along the edges also adds a really nice touch, making it look sleek and stylish. It’s practical too, as the reflective strip improves visibility in low-light conditions, which is especially helpful when walking at night or near traffic in the rain.Despite its large coverage, it’s surprisingly lightweight and compact (14” long and about 3” in diameter), making it easy to carry and store in a bag.If you’re looking for a reliable, good-looking umbrella that can handle rough weather and still open smoothly every time, I can’t recommend this one enough! Perfect for golf, travel, or just everyday use.

Nice and big but not a traditional Golf umbrella.
This is a big umbrella with a 4-foot diameter canopy. It's a little smaller than most golf umbrellas and the build quality is a little lower. Not to say it's not good quality - just not as good as a high-quality golf umbrella. But it's probably less expensive.Unlike most golf umbrellas, this one has an extendable handle. So, it's not made with a single length handle made to fit a golf bag length. This is more of a large everyday umbrella that offers a lot of coverage. The handle extends and contracts for easy storage in your car. And the large canopy, is made from 2 pieces to provide a large venting area - to prevent damage during high wind conditions. The 48" diameter is very comfortable for two. You might be able to squeeze a small child in between if needed. When the canopy is folded down, a strap is provided to keep it tightly bundled and a carrying bag is also provided. In a closed down condition, it is 15" long and about 3 1/4" in diameter. The umbrella is relatively light. With the case I measured mine at 1.13 pounds. There are 10 lightweight struts used to create the frame. Each strut is made from 3 pieces, which are connected with 2 joints. Each strut starts out from the central post as an aluminum piece. It then connects to two plastic extensions which extend it out the edge of the canopy. The plastic extensions are fairly small in diameter and very stiff. The plastic seems fairly flexible. The true test will come if it goes inverted, which I didn't do.The stitching and sewing seem to be very good quality. The canopy fabric is a thin, tight weave synthetic material - it seems about as I would expect. The umbrella auto extends and opens when you push the button on the handle. To close push the button again and the canopy folds but the handle remains expended. When you physically collapse the handle, you reload the tension that will extend the umbrella the next time you use it. The unfurling/furling actions are very smooth and quick. This is a nice quality umbrella available at a reasonable price. Its biggest benefit is the size of the canopy. However, large size umbrellas can be a problem on windy days, so this one is built with a two-part canopy which automatically releases some of the wind pressure the pushing on the canopy. A really nice feature. It folds up for easy storage in your car or shopping cart and is fairly light - so it's not much of a burden to carry with you. And the size is really nice when there are two people looking for shelter on a rainy, windy day. The automatic extension is really nice when you have your hands full.It you're looking for a compact, larger than average umbrella for protecting multiple people or perhaps sheltering someone in a wheelchair, this is a good one to consider. I would recommend it.

Hurricane tested!
Hurricane Tested!Well, maybe not exactly hurricane tested, but close! I live on the west coast of Florida and this arrived the day before had to evacuate for Hurricane Milton. The day before Milton hit was actually very windy and raining most of the day. My first time using this umbrella was pre-hurricane and it held up well. The automatic opening was very nice. The umbrella is small enough when closed that it fits in a side pocket in my car door. I grabbed it before I opened the car door, got ready and when I opened the car door I immediately hit the open button and it popped right up and expanded keeping me as dry as anything could in those conditions. I sort of had to lean into the wind a little bit as I walked, but I didn't have any issues with the wind trying to grab the umbrella and take it from my hand. When I got inside the building I hit the button to close the umbrella. Not as automatic as the opening! The umbrella itself folded, but then you have to manually collapse the upright portion. It's a little difficult to do the first time. You realize there's a lot of spring energy in there to let it open so fast and you have to overcome that to close it. The second time I closed it, it was much easier to do as I was expecting it.So I've only used this umbrella about 4 times so far. So I can't tell you how long it's going to last, but while it's still fresh in my mind from the hurricane I wanted to get this review done. I'm very happy with the umbrella and it's found a place in my car. Also nice, the sleeve that the umbrella stores in is roomy enough that the umbrella will go back into it without much effort. It's not one of those things that only fit when it came from the factory and you'll never get it back in. It's nice when the designers of a product think of the end user.
