Confusing
Unless you are already testing really well and understand the madness that is reading and comprehension sections of the GMAT this book is probably not worth your time. In trying to understand the explanations for some of the answers I was more confused than when I started. Unless you are already testing over 720 probably and really need that extra boost I don't see it being worthwhile. I got a 660 and don't recall seeing anything like these questions on the exam.

Its a good book to practice from
Its a good book to practice from. However if math is your weak spot, the explanation of how to solve the math equations is like a person who speaks english only, is all of a sudden forced to read chinese. It's a good idea to purchase an additional math book for this GMAT exam

Excellent Book, It Is What The Title Says
This is an excellent book for one searching for examples of difficult questions that appear on the GMAT with accompanying explanations. While others may be disappointed the book doesn't provide an in-depth explanation of the test format and structure, it doesn't claim to do that-it claims to provide difficult examples problems with explanations. This it does superbly.

Quant Section is useless if you expect over a 600
The first 2/3 of this book is verbal based and does a good job. I bought this book because I need work on math I had been getting about 85% percentile on practice GMAT. I was getting stumped on wayy too many questions. This book does a decent job of reviewing key math concepts, but there has not been a single problem I couldn't do in my head. Compared with struggling over even medium difficulty problems on practice tests.Alos in the verbal section there were questions I've seen outside of this book.Never written a review before but had to put the book down and write this one.

GMAT
The verbal part of this book is good, but the quantitative one is not that advanced as the title suggests. I used several books to study for the GMAT and the ones I like most were the Kaplan Premier 2011 (good for tips, introduction and exercises) and GMAT the official guide (good for tests similar exercises as the real exam).

Nice Additional Q Set
I liked the questions in this book. They were better than OG Verbal or OG Math guides. However, this is more or less a collection of advanced questions. Sometimes the explanations are not quite convincing, but they are much better than some other books. For more comprehensive prep and guidance I recommend Veritas Prep guides. My prep material- Veritas Prep Set (Spend enough time reviewing & re-reviewing these)- OG (GMAT Review)- Kaplan 800- Manhattan Prep SC GuideP.S. I scored 760

An excellent guide for advanced GMAT preparation that will make a difference
This is an absolutely excellent guide for GMAT preparation. It contains more challenging questions that push your thinking beyond the standard GMAT textbooks provided by GMAC. Once I had completed the official GMAC books (which I have also reviewed), moving on to this Advanced guide was what made a significant difference to my preparation (and my final score!) Although this is not by the official GMAT company (GMAC), Kaplan has clearly developed a guide that is highly relevant/realistic of actual questions that could come up, solutions are explained clearly, and there are plenty of practice questions to complete. If you are aiming for a top GMAT score (700+), I HIGHLY recommend this book.

Not very representative textbook
This book is poor illustration for the difficulty of the GMAT question range. I have to agree with some of the comments that the questions here are much easier than the real thing. Particularly in the mathematics section, the questions presented in this book are a world apart from the difficulty of most GMAT questions that advanced test takers are likely to come across elsewhere.

All Tipps fangen mit "A 800 test taker..." an, z.B. "An 800 test taker knows the forumlas for determining time, rate and distance" - die Tipps sind also alle ziemlich plump! Manhattan GMAT Complete Strategy Guide Set, 5th Edition (Manhattan GMAT Strategy Guides)

Awesome!!
The three GMAT Official Guides are not enough to get the best out of your preparations. If there are not many books you want to go through for your Gmat Prep (apart from the Official Guides), make sure this is the one you use, This book contains a lot of concepts not included in the Official Guide.
