I purchased these in the past from a hardware store in smaller versions, and I love how fast they light. I love how fast they do what they say they do. I mean, they like the charcoal because they have a Gravity Fed grill, and I use them on that. They work great.

Love these for our charcoal grill and ceramic smoker. They start easily with matches, lighter, or even an electronic torch and can be handled for several seconds before placing. I like to use an electronic torch so I can light them more easily, then place them into either a chimney starter or the grate on the ceramic smoke before adding charcoal. The work well, but care has to be taken to not put them out when adding charcoal until they are burning well. I was not impressed with the 'crumbs' that come off of these while in use. It seems they are very fragile and several in the box had been broken. It's not a big deal, I think the quality and price points still make these a worthwhile purchase. It's just a bit messy.

Very easy to light, no oder, last for the stated 10 minutes. Used to light our outdoor firepit.

Update 2: I received the product as promised along with an explanation. The company has chosen to use some smaller firestarters to make up the 150 count and keep the price low, and production the same with a quality product made in Ukraine rather than sacrifice quality product or manufacturing elsewhere like China etc to be able to continue producing a product of superior quality at a lower price than many companies are currently offering. After having some time to reflect on this, while appreciating the much better quality and size of the majority of the firestarters, I have come to the conclusion that while I initially felt cheated, now that I understand what is happening, I have no problem supporting a company that is doing their best to keep the prices low and the quality high. I will continue to purchase these since they really are superior to the others I have used. I did recommend that the company find a way to indicate that up to a percentage of the firestarters might be smaller than the oversized XXL to keep costs lower and pass that on to the customers so that others don't feel as I did seeing the small pieces mixed in. Overall I would suggest these to others at this point because for the price, you are still getting a better product and a comparable amount of the product for a decent price. Update: Seller reached out to me regarding these issues and offered to remedy this by replacing the item. I will post how the product is when I receive a replacement. ***See photos for examples of a normal sized one and then some of the ones I counted to try to get over 100 in my box. I got about 1/3 of them in the full size, about 1/3 small or partial ones, and the other 1/3 missing, so I really only got 1/3 of what I was promised and sold for the money spent, maybe 1/2 if you put all the inferior small pieces together, but I did not purchase a box of small pieces I purchased a box of 150 XXL fire starters. NOT what I got! *** I am extremely disappointed in these and would give 0 stars if I could. I would also return them if I hadn't already used 2 to start a fire before transferring them to the container I use for these items. I buy these (usually from a different company) and am very familiar with what 150 of these look like. I thought the other brand ones were a bit small, and when I saw these for about $5 more than I usually pay for the other brand, and they were claiming to be extra large, I thought I would try this brand. I am so sorry I did. When I started transferring these I noticed it didn't look like there could possibly be 150 in the box so as I emptied the box I counted them. I barely made it to 100 with full sized ones. If I count the scraps and little pieces that are in the bottom, I have 115 total, and that is being very generous. In reality I have 2/3 of the usable product I was promised and paid for. This is unacceptable and wrong. Sadly, they actually work better than the brand I have been buying and burn longer. They don't catch quite as easy, but it's still fast enough to be useful and reasonable, and as a fire started they work well. They are a terrible value for the money however because they do not sell you 150 as promised, you get 100 if you are lucky, and I forgot to mention that at least HALF of those 2/3 are NOT the XXL size, they are the same as the regular ones I already was buying. I would have started buying these as my regular brand based on performance, but not going to purchase them again because they cheated me out of a large portion of the product. Also the box was full, so I don't know how they could hope to fit 150 in the box so I believe it everyone counted their fire starters from this company most if not all would find they are being cheated out of a substantial amount of their purchased item. If I went to the bank and cashed a $100 check and they gave me $66 I would be outraged, as would everyone else. This is no different and to me it is stealing. I paid you what you asked for to receive 150 of this product, and you only gave me less than 100 usable (and only about 50 as described) items. This is not right, it is stealing and I will not recommend this product if this is how this company operates. I wish that it was a mistake and the company would correct it, but as the box can't hold 150 XXL fire starters (even though it is printed on the box that it contains that many) so I doubt it is a mistake, but if I find it is I will happily edit this review. Otherwise I strongly urge you not to purchase this item from this company. Every way they can short you on product they have, in size, quality, and amount. I want half my money back since I received 2/3 the product and if the 2/3 received only half were even close to the size promised and useable. I can't stress how disappointed I am in this company.
