What a nice simple design
When looking for an upgrade, like going from slow thunderbolt/usb 4 to much faster oculink, you'd expect to pay more. Like I think I paid 150 for my tb dock. This was less. And it was easy. And it just works. Plugged in the cable after using my sfx power supply and the little arm thing for the card stand, and blammo. I didn't even have to go into the bios. Better, it worked with Linux. And I legit didn't have to do anything but connect everything up. I'm still on that first boot. Having your card in a dock is a luxury. It runs cooler, and you can get at it if you want to swap it out, upgrade it, or it locks up. I like to run a cable for the external card, and one for the internal in the pc so I can swap between them. On Linux it means I don't have to reboot if the 7900XT has issues. I can fall back to onboard graphics, fix it, then resume. That's very convenient. It also means I can swap out my system/card at will. Oculink is awesome if you game at 60fps. You won't see much performance falloff unless you are doing insane fps 1080p gaming. Great product minisforum.

Works perfectly with Minisforum mini PC's
Love this Dock. I have paired a rx 7800xt with my mini pc and it works great. With a minisforum mini pc I just turn on the pc and the dock will self start as long as your power supply is on.

Best eGPU Base for the Money and a Simple Elegant Design
Paired with a 1. GMKtec Gaming Mini PC AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS (Turbo 5.1GHz) 32GB DDR5 2TB PCIe 4.0 2. EVGA 1000 Watt GT PSU 3. ASUS RX 7700 XT 12GB GPU I want to first note, there is a better way to spend money to game. This way is just totally different and technology is finally catching up with Oculink. Right out of the box this thing workd flawlessly. I updated the AMD Drivers prior to connecting the DEG1 External GPU Dock Station. This device looks beautiful and really makes the GPU look like a cool decoration. I tested COD BO6 Warzone Solo. I was averaging around 112 FPS with settings at High at 2560x1440 at 180Hz COD played pretty decent. I am used to a larger work station pushing the largest RX 7900 Series GPU. I may have experienced a little stutter. I will know more after I test my Nvidia 4000 series GPU. If you have some extra money and a Mini PC with a Oculink, this is the base to go with. I was worried when I ordered it but now I will tell my clients about this product with confidence.

Greener and better performance.
Great for saving power and keeping things cooler. I put guitar pickup foam in the corners to keep sound vibrations off the slots, and kept the card secure with the mounting bracket. It’s great I’ll be able to upgrade the card or mini pc independently too. I can turn this all off and use dedicated soundcards in music studio or use the oculink port for high speed hard disk. It introduced minimal/zero latency it’s basically no different from the sata cable connecting gpus to board anyway. It will run max settings in most games.
