Beware the sizing! "Large" will get you a "medium", EU/US sizing differences.
I'll go ahead and give this item 5 stars, but beware the sizing. I chose "large" and received a "medium". The tag said it was large-EU but "medium-US". It barely fits me, with no room underneath for an insulating layer. The sleeves are tight. I'm outside ALL the time, so I'll wear this out eventually. I like it enough to buy another (X-large), just hoping it's big enough. Extraordinarily lightweight (4.7oz), very waterproof, very stretchy. My other jackets are almost-waterproof, but this one is waterproof.

10 stars, best rain jacket ever
This rain jacket is a comfortable, slim fit, it's extremely light-weight, and it's crazy waterproof. Best rain coat I've ever owned. I really like that's it's not a heavy coat. It blocks the wind, and breathes well, but I don't overheat when on the go like I do in cheap coats. Water beads up on the surface extremely well. I really like the magnet that locks back the hood when not in use. There are no loose and bouncy parts on the jacket that bother me. Speaking of the hood, it is also slim with a small bill. The worst part of the rain to me is when my glasses get all wet, and the bill on the hood is not enough to protect the glasses. No problem, a baseball cap fits just fine under the hood. I also really like that the main zipper is double-ended. I can unzip normally, or pull up from the bottom to support my running belt, bags, or otherwise vent. The elastic-cloth of the wrist cuff is substantial. The arm is not going to ride up my arm. Though, it isn't as waterproof as the main shell. Speaking of, the ventilation panels on the inner-front torso are proving great for ventilation. For a rain coat like this, determining value is tough. There's no doubt in my mind that this is one of the best rain coats I'll ever experience, but the price tag is fairly large. I think it's worth it, but I know I'll struggle to afford another one.

Order up one size-great quality!
My final test for this running jacket occurred on a rainy, cool (58 degrees) morning in Northern California. The jacket is super quality, very thin and fashionable and protected me very well against rain and cool weather. I like the breathability of the jacket-during the month of testing, I never got too hot or cold. The jacket kept my body temperature just right. Note, I always wear a thin T-shirt underneath because I don’t like the cool fabric against my skin i.e. barrier. Notable areas for improvement: the jacket size runs small so if you have a large chest like me; you should order an Xtra large for total comfort. The cut design in the chest area under the arm cut is excessively narrow and doesn’t allow for upper arm movement conducive for lower/upper body running movement. Also, I had a minor issue with the zipper becoming detached, which is alarming considering the super high price for the jacket.

Amazingly light weight and waterproof
Amazingly light weight and waterproof! Best running jacket that blocks wind and does not trap heat. Size runs a bit small.

GORE WEAR Men's CONCURVE GTX Running Jacket - Black | Medium
I’ve been running in the GORE WEAR Concurve GTX jacket for a few weeks now, and it’s quickly become my favorite piece of gear. The quality is immediately noticeable—this isn’t just a windbreaker. The GORE-TEX fabric really delivers: it blocks wind completely and keeps me dry in steady rain, but it’s also lightweight and breathable enough that I don’t feel overheated once I settle into pace. The fit is excellent (I’m 5’10”, average build, medium fits spot-on). It has that athletic cut—close to the body without being restrictive—so it doesn’t flap around, and the stretch panels give just enough freedom of movement for longer runs. I also really appreciate the little design touches: a hood that stays in place even on windy days, smooth zippers that don’t snag, and reflective details that make me feel safer running before sunrise. What stands out most is how versatile it is. I’ve worn it on cold, damp mornings with just a base layer underneath, and I’ve also taken it out in milder weather where it was more about blocking wind. In both cases, it performed perfectly. After a few washes it still looks brand new, no loss of waterproofing or shape. Yes, it’s a bit of an investment, but honestly, this jacket feels like it’s made to last for years. If you’re a runner who doesn’t let weather dictate your training, this is one of those purchases you won’t regret.

Extreme price in this economy?
I got this jacket for my husband and it’s super good quality. I feel like the price is kind of unrealistically high for this type of jacket? Am I wrong? I just cannot imagine most people being willing to pay almost $300 for such a thin polyester jacket? I don’t see anything really specific that makes this jacket stand out more than any other jackets we have.

Gorewear knocks it out of the park again
There were some comments about the size - which the listing doesn't at all give any measurements or recommendations on what size you should get. I usually get an xl, the xl fit but it was tight around my flat tire. I wouldn't be able to wear another layer under this jacket. I liked the jacket materials and fit on my arms and chest. The jacket is just the outer layer with nothing in between so its very light. It didn't feel totally breathable - I started getting warm just wearing it in my house. So I wouldn't recommend this on a warm rainy day. The hood somehow was too large for my head and kept falling into my eyes, I wish there was a better way. There was no fraying or errors in the construction of the jacket. Yes it is crinkly. Not as crinkly as other jackets, but it will be making that noise during a run.

Nutze diese Jacke für Trailrunning bei schlechtem Wetter. Habe bisher keine negativen Erfahrungen damit gemacht - weder im Winter beim Lauf im Schnee noch im Sommer bei einem Wolkenbruch.
