Excellent beginner book
I bought 2 Lino print books for myself, this one is by far the best for beginners. It gives clear instruction and 10 projects to begin with, which is great for someone like me who has little imagination or skill at drawing. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a list of exact Lino tools eg Pfeil L11/0.5 etc for when one wants to upgrade from essdee/speedball starter kits.

Attracted by the fish!
I was attracted by the fish on the back cover because I am doing an under water project. As it was cheap and the style looked interesting I bought the book good value for money RRP is £10. Well produced Search book, shiny pages and most pages have 2-3 quality photos. I am not a beginner but a 'learner'. As such I found the book well worth looking . To see the finished blocks unusual and you can see how clean the cuts are and how they are arranged. It motivated me to go and get new tools, knowing what sizes I should be looking for. The photo technique for designing is interesting. I have developed it further to take images of my design and will then reduce them to the size needed for the final print. It is well written and would be a good book for beginners - better than most! There are stencils for all the projects. or. if you like me, be inspired to be more independent and do my own designing and not trace images from elsewhere. You can see there is something more here than just for beginners! Can't get over how cheap.... although it is relatively thin.p.s have taken photos of selection of Guylian chocolates and these will make a really good design. Would not have thought about this without having read this book.... went out to specially to buy the chocolates...no other book has done that to me!!

Practical and full of fun designs to develop a proper understanding of the craft
Wonderful book with loads of great ideas. I just wish I had ordered a big stack of lino at the same time as I can't wait to try the projects out!

Great book for a beginner
Great book for a complete beginner. I bought a starter kit and this book. Really great step by step instructions and fun projects. Highly recommended.

Very basic
It's been so many years since I did any lino cutting that I thought it'd be good to get a beginner's book. Thus one is an odd mix of totally basic and a bit mor complex (the bubbles around the whale as a first cut?). I'd have liked to see more about the cutting tools and techniques.

If you are learning Lino printmaking this is a good book to start.

The book provides clear, and uncomplicated instructions on the linocut and printing process The author also provides good advice on tools and supplies as well that a person starting out will appreciate. All around a great book that is interesting to read and follow along with. I've read other linocut/block printing books that are much harder to follow.

Lo he devuelto porque es muy elemental, demasiado simple. Puede valer para un principiante absoluto pero si se quiere avanzar en la técnica del linograbado este libro no permite llegar muy lejos.

Ottimo per principianti, non essenziale per i più esperti.
