UPWalker Original Upright Walker – Fully Assembled ISO Certified Adjustable Stand-Up Rollator Walker with Seat, Armrest, Backrest for Seniors (Large)

Husband is 6’5” and 298 lbs. we bought the extra tall size. It fits him very well and he can stand up straight with a walker for the first time in many years. It’s a little difficult to maneuver with the back wheels locked as the instructions state you should never use with all wheels unlocked. I can see why this is necessary, especially for someone who is unsteady on their feet. Also on this model there is a stabilization bar between the handgrips. This is definitely required as he uses the 15 mark for the grips. Even with these connected there is some play between the grips. It is very easy and quick to collapse for transport, a little heavy for me to load into the back seat of our car, but I am 76 and 5’3” and it’s a tight fit in a sedan. Also, forgot to mention, the seat is wide and deep and has separate hand grips to assist in seating and standing and is the first rollater type seat he has been able to actually use!

Large version is bulkier and heavier than expected. May be a struggle to maneuver into compact car trunk.but very sturdy, well made. Initial unpacking and setup easy. Comes with additional 'bridge' connector bar that adds to structural permanence. Read instructions very carefully for precisely where to install this piece - it's not obvious. Very happy with purchase.

This has been a lifesaver for me. I lost all balance in 2024 and fell repeatedly. The small lean-over walkers were too flimsy and would not support me. This walker allows me to stand upright and move forward without leaning over. We knock it down to take with us in our SUV. It has been a lifesaver! Worth the dollars!!!

My husband had a bad fall the first time he used this walker. Wheels in front are too small and too far from center of gravity. A three wheeled walker with large wheels better for walking. This upright would be fine for very flat walking surface (like in a nursing home).

I purchased this larger UpWalker for my elderly Dad who is six feet tall and weighs 180 pounds. He is delighted that he can now stand almost completely upright when walking. (Note: Because the user leans on their forearms when using the UpWalker, they are not able to stand to full height, but the fact that they can stand almost to full height is a definite plus and will, I hope, prevent the spine from becoming hunched over. This is a big win for people who use this walker.) I think my dad's been using a shorter walker for so long that he'd forgotten that he was walking stooped over. It's given him more self confidence, and a brighter and broader view of the world, to be able to stand tall again and "look others in the eye." (his words) He's only been using the UpWalker a short time, but he says that it seems to be taking some of the weight off his knee and his feet, which relieves some of the pain he experiences when standing or walking. This is another win for him because he'd become almost completely sedentary. Now he walks around the house several times a day, which provides much-needed exercise for him. One Drawback: The seat is positioned too low for him to use. One of his legs gives him trouble/pain and makes it difficult for him to rise easily from a sitting position, especially if the seat is too low for his height. He also experiences difficulty balancing himself when he has to lower himself to sit on a shorter seat. May I suggest raising the seat 5 or 6 inches higher or, better yet, making the seat height adjustable, so it can be adjusted to meet each person's specific height and needs? We're trying to figure out how to securely attach a cushion to the seat, so my dad can use it. But because of how the seat folds away from the user when they're walking, I think the cushion may have to be removable. That's a concern because if the cushion moves while he's sitting on it or trying to sit down or stand up, he could fall. So the best option would be if UpWalker can make the seat height adjustable. Would that be possible? Another Request: It would also be helpful if the seat were deeply padded because when an elderly or disabled person has to sit for any length of time, it can become painful and cause their joints to stiffen in a seat like that. Overall, I am delighted that I invested in the UpWalker for my Dad. I only wish the Veteran's Administration hospitals would make these walkers available to the veterans. Even if they covered part of the payment, it would help the Veterans and provide some financial relief to their families. Can UpWalker get the VA to help vets purchase the UpWalker going forward? If you're at all on the fence about buying this walker for yourself or a family member, I'd say try it. There's a return policy, so you can try it and see if it will help. I'm very glad I purchased it for my Dad.
