One of those products that simply works every single day
I own a pool in Florida, so keeping the surface clean is a constant task because of leaves, insects, pollen, and other debris that collect throughout the day. After using the AIPER EcoSurfer S2 for several months, I can honestly say it has completely changed my maintenance routine. The best thing about this robot is its reliability. It simply works. It navigates around obstacles, keeps moving across the pool, and requires almost no attention. So far it has never gotten stuck, never stopped unexpectedly, and has been completely dependable. It's one of those products you set up once and almost forget it's even there. The solar charging performs very well during sunny days, which is most of the year here in Florida. I also appreciate having the option to recharge it with the included cable during rainy weather or whenever it needs a quick boost. Having both charging methods makes it a true set-it-and-forget-it device. The app is straightforward and easy to use, and the OTA firmware updates are a nice bonus because they show the manufacturer continues improving the product over time. Its ability to collect leaves, insects, pollen, and floating debris has been excellent. By continuously cleaning the surface, it also helps reduce the workload on the pool's filtration system and keeps the water looking much cleaner every day. If I could improve one thing, I would make the debris basket slightly larger for seasons with heavy leaf fall, since it needs to be emptied more often. Also, this is a surface skimmer, so it is not intended to replace a robotic pool cleaner for the floor or walls. Overall, this has been an exceptionally reliable product. It doesn't fail, it doesn't create problems, and it delivers exactly what it promises. If you're tired of skimming your pool by hand every day, this is a purchase I would absolutely recommend.

Great addition to my pool – keeps the surface spotless
Great addition to my pool – keeps the surface spotless I’m very happy with this pool skimmer. It arrived quickly, and charging it the first time didn’t take long. Once I put it in the pool, I noticed a big difference almost immediately. It doesn’t just pick up large leaves—it also collects the tiny debris, lint, pollen, and fine dirt that float on the surface. The water looks much cleaner and clearer, and I no longer have to skim the pool by hand before jumping in. The solar charging has worked really well so far. After the initial charge, I haven’t had to plug it in again because the solar panel seems to keep it powered throughout the day. The build quality feels solid and durable. It catches a surprising amount of leaves before they have a chance to get pulled into the pool’s filtration system, which helps reduce the amount of debris the filter has to deal with. The only thing I’ve noticed is that if you’re using a pool vacuum with a hose floating on the surface, the skimmer can occasionally get caught on the hose. That’s not really a fault of the skimmer—it’s just something to be aware of. It usually works itself free, or you can give it a quick nudge and it’s back to cleaning. Overall, this has made pool maintenance much easier. Between this surface skimmer and my pool vacuum, my pool stays clean with very little effort. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to spend less time cleaning and more time enjoying their pool.

Good when pool pump is off not powerful enough to break through or way from the jets
I have an update from my original review. I have noticed a couple factors that I have removed from the pool and the EcoSurfer S2 keeps my pool very clean and there is barely anything in my pool skimmer basket. I run the Eco Surfer everyday at night and in the peak times my pool pump shuts off. Problems I had: 1. I can't run it with the pool jets on because it pins the device up against the walls and can't power through the jets strength. 2. I can't run it with my corded Dolphin Quantum Pro because it got hung up in the cord. I'm so happy the seller stands behind their product and provided an excellent solution and service, which has made my pool cleaning process much easier and smoother. I find that is very good customer service trying to offer solutions. Most companies today do not even care if their product is good or bad or if the public is impacted. As long as you get passed the fact you have to run it when the pump is off, I would definitely buy it again and from this company.

Pretty great little skimmer…but awesome customer support
Update: I am changing my rating of this skimmer from 2 stars to 4 stars. I want to stress that I was NOT asked to change my initial rating, but I think really good customer support counts for something. Aiper customer service reached out to me to offer a replacement skimmer for mine that no longer functioned. No questions. They have asked that I return the faulty unit, but they sent the new one out first, emailed me a paid return label, and said when I’ve got time, send it their way (!). It arrived within a couple of days and I’m sending the faulty one back in the new box. I stand by my statement that at that price point this should last longer than it did, but it works like a dream when all is right with it, and Crystal in Aiper customer support made things right for us. Happy skimming… Torn between 2 and 3 stars…it really WAS great. Bought this Aiper EcoSurfer S2 skimmer in Dec ‘25 for my 75 yo dad. We have a lot of big oaks and tons of leaf drop so I thought it would lessen his workload and it really, really did…for a while at least. We have an oddly shaped smallish 13k gal in ground pool. This surface skimmer is really quite simple. I never could get it to join my network so I don’t really have much use for the app, but I haven’t needed it. Once it’s charged up, drop it in the pool and you can almost forget about it. In early spring even with heavy leaf drop and pollen we barely had to manually skim at all. Just empty the basket once a day. In the dead of summer, the basket might need emptying 1-2x per week. With the sun in SE Texas, it’s only been charged with the plug a few times, the sun does it all. It does get itself trapped in the tethered sweeper line on and off all day but still keeps the pool clean. After 8 months of great performance, I was surprised to find it flashing red a couple of mornings ago. I plugged it in thinking it hadn’t charged enough over a couple of cloudy days. It was green after charging so I dropped it back in the pool and went about my day, but it was flashing red again the next morning. I dug out the user manual which directed me to check the propellers and basket impeller, but nothing was stuck…cleaned everything anyway, turned back on, green again, back in the pool…and I noticed the left propeller not spinning. Messed with it some more and it started up and off it went. Walked by a bit later and it’s flashing red again and dead stopped in the middle of the pool. Great. Since the troubleshooting guide doesn’t say much more, I came here to see what others might know and it sadly looks like a pretty common problem with this machine. It’s hard to have been so so spoiled and then it just stops. And just before fall…lol. At that price point I expect something to last longer than 8 months, even by today’s standards.

Just get one!
I have a couple of large trees near the pool. The results are leaves are constantly in the pool. The skimmers do a so so job so I have to manually net them. I decided to splurge on an Echo Surfer . What a beast ! Solar powered and never stops. I had 2 days of rain and it never quit! Because it works 24/7 you will rarely see anything on the surface of your pool. When the water level got above the skimmers I use to backwash. No need to now since the echo surfer has taken over it's duties . There is an app for the device. Shows state of charge and you can also steer it . Both are not needed . It always has a charge and the 24/7 random skimming gets everything . When the basket gets full it automatically shuts down and a L.E.D flashes to notify you to empty it . For me it is an every other day job.

Good Robot, Excellent Customer Service
Update 8/7: Hands down some of the best customer service out there. Crystal and Layna were fast, responsive, and made it very easy to work with them. They replaced the robot within a few days of receiving the old one and the new one is working flawlessly! Couldn’t be happier. Original Review: The Good: Great bot that does a really good job of cleaning the pool. Customer Service is fast, helpful and friendly. The Bad: several parts failed within a few months of purchase and I had to send it in for repairs twice. Ultimately, Aiper offered a full refund. The long version: This bot does a great job of keeping the pool clean and the customer service is truly fantastic. However, I can’t give it a higher rating because of persistent issues. First, the left propeller stopped working within a few months of purchase. I didn’t see any debris or blockage but I cleaned it anyway. It still did not work until it randomly started working again several days later. A few weeks later, the impeller stopped working and I had to send it in for a replacement part. Customer Service was EXTREMELY fast in their response and super attentive (Layna is the best!). The repair was done quickly and shipped back within a few days. When I received the machine, it worked again but the solar panels were not working so I sent it back for another repair. They fixed the panels but they immediately failed again when I received the machine back. Since they couldn’t fix it, they offered me a full refund. Again, the machine does a great job of keeping the pool clean and picking up debris. Customer Service is friendly and fast. The repairs were done quickly and without any hoops to jump through. However, I was disappointed to have so many issues.

Best pool product I've ever purchased
Best product I have ever purchased for my pool! Do not hesitate - buy it! It may appear slow at first but it gets the job done - PLUS - it quite literally works all day! One day it worked steadily for over 8 hours & was still going strong. I have been blown away at the run time. Plus SUPER easy to clean - and it does an amazing job at skimming the pool. Seriously - I have never had a pool product that I've loved this much! My pool is under a tree so there is constant debris but I never have to worry because I can put Aiper in the pool and know 8 hours later - it'll still be going which means nothing is floating.

Did I buy a Lemon? Read my novel and you decide! The Saga continues (updated 8/21/26)
Initial Review: I love my Aiper Surfer S2. I get a lot of leaf litter and pollen in my pool each Summer, especially when the pool is first opened and the maple pollen is falling. Often, the pool skimmer basket gets totally clogged with leaves if I don't go out to check on it daily. In the past, we have spent a lot of pool time swimming around and manually skimming debris that falls in while we are actually in the pool. With the Surfer, anything that falls onto the water surface is quickly gobbled up. I was a bit skeptical the first day I placed it in the pool--- within two hours, I'd gotten a message about the impeller being clogged. But that was when the long tree pollen/blossoms were falling. After emptying the basket every two hours that first day, I've had no other issues with clogs. I was amazed at how much of this pollen/blossom crap was held in the basket. The debris is easy to discard from the pull-out drawer. After the initial charging, my skimmer has spent all of its time living on the pool surface, recharging via its solar power. Yay! The one issue I AM experiencing is a noisy clacking sound made by the gear on the impeller. At first, I suspected there was something caught against the impeller fins (similar to how we used to make noise with bicycle wheels and attached playing cards....showing my age :-D ), but looking inside didn't reveal any sticks or other debris that might be causing the racket. When I hold the robot lower in the water, the sound stops. The noise is only noticeable if I leave the skimmer running while I am in the pool, but it is annoying. Otherwise, I would give this new pool toy a 5-star rating. Update #1: I still love the job my Aiper Surfer S2 does at keeping my pool clean. However, I have been discussing the noise issue with their Customer Support. Apparently this impeller gear is missing the "bearing" (as seen on the third photo in this comment, supplied by Customer Support) which is why it is rattling. They had offered to send me a new filter basket when we first began discussion about this issue. Now that I've finally had a chance to disassemble it to see if the bearing was missing, they tell me there are no more filter baskets in stock and have asked me to return mine for repair. I do NOT want to do so as it is doing its job and I don't want to be without it during pool season. I've lowered my rating of this item because it was obviously not constructed properly in the first place. Update #2: Thumbs up to Crystal with Aiper's Customer Support, she did a great job in our interactions. However, I am NOT going to delete this review as she requested. Since they were not able to send me a replacement filter basket, Aiper sent me an entire new Surfer S2. I simply took the new bin from that and swapped it for the noisy one. However, I was then left with the hassle of needing to return the faulty piece of equipment...no small feat as the box was cumbersome and finding a FedEx facility that was able to print off the return label proved to be challenging. None of this would have been an issue if the original Surfer S2 had been properly constructed. Update #3 (5/29/26): This worked great for the first year, except for the noise issue which was detailed in the earlier updates I made. Maybe I was just sent a lemon from the start and should have kept the entire replacement skimmer they sent to me instead of just swapping out the faulty basket and returning the otherwise new robot as I detailed in Update #2. At any rate, after having my pool opened this year and fully charging the Surfer, I put it into the pool where it ran perfectly...for a couple of days. When I went out to empty the basket a second time a few days later, I found it with flashing red lights and not moving, and it had collected NOTHING in the basket since I’d previously emptied it. I restarted the Surfer and I could see that one of the propellers was not turning. This caused the skimmer to just go in circles before finally shutting itself off and sending me an error message “Propeller jammed, please clean". I could see that the propeller was NOT jammed and was able to freely turn but I still pulled it out to "unjam" it several times, and even switched the right and left propellers to no avail. This seems like a very simple device, so all I can think of is that whatever microchip controls these propellers has failed. Customer Support is researching my current complaint but I doubt Aiper will do anything for this out-of-warranty robot. :-(. Right now, this is dead in the water and the trees are still dropping debris into my pool. I guess I'll have to order a replacement and hope for better luck with the next one I purchase. It really IS a wonderful tool for anyone who has a pool prone to leaves and debris falling into it. This time, I'll probably buy the Amazon extended warranty though, as Aiper DID come thru with the first issue. I’ve been exploring the Aiper app on my phone today for the first time and discovered that this Surfer’s total cleaning time is 1904 hours. That cost me 16 cents per hour of operation...quite a good deal IMO. After looking back at all the low-rated customer reviews of this product, I see that lots of other people have experienced both of the issues that I have had with my Surfer. This makes me wonder how many people whose Aiper skimmers needed repairs opted to take the "deal" I was offered to remove my negative review. I've decided to go with a higher-rated robot skimmer to replace this one. Update #4 (8/21/26) I ended up returning the Surfer to Aiper for them to repair the propeller issue, requiring me to make another annoying trip hauling a big bulky box to FedEx. The good thing is that Aiper did not charge me for this repair and did fix the propeller issue and returned it to me quickly. In the meantime, I got a different pool skimmer, the Beatbot iSkim. For a while, I had two skimmer robots working in my pool together. Within a few weeks, I discovered that this Aiper Surfer no longer appeared to be gathering up anything, though it continued to motor around the pool. Every time I would empty the skimmer baskets, the Beatbot's was full of leaves and other debris whereas the Surfer's basket was empty! In the past few weeks, I was able to observe the robot "at work" as I floated in the pool. I discovered that the impeller blades were making noise but no longer turning. I once again had to disassemble the impeller to troubleshoot. I thought perhaps the reason the impeller wasn't turning was due to the dog hair which had accumulated around the ends of the spindle (the result of a bad design?), but after removing that and being sure that the shaft could freely rotate, it still didn't work. Instead, it makes a clacking noise indicating that the cog wheels aren't lining up properly and the gears were slipping. It's like the basket can't quite seat properly, although it seems to be pushed all the way in and we can't find any reason why it might not be aligning properly. Yesterday, a friend was able to jerry-rig a wedge into the basket top and that seems to have fixed the misalignment problem. I haven't checked to see if this has fixed the non-rotating impeller issue but it's only a temporary fix as the wedge will become dislodged when I empty the basket again. In the meantime, the Beatbot iSkim has worked quietly and consistently for the entire Summer. I will probably just throw away this EcoSurfer and purchase a second Beatbot next year, as my pool needs two skimmer robots to keep up with the leaves and other debris that winds up on the water surface. I'm done with farting around with this badly designed skimmer robot.

Works great, love the solar charging!
This review is for the AIPER Surfer S2 Solar Pool Skimmer with APP Support, 24/7 Cleaning, Dual Charging Modes, Smart Obstacle Avoidance, Ideal for All Swimming Pool Types. I received it earlier in the Summer, and it's done a fantastic job throughout, but in the fall is where I'm really reaping the benefits. My neighbour has some deciduous trees, and it's one the the earliest to drop it's leaves. We have still had some really warm days so I'm hesitant to close the pool. This Beast has been great at scooping the surface garbage before it goes underwater. The sun isn't as strong as in the height of summer, but the panel gets enough to keep it going. The skimmer is relatively easy to handle and scoop out of the pool. Emptying the filter is also easy. I don't use the Bluetooth, and it does a great job getting around the pool and hitting all the spots.

Catching all the pollen on top of the water without clogging the filters is a bonus.
I am totally impressed with the AIPER top water cleaner. As you can see in the image, it collects all the pollen on the top of the water that I can't clean with a cleaning net. The fact that it is solar and never stops working is a plus for us. It is saving us approximately. 1 hour a day for us. We live near a forest, and there are plenty of trees. They are a pure joy, but the debris they produce is enough for us to look for a solution. This has done wonders for us and our summer camp for kids.

Enjoy a sparkling clean pool this summer with the AIPER S2 solar powered robot
So I've used this solar powered pool cleaning device since opening my pool. It has worked flawlessly. Who would have thought this little robot would be so darn awesome. This is a mid range peace of kit. It has some good features and software that elevates it above some of it's competition. With a 36h battery life and ease of use. This might be the ultimate companion for those days where you want to enjoy you're pool instead of cleaning it. The build: This product is built with dense high precision molds that are designed to be fully submersible. It boasts high precision spacial awareness sensors that can navigate many types of surfaces. These include flat, decline, incline, walls, rounded and stairs. The cleaning heads offer surface and side scrubbing actions. The robot also sucks in small to medium sized debris with ease. As scene on the pictures above the bottom roller treads are suction based and offer a smooth transition from floor to walls. Without damaging you're pools cover. The recharging receptacle is fully inclosed in a water tight gasket preventing any leaks and potential moisture damage. The large detritus basket is easy to remove and features micro mesh technology. Optimizing water clarity and offering a superior micro particulate sieve. The latest model offers an upgraded back door design. Specifically used in manual mode when performing backtracking maneuvers. The other version would sometimes spit out leaves and other particulates. Thanks to this welcome upgrade that is a thing of the past. Cleaning modes: There are 2 cleaning modes to choose from. Auto, and manual. 1 Auto Mode cleans the entire pools surface..then docs the vacuum close to the edge for easy access. 2 Manual mode: Allows you to control the robot directly via the app. You can guide it's path in real time. In use: I have tested this unit for the past 2 months without any hiccups. It has been consistently good and does it's job with minimal effort. I have tested in in my own above ground circular pool and my sisters in ground rectangular pool. It performed great in both circumstances. Offering the same level of leaning power. For all the good there was a handful of times that the robot got confused on my sisters regular stairs. After turning it off then back on it worked fine after recalibration. Since this is a battery operated machine it takes it's time and might be a bit slow for some users. Cleaning my sisters 28L buy 10W foot pool took almost 1h50mins. This included the walls and surface. In my modest 24 foot above ground pool it took 1hour. Witch is pretty good especially considering, I only had to empty the basket once. In the fall it needed more frequent emptying around 2 to 3 times per use. Since I have many trees on my property. . The unit also charges in the sun offering a constant cleaning solution with even less fuss. This is especially true if you have no trees in you're yard. Yet with the constant shade my unit needed to be topped up at the end of a hard days work. Final thoughts: If you are looking for the robot that could. Then look no further THEN the AIPER surface s2 solar. The ultimate pool cleaning solution. Stop stressing and start relaxing this summer. No worries when guest come over for that all important pool party. The top will be sparkling clean. With it's ease of use high precision sensors 2 modes of operation, voice assistant, solar power, full manual control and great battery life. This might just be the ultimate solution for you're pool cleaning needs. HIHGLY RECOMMENDED
