One of the few baby toys that actually stayed a favorite
I bought these blocks for my daughter’s first Christmas when she was about 6 months old. She’s almost 2 years old now, and they are still firmly in her Top 5 favorite toys, which says a lot considering how many toys have come and gone over the past year and a half. At 6 months old, she enjoyed holding the blocks, exploring the different shapes, and dumping them out of the bucket. As she’s gotten older, she’s started using them for shape matching, sorting, stacking, and imaginative play. It’s been fun to see how the toy has grown with her developmental stages instead of being something she quickly outgrew. The blocks are lightweight, durable, and easy for little hands to grasp. They’ve been dropped, thrown, stepped on, and chewed on over the months, and they’ve held up remarkably well. The storage bucket is also a huge plus because cleanup is quick and all the pieces stay together. I also love the Navy Fawn color scheme. It’s a more modern, neutral look than the bright primary-colored version I remember growing up with, while still being engaging for babies and toddlers. As a parent, one of my favorite things is getting lasting value from a toy, and this has absolutely delivered. Nearly 18 months later, my daughter still reaches for these regularly. If you’re looking for a classic developmental toy that will stay relevant well beyond babyhood, this one is worth every penny.

Old reliable
A classic toy that really lives up to the reputation. The shapes are easy for little hands to grasp, and the colors are vibrant and appealing. I really appreciate how the lid stays on securely during play but is still easy for me to open. It’s been excellent for my child’s fine motor skill development. It is easy to bring on car rides and the plastic makes it easy to clean.

Simple toy that actually teaches real skills (6 months and up)
We started using this with our 6-month-old during tummy time and sitting practice, and it’s been one of those toys that grows with him. Right now, he mostly enjoys grabbing the blocks, banging them together, and trying to get them into his mouth. The pieces are big enough to be safe but small enough for him to practice his grip and hand coordination. What I didn’t expect is how useful the bucket itself is. He loves taking the shapes out, watching me put them back in, and listening to the sound they make when they drop inside. It’s a great cause-and-effect toy at this age, even before he can actually sort the shapes. I like that this isn’t overstimulating — no lights, no loud sounds — just bright colors and simple shapes that let him focus. I can see this becoming even more useful as he gets older and starts learning how to match the shapes to the holes. Good for: • Tummy time and sitting play • Practicing grip and hand coordination • Learning cause and effect • Early shape and color recognition • A toy that grows with baby into toddler stage Not ideal for: If you’re looking for something flashy with music and lights. This is more of a classic developmental toy. This feels like one of those timeless baby toys that every house with a baby should have.

Great Toy! ❤️
**A classic for a reason — already on my second one!** I've now bought these Fisher-Price First Blocks *twice* — once for my older child and again for my baby — and they never disappoint! 🙌 The colorful shapes are perfect for little hands, and I love how they all fit neatly back into the bucket for easy clean-up. My baby is absolutely obsessed with dropping the blocks in and dumping them back out, over and over again! 😄 The different shapes and colors are great for early learning, and the sturdy build means they hold up really well through lots of play. If you're looking for a simple, engaging toy for your infant, this is a must-have. Highly recommend! 💛

Kids blocks , sturdy and can learn while playing !
Bought 2 one for a girl and one a boy both turning one , they love them, at first to pour out and throw back in , now trying to match them up and soon will be saying the colors of them! I love toys that are fun but teach them colors to count and shapes while having fun!

Great toy, lid does not seal at all.
We love this toy! It’s great for fine motor, gross motor, speech. The one downside is that the top has nothing to help it stay on. I do wish it would have even a little hold instead of coming off so easily. Overall, still great educational toy and our daughter loves it.

Great Value, Great Toy
Of all the toys we have purchased this $10 bucket of blocks has gotten the most use. This is an incredibly versatile, well made, and enticing toy. We first got this for our 5 month old. He loved knocking over little stacks of blocks and dumping the bucket out. We did have to be careful of him falling on the blocks at this age, but if your baby is supported by you while sitting this is an appropriate toy for that age. I would not have them supported by a nursing pillow or sitting on their own and playing with these. As time has passed we have done big stacks of blocks, sang songs about shapes and colors with the blocks, and he has even started trying to use the shape sorter. We have found a few exciting new ways to use the blocks. The blocks float in the kid pool, and they have little holes in them, so baby likes to watch the water stream down from them too. We have also used a muffin tin and sorted blocks in the cups both dry and filled with water which has been a fun activity we have done several times. After 4.5 months of hard use the blocks are still in great shape. I don’t think you can get a more versatile toy for $10. If I did it all over again these would 100% be on the list.

Safe, Engaging, and a Huge Hit (Even Just the Basket!)
Safety & Play Value: This classic toy is a staple for a reason. As a parent of a 12-month-old, safety is the number one priority, and these blocks are the perfect size—large and chunky enough that they pose absolutely zero choking hazards. Design & Durability: The blocks are bright, durable, and excellent for early motor skill development. While my little one has managed to lose most of the individual pieces around the house, the toy still gets daily use. The Verdict: He absolutely loves the basket itself! He carries it around, dumps things into it, and uses it as a standalone container. The shape-sorting lid is great for coordination, but the bucket alone makes it a winner.

Love at first sight
My 2-year-old instantly fell in love with this. Great for play times. My only wish would be for the lid to close firmly so that the container doesn't open when toppled, or can be opened by a toddler.

Classic Toy That’s Great for Early Learning
The Fisher-Price Baby’s First Blocks set is a great toy for little ones learning to explore and problem-solve. The blocks are the perfect size for small hands, and the bright colors and different shapes keep babies interested during playtime. I love that it helps with early learning skills like hand-eye coordination and shape recognition. The bucket with the shape-sorting lid makes it fun for babies to try matching the shapes, and it also doubles as a convenient storage container when playtime is over. The pieces are durable, lightweight, and easy to clean, which is always a plus with baby toys. Overall, it’s a simple, classic toy that provides both fun and developmental play. I would definitely recommend it for babies starting around 6 months and up.
