Seed Needs Partial Shade Wildflower Seeds Heirloom 2 Ounce Bulk Pack

Great that this is available but don't expect flowers the first year. The seeds take a while to germinate and it could take while before I know what plants have been established.

I planted these last fall, in November, in *very* poor soil. It's now April 4th and out of the hundreds of Fall seeds I planted, these have been the first to germinate and are coming up vigorously. I planted them in existing garden beds and pots both; they appear happy and strong in all locations. Though you're not supposed to mulch these, as they need sunlight to germinate, I *did* lightly mulch them with straw over the winter. Them I gently finger-raked the bulk of the mulch off when the weather began to warm up but the ground was still frozen. Worked like a charm!

Waste of money. I do not believe any of these seeds germinated. I had cleared some large bare areas in my perennial garden, planted and watered per directions. Kept moist, not flooded. Sadly only the weeds grew. It is now the end of July so I don’t think there’s any chance of sprouts.

The price was really good so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I sprinkled allllll of the seeds in the shady garden bed at my house and watered them well. I probably have about 50 plants growing but most of them just look like weeds. I did get about 6 plants that had little wildflowers and bloomed for a few days. Update: it’s been a few weeks, and I’ve had a lot more wildflowers grow in that time. It’s brightened up the side of the house and for the ease and price, I’d probably do it again.

Over seeded and should have mixed with sand? But they did great on the slope. First came the wallflowers and sweet William. Now this lovely mix in May, 2026. I think I should add dwarf sunflowers to continue the show. Unless more are coming. Worked in a few inches of amendments.This mix was sown at an odd time. 6/3/2025 and the wallflowers stayed green through the snow. 8B, North Texas

Very little growth and I’m in 8b! Just meh

I love these seeds and have purchased them a few different times. I highly recommend starting them in the fall AND spring. They are annuals and perennials so a lot of the flowers will not bloom until the second year. Be patient with these and make sure you weed well before planting. I planted some last year and the annuals sowed themselves in the ground again and the perennials are blooming for the first time this year! I added two more big patches this year and the annuals are already starting to bloom, while the perennials will grow mostly roots this year. It took around two or three months to be noticeable but they look wonderful! It really does have 30,000 seeds- the wildflowers seeds are just so incredibly small. To plant them you simply scatter them and pat them down onto the soil with a shovel. You do not cover them with dirt so make sure you water well but slowly and make sure there isn't a super heavy rainfall coming. It will wash away the seeds if there is too much flow.

We put in fresh sod in the back yard and left a 40x6 ft area in the back for wildflowers since the yard backs up to a pond. This section had been graded so it was just bare dirt, kind of a hard pack clay. I literally threw the seeds in this area in the beginning of May. It was raining. We went on vacation for two weeks. Then we had lots of rain all through May and June. I thought that most of the seeds had washed away. I had not covered it with soil, or raked it in, or watered it in the dry month of July. I thought only weeds & grasses had come up, but I started seeing buds in July, and now more in August. Despite doing NOTHING to help it along, I have a bunch of wildflowers in every color! I can't wait to see what happens next year, and if these will reseed. Regardless, I am very happy with my purchase.

This is a big sack of seeds, for me it was not a good buy. It could be my soil conditions, or the bad year. But about 2 foot by 2 foot area had some very sparse growth, the rest did nothing. I'd probably buy again but create better conditions
