COOLPIX P1100 Black

I am truly delighted with this Nikon COOLPIX P1100 camera. I am experienced at taking photographs but before I bought this camera, I had zero skills or knowledge of photography (I am not a lot further on now). I did a lot of research and read a lot of camera reviews to decide what type of camera and which specific camera is best for me. I have recently taken up bird witching and that was my main focus when selecting a suitable camera to purchase but I also take photographs of many other things. I read a lot of expert reviews about the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 camera as well as reviews by people that have previously purchased it. I think by the time I decided to buy the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 as opposed to a mirrorless DSLR camera that allows the user to use different attachable/detachable lenses or an alternative bridge camera I had got my head round the differences and what the strengths and perceived limitations of this Nikon COOLPIX P1100 camera are. Whilst a lot of the camera reviews refer to how heavy and large this Nikon COOLPIX P1100 camera is particularly when the full zoom is extended my own view is that the camera is not overly heavy or large and instead it is proportionate for a camera with such an incredible optical zoom lens. Before I switched on or took a photograph with the Nikon COOLPIX P1100, I read a lot of information about it. I respect the criticisms/negatives expressed in some reviews both from experts and people that have bought the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 camera. However, having purchased the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 camera it is clearly a quality and precision item with excellent components. Once I started taking photographs with the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 camera it did not disappoint. For a non-expert photographer that has never previously felt the need to learn all the menu items and functions of a camera I have tried to learn most aspects of the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 to try my best to get what I need from it. I am seriously impressed with the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 camera. It is a great camera and there are a lot of accessories, camera bags and tripods to suit it. Nikon provide software, photograph programme to edit the photographs you take, and a mobile telephone App and they are all good quality. Photographs can be downloaded to the App wirelessly immediately which is a big bonus. The Nikon COOLPIX P1100 has numerous specific scene options including bird watching and the moon but even the normal setting is very good. One complaint I regularly read in advance in reviews of the Nikon Coolpix P1100 is that Nikon only provides a single cable with the camera which is primarily for downloading photographs from the camera either to the Nikon photograph programme or to the laptop. However, I feel this is not a negative because the one supplied cable can also charge the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 battery via the USB port of a laptop or another USB operated device. I suspect if Nikon did also supply a separate charging cable there would be complaints/criticism that a second cable was necessary (a separate charging cable is available). I chose to buy the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 camera despite reading the negative aspects previous purchasers and experts mentioned because I felt that the camera is very good and that I would be more suited to the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 camera than an alternative camera with exchangeable lenses and other bridge cameras available and the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 would provide me with the best photographs for my purposes. It is also worth considering that although the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 is expensive it is much cheaper than buying a telephoto lens camera that has attachable/detachable lens or lenses and it is much easier to carry and transport than that alternative option. I did consider alternative bridge cameras before deciding to buy the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 but I feel this camera was the best upgrade on my previous cameras and that the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 gives me the best chance of achieving what I am after in buying a new camera. The last aspect I think needs to be addressed is that I explored many options of where to purchase the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 and I decided Amazon UK offered the best price and delivery. The camera took a few days to arrive which is longer than the delivery on most items from Amazon UK I have bought but it was delivered from where the camera was made as the price is much cheaper from there than via UK retail outlets and it is inevitable that travelling that far requires a slightly longer delivery timeframe. Rest assured though although it was delivered from abroad it was the UK version and all the paperwork and everything else was the same as if I had purchased it in the UK. The Amazon UK saving on the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 compared to the big UK high street and online retailers was over £200 which is not only a fantastic saving it inevitably makes the camera affordable as an option for some whereas at the higher price from the outlets that charge a much higher price that may not be the case. Finally, the Nikon COOLPIX P1100 is by far the best camera I have ever purchased producing excellent photographs and it lives up to the quality that Nikon and many of the experts that reviewed it say it possesses.

At the time of purchase, the Amazon price was best by far and delivered safely and quickly with Prime. The camera itself is what I expected, it's great for birding if you're taking photos for fun and Identification purposes and the results are fine for posting on social media and sharing. It won't give photographs as pin sharp as a dslr with massive lens as the sensor on the camera is small but there are tricks to learn to get very good photos. It's a heavy camera so a tripod will be needed in some instances, especially at the awesome max zoom of 3000mm but this camera does have fairly good stabilisation. I haven't tried the moon setting as yet but hope to soon. I also haven't used the video option yet but from clips I've seen on YouTube from people using it, the results look very good. Like all equipment, it will take time to learn but i'm enjoying it so far.

At full 3000mm nit as good as my last 2x Nikon P1000 previous models. Strange.

Likes Nice camera ,great zoom easy to use nice video playback viewfinder and price. Dislikes heavy shakes battery life to short about an hour only can’t see through view finder with power off. Noise on full zoom. I use this for taking pictures videos of birds and views. Wow what a game changer compared to camera and zoom lenses . 300mm to 3000mm completely out classes more expensive cameras it has its limitations but I love it.it makes taking photos a pleasure again. Recommend a tripod and muscle it is a heavy camera but how much would a 3000 lense weigh and cost.

Amazing, easy to use, astonishing photos, buy a tripod and remote control. Well worth the money.

I have sold this on. Fantastic for long distance shots of a stationary object or lazy animal. Bought this for a safari and was so disappointed. By the time you find the subject and take the photo, others have captured a string of wonderful images. Forgot to try the moon setting - which is supposed to be really good. Honestly, for the money, there are many more fulfilling options out there. It is also very heavy and you can’t exactly slip it into your handbag. That said, I did get some incredible close ups so still gave 2 stars!

Es lo que esperaba. Las únicas cosas mejorables de esta cámara son que no pueda grabar a 60fps en 4K (lo hace a 30), que las fotos no pasen de 16MP (poco para estos tiempos) y el peso de la misma. Pero la compré sabiendo esto. Por lo demás, es una cámara de lujo.

Nach intensiver Nutzung möchte ich meine Erfahrungen teilen, um potenziellen Käufern zu helfen, das Beste aus diesem "Zoom-Monster" herauszuholen. ​Die Stärken: ​Phänomenale Tageslicht-Performance: Bei ausreichendem Licht liefert der 125-fache optische Zoom Bilder, die in dieser Preisklasse sprachlos machen. Besonders bei der Tierbeobachtung und Mondfotografie ist sie unschlagbar. ​Ergonomie: Trotz der gewaltigen Optik ist die Kamera gut ausbalanciert und liegt sicher in der Hand. ​Wichtige physikalische Erkenntnisse (Praxis-Tipps): Man muss verstehen, dass bei solch extremen Brennweiten die Gesetze der Physik greifen, die nichts mit der Qualität der Linse zu tun haben: ​Hitzeflimmern (Mirage-Effekt): Bei hohen Temperaturen entstehen durch aufsteigende warme Luft optische Verzerrungen. Das Bild wirkt bei maximalem Zoom unklar – das ist kein Defekt, sondern ein atmosphärischer Effekt. ​Temperaturaustausch: Ein kritischer Fehler ist es, aus einem warmen Zimmer durch ein offenes Fenster in die kalte Außenluft zu fotografieren. Die entstehenden Luftverwirbelungen machen das Bild extrem schwammig und instabil. ​Stabilisierung: Ein stabiles Stativ ist Pflicht. Wie ich in meiner anderen Rezension erwähnte, empfehle ich zudem eine Nodal-Schiene, um den Schwerpunkt bei ausgefahrenem Zoom zu stabilisieren. ​Profi-Zubehör-Empfehlung: Um Reflexionen zu minimieren und den Kontrast – besonders beim Fotografieren durch Glas oder bei Dunst – zu maximieren, empfehle ich dringend einen hochwertigen Polfilter wie den B+W CPL Käsemann High Transmission. Er ist der Schlüssel zu kristallklaren Aufnahmen unter schwierigen Bedingungen. ​Fazit: Keine Kamera für Schnappschüsse bei Nacht, aber ein präzises Werkzeug für Spezialisten. Wer die Physik versteht und das richtige Zubehör nutzt, wird Ergebnisse erzielen, die mit kaum einer anderen Kamera möglich sind.
