Still really funny, but does work in the field.
I got this too late this season to put up in the field. But we set it up and tried it at home with the kids and the cats - just hilarious. The kids are sure I'm a complete idiot now. The wife kind of wonders. The cats kind of lost their minds. I can say that it works great - does what it's supposed to do, at 30' at least. The two motions aren't easy to distinguish at first, but they're definitely different. Looking forward to trying it at my stand next fall.Update: Actually works, at least with a younger deer. As other people said, it works even if you just put it on a tree. That's exactly what I did with it - put it on a tree about 20 yards from my blind. I had tried it on a tree about 40 yards away, but the distance was too far (so for me the range was only about 25 yards, with direct line of sight.) I heard the deer off to my side, and flicked the tail now and then. It both put the deer at ease and distracted the deer from my direction. Turned out to be a pretty young buck, so it may not work at all, or scare away, a smarter older deer. And the range does suck. I never had a chance to use it when I bought it a year ago, and these were new batteries for the tail/motor, and the original battery (with a piece of paper between the anode and the device to disconnect the battery in storage) in the sending fob. I'll have to try it with a brand new battery in the fob and see how much better the range is.

Primos Tail Waggin Use
The media could not be loaded. Been using it a lot lately. Only have it out about 20 feet or so in front of my Ground Blind. It's at the tail end of my Tink's inflatable deer decoy, Miss November. I did test it at home at a distance of 30 yards and it worked fine. Was 17 degrees this morning and it worked fine.In order to avoid low or dead batteries I replace them after each hunt. If you wag the tail a lot it will run the batteries down quickly. Resist the temptation to play around with it and wait for a deer to show up. I use rechargeable batteries in it.Make sure the On button is really on before hanging it. Look for the button to be lighted up. A quick button push works but not a firm delayed push. Listen and feel for the click.I put the Primos Tail Waggin in a waterproof box so I could soaked it down with scent killer and not get the battery compartment wet. Had to drill a hole for the motor drive shaft for the tail and the antenna. I got the box at WalMart. It is a small waterproof case made by Outdoor Products #58916.See my comment about adding 2 C cells in parallel with the existing batteries to extend the operating life of it.

As real as it gets.
The only thing I can complain about is the remote battery was dead when I opened it. Other than that, I mounted it to a Flambeau decoy and it's perfect! There's not a whole lot of difference between the twitch and wag functions but that's ok! It's quiet and has a decent range for the remote.

Good Concept
The product works well and my husband has used it a couple of times. Definitely gets the deer's attention. Two improvements would be great--sound and a scent dispenser of some type.

primos waggen tail junk
it is a piece junk, the batteries were leaking acid , cut my brand new deer decoy to fit primos waggin white tail at 139.00 dollars . Am so tired of buying things that do not work the way it is suppose to. the tail works the same on both settings then it died. You know my time is worth something to please do not send another one just give my money back plus some for time wasted and cutting my deer up now i have to take time to fit the pieces back together and glue them and paint them to match, Amazon you are a rip off something that sells for 49.00 when things get tight you take advantage of the situation

Bad! , Oh so Bad!
I am surprised to see Primos' name behind this product ...they usually have decent products an "tout" how well built they are. Well this "Waggin Tail" leaves a lot to be desired. Received this yesterday and so far: The two AA batteries supplied for the drive unit were leaking and corroded. Good thing they were in a plastic wrap. So I installed two new ones. Then I installed the supplied L1028 battery into the remote. Everything seemed to work fine. About 3 hours later I tried it again. It did not work.. the L1028 battery in the remote was dead. So my next adventure was a trip to Menards where I bought two replacement batteries. When I got home I installed into the remote one of the new batteries ... then everything worked fine. A few hours later I tried it again and it did not work ...the new battery was completely drained (dead). I installed the second new battery and then it again worked ...but I removed the battery for fear it would die shortly. This remote eats batteries like crazy. So next ... Knowing Primos as the good company I thought it was ...I was glad to see Amazon had a link to access their customer support ... except in trying to access their email support link ...Google/Firefox gives an error message saying page does not or no-longer exists. Shame on Amazon for allowing their business partners to do this. I will have to wait to Monday to try phoning Primos customer support. I guess this will be a good test to see just how good of a company they really are. Also Amazon please have Primos remove web link pages that no-longer work or are discontinued ...they are a pain in the neck and just make matters worse.

Works Great for bow hunters but needs more signal strength for rifle season.
This is a great product and does exactly what it says it will do. The only drawback that I have found is that the range of the remote should be extended to a farther distance than 40 yards. The 40 yards range is great when you are bow hunting in deep woods but should be longer when using as I have used it in an open field while I was rifle hunting. It would have been nicer if the range would have been 60 to 80- yards for rifle season. Still if you are close enough to use this decoy it is a great product.
