scratch on front door but I give it 5 stars anyway
Im not too familiar with mini fridges, my only basis was the complaints others have left on other fridges. With that in mind, this fridge with separate doors for freezer and fridge keeps each compartment at the temperature that seems correct. My tv dinners stay hard frozen and the food is cold but not frozen.Noise is minimal but yeah you hear it, I saw somebody complained about that, it doesn't bother me, never had a regular fridge make less noise so I think it's a non issue. The freezer holds about 5-6 TV dinners plus about 5 frozen burritos. The fridge compartment is ok, I don't like the strange can holder in the door nor the other holder it doesn't hold stuff very well otherwise it's okay.Main thing is it keeps what I need at right temps. I didn't take off for the scratch but somebody else would have, It was right on the front door and the door did not have a protective plastic over it while another less important part of the fridge did.

Great little dorm fridge/freezer!
Nice looking, sturdy, little dorm fridge that was delivered on time without dents, missing pieces, or other issues. I've only have had it less than a month, but works like a charm so far; I will update after a few months.Likes: I got it mainly for the freezer and smaller food items. It compliments my other dorm fridge, which has more shelf room and a decently sized freezer compartment area (looks like a freezer but falls to do so!) Easy setup and clear instructions; (Other manufacturing companies, take note - you are falling short in that area.)Dislikes: None so far.Consensus: WYSIWYG. I like it for freezing stuff, despite the slightly higher price and slightly smaller size than comparable products. I won't take off a star because I knew it was smaller before I bought it. If it was slightly bigger, I would pay the comparable price.Caveat emptor: I reiterate previous reviews about compact fridge/freezer descriptions that use misleading terminology such as, "Chilling Section," vs. the word, "Freezer." A manufacturer may use technically restrictive language to describe their product but fall short in what might be called a Sin of Omission - they may not specify the fact that it will not reach a certain temperature; most people expect a freezer, not a cooling bin!My other compact fridge/freezer is really more of a chilling compartment and couldn't truly freeze anything after about a month. My mistake for not doing my homework. The EdgeStar CRF321SS 3.1 Cu. Ft. Dorm Sized Energy Star Compact Fridge/Freezer is a keeper!

I'm Impressed With The 3.1 Cu. Ft. Compact EdgeStar Refrigerator
EdgeStar Equals Quality and Durable Performance... I have the smaller EdgeStar 'stand-alone' freezer and it has worked trouble-free for almost five years now and is still going strong. Since my cheaper 'name-brand' refrigerator gave up after less than four years of less-than-satisfactory performance, I decided to go with the EdgeStar brand for a replacement small refrigerator. This came extremely well-protected with double boxed and isolated packaging... so the EdgeStar refrigerator arrived in perfect condition. Instructions say to let it stand in its new location for two hours to let coolant 'settle' I did that and then turned it on. My goodness, it was cold and at operating temperature, both in the freezer and the refrigerator compartment in a few hours and ready to take in a full inventory of food. I bought the 'Taylor Precision Products Classic Series Large Dial Thermometer (Freezer/Refrigerator) - Set of 2' which are also sold on Amazon, one for the freezer and one for the refrigerator as I like to 'see' the actual temperature in the refrigerator just to be assured that everything is being kept at a proper temperature. With the dial set on 'medium' the refrigerator was right at a solid 35ยบ as needed and the freezer was right at zero degrees to keep my frozen item perfectly frozen. I'm impressed with the look, the build quality and the performance of the 3.1 Cu. Ft. compact EdgeStar Refrigerator and I highly recommend both the brand and this product.

Nice For Intended Use, But......
The unit is built very well and does what it was designed to do, flawlessly. It is also very quiet when the compressor runs plus it cools down quickly. My only real issue is the discrepancy between purported max temperature and the actual acheivable max temperature. When set at the stated maximum temperature (which is the minimum on the machine's control knob) the refrigerator can only hold a maximum high temperature of around 41-44F. The specifications listed 60F or thereabouts. I needed a higher temperature for my application so decided to buy this nice robust unit over a cheaply-made purpose-built wine cooler alternative. I am disappointed because of the mis-stated specification. So, don't buy this if you intend to use it as a better alternative to a cheap wine cooler. But do buy it if you want a very nice separate-compartment minifrige/freezer combo. I decided to keeo this one and incorporporate an auxilliary temperature control unit that will cycle power on and off as needed in the desired range for my application. Here are the results of my two day calibration:Coolest Acheivable Temperature:Refrigerator 35F/1.7CFreezer -4F/-20CHighest Acheivable Temperature:Refrigerator 44F/6.7CFreezer 9F/-12.8CThe temperature in the room was 72-74F/22-23C.Lastly, there was a small dent on the right side of one of the doors. In summary, it is a great unit for it's intended purpose. I bought it because I had an Edgestar Mini Dishwasher that was well-built and continued to function after two years before it was taken out of service. Never heard of the brand before that but will look for them again in the future. I just wish they would take a bit more care when listing product specifications. Sometimes application matters, so it is important to be accurate when stating capabilities.
