Overall a great beginner phone - B-23 approved
PROS about the phone: nice selection of ringtones and alert sounds; clear screen; good battery life; the slideout keyboard is smooth and does not catch or the keyboard (which is a good thing); convenient Speaker On touchscreen button on numbers keypad; easy-to-use settings functions; QWERTY keyboard has excellent backlighting of keys in dark places; QWERTY shortcut feature lets you simply touch a letter on the keyboard to jump to that letter in your contact list; loud ring volume and listening volume, if set high; the camera takes good, clear pictures. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: the Opera browser needs to load pages faster; the phone is very touch-sensitive and can jump away from where you are in an instant; doesn't have a camera zoom feature. CONS for this phone: durability. This phone seems to need to be replaced approximately after every 10+ drops. This is the 3rd LG Extravert 2, I have bought for my brother (who is 15), and it seems to last about 6 months or so. However, for the price, I can't really complain. I found this phone on sale for $35 (great starter phone). Overall: I would rate this phone as 4.4 out of 5 for all the factors mentions and this is a can't beat non-smartphone for a $35 price tag (price was $35 when I bought this phone) and has earned my B-23 approval.

Worst phone ever
This phone stinks. I didn't need or want a smart phone. But I didn't want one as dumb as this phone either. Most annoying feature is that I pocket dial/text/set alarms and events all the time. I've never had a problem with this before. I've tried every screen lock setting (drag or slide) but since it doesn't have a pin unlock option or sensitivity settings, there basically is no fixing this. Beyond that, it has proved a repeated hassle to sync to laptop for music etc. It has no shuffle for music. And basically everything about using it is cumbersome. I could go on but just take my advice and don't get this phone. I got it for $.01 (plus the Verizon charges/plan) but it is a complete bust. And I tried to like it for a month and just found out I waited a day too late for returning it. So I'm stuck with it for a while I guess.

Nice, basic phone for my needs
I wrote a lengthy review on the Verizon website, but it has never been posted. That may be because they still advertise the phone as having Mobile Email. Problem is, Verizon discontinued that service on their basic phones. Except for that, I'm satisfied with this phone. I only make calls, text, check e-mail, and browse, so I don't require many functions and features. I can still check e-mail by using the built-in browser (Opera), but that is much slower and more cumbersome to use than the old Mobile Email. GOOD THINGS about the phone: nice selection of ringtones and alert sounds; clear screen; good battery life; convenient Speaker On touchscreen button on numbers keypad; easy-to-use settings functions; QWERTY keyboard has excellent backlighting of keys in dark places; QWERTY shortcut feature lets you simply touch a letter on the keyboard to jump to that letter in your contact list; loud ring volume and listening volume, if set high; the camera takes good, clear pictures. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: the Opera browser needs to load pages faster; the phone is very touch-sensitive and can jump away from where you are in an instant; QWERTY keyboard, but only because I prefer my keyboard to be on a touchscreen (like my old LG Chocolate Touch had); doesn't have a camera zoom feature. OTHER STUFF: get the Illumishield screen protector. It fits this phone and is fairly easy to install; for external storage (to be able to upload photos to my computer), I got the ScanDisk microSDHC card, 8 GB, which I found on sale.

good overall
I love this phone because it is great for children whose parents don't want them to get a smart phone, or good for people who would prefer not to have one of their own. I fall in the latter category. I personally find that I maximize my time when I use this phone; I don't get sidetracked with all the distractions of a smart phone. I understand that most people don't see things this way but I am a school teacher and many parents are getting this phone for their children if they don't feel the child is ready to handle the responsibility of a smart phone. I have found that since the phone has a sensitive touch screen, I was accidentally hanging up on people. I quickly learned to lock the screen and the problem stopped. Also, the phone does take pictures and videos, but the quality of the photos is not very good. The charge lasts for days; I only charge my phone once or twice a week. With a sliding keyboard, texting is easy

pretty good
Being visually impaired, this phone had all the features that I needed. So far it is performing well. There is a little trouble with the voice recognition and it has been dropping calls occasionally. Dropping calls can be very annoying. My husband has the same phone. his is not dropping, but he has trouble with pocket dials. A decent phone, but if you can find another option with the features that you want, you may want to try it.

LG Extravert 2 cell phone
I love my LG Extravert 1 and wish I could get another just like it. Could not find it but this Extravert 2 will have to do. When you get used to a certain phone, it is hard to get used to a new one that is a little different. It is a good phone and I would suggest it if you are looking for something other than a flip phone.

5-Stars for the Sellers!
I purchased this phone for my mother, she had this phone previously and she's old school and doesn't want a smartphone. I ordered this one and the sellers were amazing. They had a note included explaining how Verizon's current basic phone plan worked. The phone didn't end up working (thanks Verizon), and I ended up returning it back to the sellers. They processed my return so quickly, I was impressed. I was overall impressed with everything. If I ever have to purchase another phone or electronic device from them in the future, I would be pleased.

Do not like this phone
When you are trying to get into your voicemail and you are waiting for the prompt to put your password in, the screen goes dark. I have it on the longest setting for backlight display but it isn't long enough. When the screen is dark, you need to tap the screen in order for it to light up again. It takes a couple of seconds to light again and by that time the voicemail option has timed out. I am sorry I got this phone.
