... speakers up to this little device and it sounds great. I am back to playing CDs again
I hooked Bose speakers up to this little device and it sounds great. I am back to playing CDs again. It is so much more rewarding looking at CD boxes to decide what to listen to. Music is a more rewarding experience this way. Just looking at the CD boxes brings up all sorts of feelings. I hope I can get my 14-year-old to get 'attached' to music with CDs and this CD player. I have only had this CD player a week now. If it still works a few years from now, then I will be able to say I love it. (I had to return 2 other CD players before this because they were terrible... and one was 4 times the price of this one.)

Horrible
Recently while I was on a bus trip, I found that if player was not sitting on a completely flat surface, a clicking sound was evident as if the disc was brushing up against the side of the player. This only got worse, and the clicking got louder at all times, until I finally decided to cut my losses and rip the top cover off. I then proceeded to give it an Office Space-like beating, punishing the player for months of torture. I urge you to not consider purchasing such a horrendous item. Hope this helps.

NOS is still great product
My husband loves to listen to the "oldies" and I do not. He gets frustrated at all the new technology so this was perfect. Just a few buttons to push and great stereo music. It is NOS and works perfect.

cheap, but sound is not good
If you just need the cheapest "brand name" player, this one is ok, but the sound quality is not very good, it sounds as if you are listening to the mono recording;o)Spend a few bucks more and get something with good sound.

Drop it once, say bye-bye...
I swear by Panasonic portable cd players, as does Consumer Reports. They're usually skip-proof, durable, and generally reliable; plus they offer a lot of models to choose from, so you don't have to get, say, that MP3 feature you don't need.Unfortunately, with this model I wasn't impressed. It didn't skip, and everything was okay, until I dropped it on the ground three weeks after buying it. Now I know they're little and delicate and can't withstand abuse, but I expect to be able to drop a PORTABLE cd player, digital camera, etc. at least once without it falling apart on me. No such luck! The opening/closing latch promptly shattered, leaving half of the latch inside the machine and the other half on the ground.Luckily, I was able to return it - but you may not be so lucky. I did check out other models (and even bought one, the SL-CT590, which skipped horribly when I ran with it in my cd jogbelt thing, but was fine when I carried it), and this one seems to have the flimsiest closure. So you're probably better off spending a bit more for something that will last a lot longer!Unfortunately, I think this model is a case of "you get what you pay for"...

Great little Portable CD player, but I need instructions
It arrived in good shape and on schedule. The sound is good. I'm using it to listen to books on CD. It came with ear buds - not head phones as pictured. That was actually fine wth me as I like ear buds too. It doesn't appear to shut itself off, so when I pause it, I guess it would continue to run till the batteries died.. And when I manually shut it off and turn it on again, it starts at the beginning of the book. There are buttons on it that I don't know what they do (mode, memory, EQ) because it came with no instructions. I have searched on line for info on operating this CD player but no luck so far.
