CONSUMER ALERT
Consumer alert do not buy. Purchased one of these units for my daughter figured it would be an affordable option even if it only lasted 5 years compressor failed after 9 months warranty company will not honor the warranty if you do it yourself and if a licensed HVAC company doesn't install it they will not warranty the unit also had a license HVAC company replace the compressor warranty company will not honor the cost of the full repair not to mention all the time that was spent still haven't been reimbursed in total I'm going on months two dealing with this and I'm out $1,000 plus the cost of the unit by the time you're done you might as well have just got a top of the line unit and paid the price finance it if you have to this is not the way to go.

Good unit, great price. Installation requires more than basic skills.
Good unit, great price, works great! Not a basic DIY install, and REQUIRES internet to run unit the first time! The thermostat is the weak point as it does not come with new installation instructions, only replacement instructions that tell you to wire it like the old one was wired, which makes NO sense when using it for a new install. Had to study the manual and research the purpose of each signal wire, then compare it to the new equipment configuration along with the different possible control circuit cases before making a best guess on what wires should be connected. Then made it to the startup test which said to set on full cold, but could not as the thermostat software also REQUIRES an internet connected cellphone to initially register and start the unit. So if you are installing the unit in a remote area, you might be out of luck like I was. After 2 days of painstakingly following the directions I was stuck for hours, almost went out to get a new basic thermostat before finding a way to get internet to the location. Runs quiet, heats great, but am amazed that a product so good would be crippled by a dumb software decision.
