Estwing E3-FF4 Splitting Axe, 14-Inch

Q: What is the black finish? paint? powdercoat? black oxide?

It’s black paint. We just used it for the first since I purchased it as a holiday gift for my partner and the paint came off on one side revealing rust all over the axe.

Q: The picture shows a rubber perforated handle but the description says "leather grip". Which is it?

There are two versions of this axe, the one shown with the rubber grip and one that has a black head and leather wrapped handle. I have the leather handle one but both are excellent. I believe the one shown is $5 or $10 less then the other.

Q: Is there any difference between the blue and black axe other than the paint and price?

The blue has a rubber handle, theblack has the signature leather hande which is the cost difference.
