Q: Does it work alone or needs another filter?

Sir,it work alone.The UV unit will be the last step of your water purification system.It only works in disinfection.Would not help in water PH/Water softness/Large particles....I hope my answer helps.Thank you for asking again.

Our system can reach to class b disinfection,but sometimes a few customer have a strong bacteria problem wtih their water.That might need double system to help.

Q: can this unit be installed outdoors?

As long as you protect it from freezing, it has to be plugged in, we have it installed inside. We are on a well, have a sediment filter, a carbon filter then the UV water purifier installed in the same line. Going to get a test kit and test the water for bacteria and see how well it does.

Q: What is a difference between tws and ows?

TWS is more powerful than ows. 55w compare to 40W. We normally suggest our customer install the OWS unit horizontally. Cause vertically installation might need extra support if the pipe is plastic. But that was not a problem for TWS system.
